How to unlock the Limit Breaker achievement in Final Fantasy XIII - Definitive Guide

The easiest way:

On chapter 11, go to the 2nd floor and start mission 22. It's against Ambling Bellows. (Make sure you get a 'Preemptive Strike')

Set Vanille as the party leader, you will stagger the enemy very quickly.

Once staggered call out Vanille's Summon 'Hecatoncheir'. Hit Ambling Bellows a few times by pressing 'A', then press Y to use the finishing move 'Gaian Salvo'.

This finishing move is level 3 if you use it quick enough. This got me 177,000 damage and unlocked the achievement once i'd won the fight. Good luck :)

Great solution on using Vanille's summons. I just did it on some random oversized Ghostbusters Slimer wannabe reject that had well over 300k to kill which gave me enough hits to stun him since I was unable to sneak up on him and did not have any of those unseeable items. ;)

you may want to add that this works on most any enemy over 100,000 hp. I was able to get this on a behemoth king. very good solution non the less. nice work and thanks!

Should be worth noting that this achievement will not unlock until the battle is over, should the attack not kill the enemy. That freaked me out for a bit.

I just got this playing normally. I used Shiva on Proudclad, didn't even realise until after the battle that she must have knocked 100k+ off him.

I got this playing normally, used Bahamut on Proudclad (first fight), staggered to around 700%, and did almost 250,000 damage. The strange thing is that I had called Bahamut on many of the marks and bosses in Chapter 11 and the damage seemed to be capped at 99,119 on enemies staggered to 999.9%. I was able to repeat that exact amount of damage on several different enemies. I didn't level up any roles after Chapter 11, just got the Crystarium upgrade from beating the chapter, and that seemed to remove the damage cap.

Was able to get this on the second Proudclad fight (barely though) using Fang and Bahamut. Staggered him while in gestalt mode and landed 150,000 damage on him with Megaflare.

I got this on a Behemoth King in the Archylte Steppe. I immediately used Fang's Bahamut in Gastalt mode. Just use Megaflare and you'll easily score a 140,000+ damage blow. This should be a lot faster and easier than some of the other suggestions.

Use a Deceptisol before the battle to get insta stagger

worked like a charm. i did have to hit him a few times to get his chain gauge up a bit, but your method is quick & painless.

Perfect! Thanks. I managed to get 344,000 in the post-game using this method. I used a Deceptisol, hit the Behemoth King once with Fang to stagger it, then did everything else as described. The stagger meter was around 844%.

Beautiful, easy way of getting this. Thanks a bunch! I would add however, like the above commenter said, you may have to boost the stagger meter up. I tried at first with no stagger ratio and got about 90,000. I got the stagger up to about 70% and got a 190,000 hit.

I did this one while doing the mission 18 hunt against sahagins. I got a preemptive strike and then staggered all the enemies (wasn't very hard). I then called out bahamut using fang as party leader. I hit its gesalt mode and proceeded to use megaflare level one. It did 130k+ damage to each monster. Its a very simple achievement to obtain.

Party- Fang, Lightning, Hope
Paradigms- Guerilla (SAB, RAV, SYN)
Relentless Assault (COM, RAV, RAV)
Perpetual Magic (RAV, MED, MED)

I had Fang's Commando role completely maxed out when doing this (post-Chapter 13). In the Archylte Steppe, find an Adamanchelid (one of the large gray monsters whose legs you DON'T have the option of attacking). Auto-Debuff with Fang while Hope casts Haste.

When everyone has haste, switch to Relentless Assault. After filling the chain gauge about half way, call out Fang's Eidolon, Bahamut, while staying in relentless assault. Press the X button when the Gestalt meter is full and then press A for the remainder of the battle. Bahamut's final attack did 411k+ damage for me, killing the enemy and popping the achievement.

If you are underdeveloped and in danger, switch to Perpetual Magic to heal while still building the chain gauge.

I got this one by equiping Vanille with the genji gloves. Farming the adamantoise for the trapezoid. As you are spamming the DEATH spell, if it doesn't kill it it does increasing damage each time. So in the one fight, I got the 100K achievemnet, killed it with death, and got the trapezoid.

Find a pack of Gorgonopsids (low level dog-like mobs) that run around The Archylte Steppe, have fang as leader, summon Bahamut and use megaflare (does not need to be lvl3) and BOOM 125k+ dmg, achievement unlocked.

I prefer to play with Lightning and I didn't want to use Fang's Eidolon solution. So I waited for the Genji Glove. I've got it later in the game and it was quite hard to stagger any creature high enough to deliver such a mighty blow.

Finally, mission 42 - Antihero worked for me. I killed all the small borgbears and staggered Borgbear Hero to 999.9% with Tri-disaster paradigm (without any ailments on him). Then I switched to Bully and waited for synergist and saboter to cast as many enchantments and ailments as possible without attacking. When stagger time was almost over I launched Lightning's attack... You figure the rest.

I got it by using Fang's eidolin's super attack (Y) on the last form of final boss. Got me around 250,000. Make sure he is fully staggered (999%)

Fang's Eidolon, Bahamut can easily do over 200k damage with its "Mega Flare" attack if you don't have the accessory which breaks the 99.999 damage limit for any of your characters.

I did it when fighting Barthandules 2 when you come out of obera Staggered him to 999.99% then got smite in at the end. Fang is your best Com over all so max her out and you'll get it.

There are two ways to break 100,000 damage with a single attack: using Fang's Bahamut Eidolon on a heavily staggered enemy, or through the use of the Genji Glove accessory. If you choose the former, stagger an enemy and attempt to get the stagger bar as close to 999.99% as possible, then summon Bahamut. Fill the Gestalt Bar before changing to Gestalt Mode, then use your Lv. 3 Megaflare. Doing this can easily exceed 300,000 damage. If you choose the latter, simply use powerful skills on staggered enemies - Fang's Highwind is almost guaranteed to break 100,000 damage if used on a staggered foe. Once you deal 100,000+ damage with a single attack and then finish the battle, you'll receive this trophy after the battle is over.

This trophy, for some reason, popped when I was on the way to Proud Clod fight. I'm assuming it glitches on me by popping early since this is a trophy that I have usually gotten post game. Best strategy I have found is to have a genji glove on Fang. I mainly have gotten this trophy fighting the tortoises in the Steppe. I stagger a tortoise after debufs and use Fang's Highwind.

There are two ways this can be done. One is using a Genji glove (obtained from missions 51, 62 and 63) with Fang. Stagger an enemy and drive it's stagger percentage up with two Ravagers. If her strength is high enough and her weapon strong enough, she will easily be able to hit over 100k.

The second way is to use Bahamut, Fang's eidolon. While controling Fang, get an enemies stagger bar up to about halfway, then summon Bahamut. Fight alongside him for as long as possible, so you can get the enemy staggered and raise your Gestalt meter at the same time. Once the enemy is staggered, press to use Megaflare. This should deal over 100,000 damage. If the enemy doesn't die from the attack, just finish the battle as normal and the achievement should unlock at the end.

A popular place to do this is the Archlyte Steppe - Northern Highplain, just before the entrance to Mah'habara. The two enemies fighting there will enable you to get an easy pre-emptive strike. The Behemoth has a stagger of 850% so should be easy to hit over 100k on when staggered.

We just throw a power debuff on Fang, and when she is staggered, we can easily knock out more than 100 obliques.

When you start farming Schaolon Gui for Darck Mater with equipped Genji Glov, the achievement will not take long to arrive.
Well, you can also summon Bahamut and with a full gestal scale and make a mega flame.
