Final Fantasy VIIMateria MastermindThe Materia Mastermind achievement in Final Fantasy VII worth 35 pointsRaise a Materia to Lv. 5

Final Fantasy VIILiege of LevelingThe Liege of Leveling achievement in Final Fantasy VII worth 108 pointsReach Lv. 99 with one character

In my opinion, the easiest and fastest way to obtain this is defeating the Magic Pot in the Northern Crater. You have to feed him an Elixir and then defeat him for a whooping 8000XP and 1000AP. Sometimes they come in two.

Fill all slots of all characters with an "All" Materia. You can buy ALL Materia in Fort Condor for 20.000 GIL each.

You need 8 slots in your weapon and 8 slots in your armor for the best outcome in my opinion.

There are also double AP weapons with up to 4 slots for every character and also one triple AP weapon for Cloud and for Cid but they have only 2/3 slots. There are no armors with triple AP and only 2 and 4 slot Double AP armors.

Clouds Apocalypse can hold 3 Materias and have Triple AP.
Cids Scimitar can hold 2 Materias and have Triple AP.

You can use what ever weapon and armor you like. I preferred to use the 8 slot weapons and armors.

In Mideel you can buy Wizard Bracelets they cost 12.000Gil each and have 8 slots.

8 slots weapons for all characters:

Cloud: Enhance Sword can be bought in Junon for 12.000Gil.

Barret: Solid bazooka can be bought in Costa del Sol for 16.000Gil.

Tifa: Kaiser knuckle can be bought in Junon for 15.000Gil.

Red XIII: Centclip can be bought in Costa del Sol for 14.000Gil.

Yuffie: Spiral shuriken can be bought in Costa del Sol for 14.000Gil

Caith This: Gold m.phone can be bought in Costa del Sol for 15.000Gil.

Vincent: Long barrel R can be bought in Costa del Sol for 13.000Gil.

And for Cid: Dragoon Lance this weapon can also be bought in Junon for 6200Gil.

If you choose Cloud, Barret and Cid, like me, a full gear set with 16 slots in total cost 70200Gil. If you have not that much money just duplicate the Ether item up to 99 and sell them for 750 each for a total of 74250Gil. If you don't have Ether, buy them for 1500Gil each and duplicate them then.

If you start from scratch, you need to master 72 "All" Materias. If you dont have any "All" Materias to start with, they can be bought in Fort Condor for 20.000Gil each.

A Mastered All Materia can be sold for 1.400.000 Gil, it is the highest selling price in the game.

The optimal way in my opinion is to give every character only "All" Materias in every weapon and armor slot. This nets you a total of up to 48 and needs a full growth circle of two to four full Mastered Materias for all 3 characters.

After mastering a Materia they "Reborn". This will give you a new Level 1 Materia for free. All Materias need 35.000AP to Master.

To get an optimal outcome you also need the W-Item Materia you can found this in the Sector 8 Tunnel raid "on Disc 2". You have to go the tunnel all the way to the south even if characters say this is wrong. Alternative you can dig this later out in Bone Village. You can duplicate as many Elixir as you like, if you have a minimum of two. With W-Item equipped take one Elixir. Take another and with cn_A and push cn_B to "stop" using it push cn_A again and cn_B again and so on. Every time you duplicate one up to 99.

Here is now a video solution for where to fight and how to set up the Elixirs.

(Video credit goes to 19HajimeSaitou91)

Level 4 Limits are not needed and i highly recommend not to fight alone

it makes no difference if you use 8 slot weapons single grow or 4 slot weapon double grow but you dont have to switch materias that often and ALL materias are finished at the same time. And you have only change materias one time for all characters. for me it was the best :)

Why the All Materia?

The "All" Materia have the HIGHEST selling price in the game. One Materia is worth 1.400.000 GIL EACH.

The best selling item in the game are Sylkis Greens, which sell for 2,500 each. This can be bought by the Chocobo Sage near the North Crater.

Is there any way to do this legit without using W-Item to dupe Elixers for the Pots? I've done this before on the PSX and I wanna do this legit. I guess those little bouncing balls can be grinded in the same area too.

Yes you can

Win Elixir from: Dark Dragon, Staniv, Turks: Reno (3/Gelnika), Turks: Rude (3/Gelnika)

Steal Elixir from: Gighee, Iron Man, Master Tonberry

Morph Elixir from: Vlakorados, Harpy, Tonberry

Upvoted HOWEVER I did want to add that in your guide you said "The easiest and fastest" in regards to your method. Correct me if I'm wrong but the easiest method would be the least effort, e.g. auto battling using a book or rubber band and a turbo controller. Takes seconds to 'setup' and ofc there is a wait time and more time consuming but would be a lot less effort and consequently "easier"/easiest method.

If you fight a "Magic Pot" you can't rubber band/auto fight him. He's indestructible up to the point you throw an Elixir on him. If you did not fight the pot this cost you a lot more amount of time in Auto/Idle fighting AND the rules of TA say that the solution should not have extra equipment in it. Not every person have an Auto/Turbo Controller.

I get you point don't get me wrong but without extra equipment, you can check the web, the Pot enemy have the best outcome.

I add an "In my opinion" toast

I've seen more than a few solutions include extra equipment. Guitar Hero Live's rotary saw solution comes to mind.

Some nitpickers on here!

You can't say "this isn't the easiest because I could come up with a convoluted way to AFC it".

This is the easiest way. +1!

Nice guide. Upvote from me. The only thing I would suggest is offer a way to make the money for the All Materia a little faster. Personally, I went to the chocobo Sage and bought the 5000 / 4000 gil greens and did the w-item trick as they have a sell price of 2500 / 2000. Selling 95 of them nets 237k / 190k respectively and is 4-5x faster than W-item grinding ethers to get it. May only save you 10-15 minutes in terms of being able to afford all the All Materia you need, but its still a time saver for this grind.

Great solution, I'm trying right now.

A little note on your video though, I thought it was funny to see you try to escape a combat when at this point it's faster to just use a Limit lol

For me the NPC who sells Wizard Bracelets in Mideel wasn’t there. She disappears if you don’t talk to her before Ultima Weapon attacks Mideel in the story. They can still be obtained by stealing from Epiolnis enemies in the Ancient Forest.

The movers appear in the same room as the magic pots. It's not like you have to choose one over the other in order to go for multiple achievements. Just kill both as you encounter them.

Much better off using double growth weapons as you will easily have 1 for at least 3 characters rather than wasting time and money buying weapons and armor with 8 slots with normal growth as 8 with double will go up just as fast as 16 with normal growth, maybe even slightly faster once you factor in the random encounters that are not going to be magic pots given it's half the amount of fights to master one.

Yeah I would agree with that it would take the same amount of time either way to master them it was more the setup like chasing the 8 slot weapons down I feel would take more time than just going with the 4 slot doubles you've no doubt found along the way but if one is using X3 booster I suspect the time difference between the 2 would be very similar, I probably shouldn't of said "much better off" as all in all both ways give the same result and is easily the fastest way to earn the gil.

This may be of use to someone.

In the Northern Crater swamp room there is a rare enemy called a "Mover". They appear in trios, they offer no EXP when killed, but all three drop a combined 2400 AP and an astonishing 90,000 Gil.

They look like three red bouncing balls.

a quick note aside from all of this, if you dont mind using the cheats against the weapons, i just netted 30 mastered Alls from emerald weapon. I only used weapons and armours that had 6 each, and i had to use 2 HP up's just to be on the safe side (which sadly kept me alive from one-shots) He gives enough AP to master Alls in the one fight, not even using doubles or triples. Since fighting the weapons is something people will most likely be doing anyways, this will save a lot of time later on. Im about to do the same to ruby weapon, but i imagine it'll be roughly the same deal

EDIT: Ruby just netted me another 10. So thats more than half of what you need in 2 fights, and i was being cautious so i could have gotten several more. plus all the ones gotten during the game, this can put you easily around 60-65 without grinding for them, making using doubles with the pots much more viable in one shot

@My Toxic Frog 2 - While it may sell for the same...to say it can be mastered/re-reborn quicker is inaccurate. A couple factors:

1 - you can buy All Materia...which means you can already have multiple slotted in weapons/armor across 3 characters. Comet cannot be bought, only found...and that one has to be reborn to get more. You're spending significantly more time with rebirthing a Comet over and over to get an extra one.
2 - It is NOT quicker to rebirth. Comet requires 72,000 AP to master. All only requires 60,500. That's an 11,500 difference...couple that with what I mentioned in step 1 it's just not worth going down this path.

I mean it's a neat suggestion that it sells for 1.4mil but just because something does sell for that much doesn't make it a viable time-saving solution...both because it cannot be bought and it technically takes longer to master each one. In the time that you master 1 to rebirth another (to then go and master that one) you could have mastered 48 All Materia as this guide suggested with 48 more having been reborn. That's over halfway there to getting the Gil you need for this achievement...meanwhile the time you take to master just one comet at a time is so many times longer.

This is best done in the northen crater at the end of the game, you will need the W-item materia to duplicate items (look up the dup trick for details) which is found on the train tracks during the midgar raid just follow the tracks all the way south, and at least 1 elixir.

If you missed the W-Item materia during the raid it can be dug up at bone village.

Double and triple growth weapons are not needed but will definitely make this go by faster, the 2 triple growth weapons are clouds apocalypse found in the ancient forest and Cid's scimitar found in the underground reactor in junon this weapon is missable, by this point you should have plenty of double growth weapons so I'm not going to list them all.

The double growth armlet called rune armlet can be purchased at bone village.

Now make your way to fort condor and purchase 24 ALL materias which sell for 1.4 million Gil once mastered.

Once you have the weapons and armor and all materias continue into the northen cave until you get to the point where the party will split up, choose the left path for at least the 3 characters you're planning on using.
On the next screen you will split up again choose the up path for at least the 3 characters you're planning on using.

Now you should be at a swamp like area, in this area equip as many ALLs as you can (with double growth W&A it should be 8 per character) now run around until you run into a monster called the magic pot which you must feed an elixir before you can kill it, each one will net you 8000 EXP and 1000 AP making it the best place to master materia and also to reach level 99.
Once you master an ALL materia don't forget to remove it and equip the new one that was born from the one you just mastered

You will need to Master 72 ALL materias to reach 100 million gil

Level up All materia to max on every sloth with either double or triple weapons in Northern Cave then sale them all keep doing this until you get enough money its the quickest and the easiest materia to level up

Like said by "doom" your gonna want to sell mastered "all" materia for 1.4 million a piece. You can buy "all" from fort condor and max them in the last dungeon
on the enemy "magic pot" for 1000 ap per pot (up to two) or "movers" for 2400 ap per battle.
Get your characters "growth" times 2 weapon (or 3, but only cid and cloud have a growth times 3 weapon) and times 2 armor to speed up your farming, and just farm magic pots, and movers. When ones mastered, simply replace it with the new one that's created when the original is mastered. You can steal elixirs from the enemies in the same area as the pots and movers or use the W-item glitch to get an unlimited supply. For a more in depth explanation as to the location of growth 2/3 equipment and where to find magic pots and movers watch the video provided.

This trophy, along with Liege of Leveling, will require the most grinding out of any other trophy. You need to have 99,999,999 gil all at once. In order to properly grind out 99,999,999 gil, you will require as many All Materias as possible, the W-Item Materia, at least two Elixirs, equipment with Double or Triple Materia growth rate, and access to the Northern Cavern.

All Materia is sold in infinite quantity in the shop at Fort Condor in Part 2 onwards, after the battle with Shinra. Failing the Huge Materia battle mission, however, causes this Materia to become missable. Buy as many All Materia as you can to fill as many equipment slots possible.

The W-Item Materia can be found towards the end of Part 2, when the party infiltrates Shinra. In the Sector 8 Tunnel, after defeating the Turks, continue all the way south to the very end of the tunnel. Once you reach the end, you will find a save point and the W-Item Materia on the floor. If you missed this Materia during the initial raid, it can be excavated from the Bone Village. However, the chances are very low, and it is a frustrating process, so be sure to pick it up in the tunnel.

Location of the W-Item Materia in the Sector 8 Tunnel.

There are two Triple Growth weapons that will make this process much faster. Their locations are the following:

Apocalypse: After defeating Ultimate Weapon, use a Black Chocobo to enter the Ancient Forest near Cosmo Canyon that is now accessible. The sword can be found at the end of the forest.

Scimitar: After defeating the Carry Armor in the Junon Underwater Reactor. Be sure to open the chest with this weapon before setting off in the submarine.

Now, you must take full advantage of the W-Item Duplication glitch. Specifically, you must duplicate as many Elixirs as possible. To do the W-Item Duplication glitch, equip the W-Item Materia onto a character then enter a battle.

1) Select W-Item.
2) Select first item (Elixir).
3) Use it on enemy.
4) Select second item (Elixir).
5) Cancel out.

Repeat steps 4 & 5.

Duplicate as many Elixirs as you can. Credit to MistressFortune for these instructions.

Finally, head to the Northern Cavern. Equip the Apocalypse Sword on Cloud and the Scimitar on Cid and fill as many Materia slots as possible with All Materia. If possible, equip the third character with a Double Growth weapon and fill in any remaining All Materia into its slots. Enter the swamp area of the Northern Cavern and wander around until you begin entering battles with Magic Pots or Movers. Once you're in the right area, place down your save point and begin to grind for AP.

The swamp area in the Northern Cavern where Magic Pots and Movers are located.

To get the most AP and EXP, seek out the Movers and Magic Pot enemies. Movers come in groups of three and yield a total of 800 AP each, for a total of 2,400 AP per battle, but no EXP. For the Magic Pots, simply use an Elixir on the Magic Pot and it will become vulnerable to attack. Do not attempt to attack it before using an Elixir. Once you defeat it, you will earn 8,000 EXP per defeated Magic Pot and 1,000 AP per defeated Magic Pot. AP earned in battle can be tripled with the Apocalypse Sword or Scimitar.

The Magic Pot enemies located in the Northern Cavern.

The Mover enemies located in the Northern Cavern.

The goal is to master as many All Materia that is needed to obtain 99,999,999 gil. When an All Materia is mastered, a new one is birthed and can be mastered anew. A mastered All Materia can be sold for a whopping 1,400,000 gil, and it is rather fast to master using Magic Pots. Assuming you begin with 0 gil, a total of 72 mastered All Materia will need to be sold to reach 99,999,999 gil.

Enabling Turbo Mode while grinding out AP to master All Materia will significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to reach 99,999,999 gil.

For this achievement, you must max out your gil, having 100m all at the same time (so this is not a cumulative achievement). The best option to do this involves an in-game glitch that allows you to duplicate items, and using those to level up All Materia items which will sell for 1.4m each. You'll need to max out 74 of these if you're starting this grind with no cash at all.

You will want the W-Item materia I mentioned in the Road Map for this. The missable Scimitar weapon also helps, as well as another unmissable weapon (Apocalypse) found in the Ancient Forest side-quest. A third weapon with the Double Growth skill helps as well (those two weapons have Triple Growth) but is not strictly necessary. A list of weapons with the Growth skill can be found here.

To learn about the item duplication glitch, as well as how to farm gil for this achievement and experience for the "Liege of Leveling" achievement, see here.

Taken from the past Maybe this glitch was fixed in the PS4 version. You must have W-Item materia available, which gives you the right to use two items at a time. The essence of the glitch: we fly to Wutai to the beach area, where the healthy turtle ADAMANTAIMAI lives, which does nothing, but only casts simple and magical barriers on itself, that is, it does not touch or interfere with you. Having received a move with a character who owns W-Item matter, we select the item that we want to duplicate and assign to someone, then choosing the same item a second time, we highlight the character to whom we want to give, but DO NOT CONFIRM the choice, but cancel and (confirmed - canceled) repeat until the number of items reaches 99. We perform a trick with an expensive item and then sell it. Can be done with elixirs, which are needed to feed the MAGIC POT living inside the Northern Cave, killing which gives a lot of exp and AP (for pumping up matter). In parallel, you can upgrade characters and ALL materia (after installing it on a weapon that gives a bonus to the AP received), which is sold at the master for 1.4 million gils.

On the 3rd disc, in the location Inside Northern Cave (on the way to Sephiroth), you come across Mover enemies (3 of them at a time) - their drop is 90000g and 2400 AP, which is what you need to pump up matter. No Exp points are awarded from these enemies.
