How to unlock the Shuriken Join Us achievement in FINAL FANTASY VII - Definitive Guide

This is fairly simple, it is just choosing the right responses to her.

When talking to Yuffie this is what you have to say:

1. Not interested
2. Petrified
3. Wait a second!
4. That's right
5. Lets hurry on

She is easy to find, just run around in the world map and inside the forest areas, soon you will encounter her, just win the fight and choose the above responses and she will join :)

Edit: As mentioned by TheGreatKoala you will not encounter her till after the Mythril Mines.

Anyone having this glitched? I have her in my party but no achievement...

Sorry pal, it popped for me as my 3 characters walked off screen. Have you tried a hard reset on the Xbox to see if that does it? As some times on other games that has helped me.

I beleive that you can get her at any point. As long as you walk through the forest areas on the world map. You will encounter her at some point. I tried on an other account and got the options wrong for 3 encounters, then again did the right ones and she still joined and achievement popped.

The first time you can encounter her is in the junon forrests right at the first time you reach junon.

It should be noted that after the fight, DO NOT attempt to use the save point on the left side of the area. Doing this will cause Yuffie to spring her trap, steal some of your gil, and flee.

I have a feeling you can only encounter her around the junon area and nowhere else. Can anyone verify this?

Has anyone else other than TD BradleyHeat had this glitch? I battled her outside Junon, joined my party, no achievement. Hard reset the console, no achievement. I tried moving her to the active group, levelled her up, got her a new limit break, still nothing. Now on the boat to Costa Del Sol. Stupidly my last backup save is back in Midgar so wondering if this popped for anyone further down the line like perhaps when getting to Wutai.

I found her in the large forest opposite Gongaga. That was after the Gold Saucer so no, not just the Junon area.

Just to add to my issue. I couldn't get it to pop no matter what I did so had to reload a previous save and had no issue getting it the second time.

Yuffie is a missable character (only in the sense you don't have to find her. However she can be found over and over until you get it right so it isn't one to worry about).

She is obtained from forest areas on the map. You need to run around in any forest you find and hope she appears in a fight. The first forest is just after the Mythril Mines that you enter shortly after leaving Midgar. You will know the mines as you run in to the Turks before leaving them. Just after those mines you will see bushy areas on the map. Yuffie is a random encounter within those.

When she does appear, she is easy to beat. Once she is beaten you have to choose the correct dialog options (do not use the save point). The dialog options are:

Yuffie: "You spikey-headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time!"

"Not interested"

Yuffie: "You're pretty scared of me, huh?"

"Petrified"

Yuffie: "I'm really gonna leave! Really!"

"Wait a second"

Yuffie: "You want me to go with you?"

"That's right"

Yuffie: "All right! I'll go with you!"

"Let's hurry on"

She will run away and potentially steal from you if you choose the wrong options here. If you do mess up then run around in the forest until she appears again.

You will first need to encounter her as a random battle inside the forests near Junon. Once encountered, you will need to defeat her, then speak to her after the battle and make specific dialogue choices (be sure not to try and use the save point, she'll rob you and run away). Follow this guide for how to conclude the conversation so she joins your party.

This trophy is unlocked after recruiting the secret character Yuffie into the party. Yuffie can be recruited any time after exiting the Mythril Mines dungeon. She can be found in the forests near Junon or Gongaga. She must first be encountered in battle. Once you encounter the Mystery Ninja enemy, defeat her, and you will end up in a forest area with a save point – do not approach the save point. If you do, she will rob you and run away, forcing you to locate her all over again. Rather, talk to the mysterious ninja and tell her exactly what she wants to hear. The choices that lead to her joining your party are as follows:

  • ”Not interested.”
  • ”Petrified…”
  • ”Wait a second!”
  • ”That’s right.”
  • ”Let’s hurry.”

Choosing any wrong answer will cause Yuffie to run away and possibly steal from you, forcing you to restart the process. See here for some additional info, courtesy of Blaze Naruto Shippuden:

For the Yuffie joining the party trophy, Shuriken Join Us. If you don't answer the questions correctly, it could lead to adding more points of getting Yuffie on the date. Just getting her to join your party, will boost her points by 10 and take you to 20. Failing a question and retrying again, will boost her even more if you get her to join you.

Once Yuffie is satisfied with your answers, she will join your party and you will obtain this trophy.

Yuffie can be found in any forest on the world map (you are especially likely to stumble upon it in the areas between Fort Condor and Junon). Wander around there for a bit and you'll have to fight a Mystery Ninja enemy. After winning, you will find yourself in a clearing with a Save Point. Do not save under any circumstances! You need to talk to Yuffie and convince him to join you. Correct responses to Yuffie's comments:

"One more time, let's go one more time!" - "Not interested"
"You're pretty scared of me, huh!?" - "...Petrified"
"I'm really gonna leave! REALLY!" - "Wait a second!"
"Do you want me to go with you?" - "...That's right"
"All right! I'll go with you!" - "...Let's hurry on"

Personally, I only met her in the forest between Gongaga and the destroyed reactor.
