This was my least favorite boss, since it involved more than just platforming.
I found a cheese that would make this a little easier. You can sit on one of the floating vertical walls on either the left or right side of the arena opposite from the boss, and as the boss shoots his projectiles at you, you can deflect them back at him with no risk of dying in the 1st phase.
In phase two and three, you can follow the same strategy but every 3 sets of projectiles, the boss will shoot bombs at you (the orange projectiles) that can hit you through the wall. What you want to do is jump away in anticipation, and then jump back onto the wall when it's clear.
The only issue that I had was when the boss decided to get really close to you, which meant I had to try to get to the other side of the map deflecting the projectiles at the right time.
