Discovered buried treasure with a little help from a chocobo.

How to unlock the Gysahl Wreath achievement in Final Fantasy XIII - Definitive Guide

First you will need to unlock chocobo riding, this becomes available in Chapter 11. You will need to do missions 12, 13 and 14 for this. Once you mount a chocobo, it can look for treasure. Chocobos automatically sense nearby treasure. The faster the speech balloon with the ! animates, the closer you are. After digging up the 20th item (guaranteed to be a Ribbon), you will be awarded the achievement.

This map shows all the chocobo treasure locations:

This can be done in Chapter 11 or in the post-game.

do not fret DL CyberSkulls link says you only have to dig 20 times to get it but on the side note you can optionally just use a save point on a chocobo near a few dig spots and load which will reset the possible 5. Rinse ..... Repeat

What I meant was getting the ribbon is the dig that gives you the achievement.

It's worth noting from the Chocobo gil farming video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-e5ya5MwtuY that you don't have to save and reload if you've unlocked the teleport Ci'eth stone, particularly if you've unlocked both on each end of the main Gran Pulse area, since teleporting also resets all the dig locations. So if you wait a bit until you've cleared some of the marks, you don't have to save and reload, which is a touch tedious (particularly if you've not loaded the game onto the hard drive).

When you complete Mark Mission 12, 13 & 14 you are now able to ride Chocobos and they will appear on the Map. The easy way to get this Achievement is to make your way to The Northern Antrepass - Mah'habara - Maw of the Abyss ( Where you saw a Behemoth fighting a Megistotherian ) There is a save point and a Chocobo nearby.

At any given time there are 20 possible dig sites and only 5 will be active... it's random. At this location there is a lake nearby with another Chocobo on the shore... make your way around the lake from right to left.. as you do a lap around this lake there are 5 / 20 of the dig sites. If you find a dig make your way back to the Save point and save your game, pause and quit.

Reload your game and the Dig sites will respawn... repeat the lap around the lake and in about 30 - 45 minutes you will find 20 digs and the Ribbon and the Achievement will be yours.

Thank you man, it really helped. But it was a little hard to understand what you exactly ment, so maybe you can make your guide a little more detailed for other players. But it is a good strategy, thanks.

Before you can actually ride a Chocobo, you must do missions 01-14. Mission 14 itself unlocks the ability to ride them. As you're riding around the Archlyte Steppe on your feathered friend, you might notice an exclamation point pop up from his head - that indicates that there's treasure nearby. Follow the direction the Chocobo's head is facing and you'll be directed to the buried treasure.

There are two types of treasure you might find while on your Chocobo. They are as follows:

1: Infinite treasure (respawn each time you re-enter the area)
12.84% – Millerite
12.84% – Rhodochrosite
12.65% – Cobaltite
10.19% – Chocobo Plume
9.94% – Chocobo Tail Feather
9.52% – Gold Dust
8.04% – Dawnlight Dew
7.55% – Dusklight Dew
6.32% – Gold Nugget
5.00% – Moogle’s Doll
4.75% – Plush Chocobo

2: Milestone treasure (after digging a certain number of times)
Gold Nugget (1x)
Tetradic Crown (5x)
Tetradic Tiara (10x)
Entite Ring (15x)
Ribbon (20x)

For the achievement, you must find 20 peices of treasure. Once you find the Ribbon, the achievement will unlock. For possible treasure locations, use this map.

Note: There will only be five active treasure spots each time you enter the Archlyte Steppe.

Once you complete Cie'th Stone Mission 14: 'Defender of the Flock', you'll gain access to chocobos all over the Archlyte Steppe. Riding chocobos will allow you to travel significantly faster, as well as access previously inaccessible areas. The main benefit from having a chocobo, however, is the fact that they can dig up treasure! As you ride around Gran Pulse, you'll occasionally see an exclamation mark ! appear above the chocobo's head, indicating that treasure is nearby. The closer you get to the treasure, the faster the exclamation mark will bounce. Once you arrive at the dig spot (always indicated by a patch of dirt on the ground), simply press when prompted to dig. This will result in a random item from a set selection. However every five digs you perform, you'll receive a pre-determined item. Upon your 20th dig, you'll receive a Ribbon, and along with it you'll receive this trophy.
