How to unlock the Obtain 500 Stars achievement in Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight - Definitive Guide

There are 195 levels in this game. If you get 2 stars on every level, you'll have 390 stars. That means you'll need 3 stars on at least 110 levels to get 500 stars, then 2 stars on the other 85.

Obviously, if you can only manage to get one star on some levels then you'll need to get 3 stars on more than 110, but 110 is the absolute bare minimum with the levels that the game currently offers. This will be much easier if you decide to pay for extra power-ups and lives, but it won't be necessary. It'll just take longer if you choose to play through for free.

As mentioned in the other solutions, there are methods you can use to not lose lives (dashboard and quit), but you do risk losing some progress if you do this, as the game doesn't seem to save after every level.

Also, this isn't guaranteed, but there is the possibility that the game will eventually be updated with more levels. If that ever happens, this achievement could become a lot easier. But until then, just remember, 110 levels.

Edit: If you're going to vote negative, I'd appreciate if you'd leave a comment as to why. Since the game randomises the gems, there is literally no way to provide an in-depth guide for the levels. It'll be different for every single person. What I've written is pretty much the only kind of guide you're going to get for this achievement outside of general gameplay tips.

The achievement's definitely obtainable, the tracking says 7 people already have it.

Whether or not they paid to get it so quickly, though...that's another question.

I'm on level 180 with 429 stars right now and have not paid a penny towards this game, the achievement is very much obtainable just very time consuming as my playtime is close to 70 hours anyone who's done it in less has most likely made in game purchases

it is possible to getit without paying (im doing it that way), but it just takes a shitload of time. The game basically wants you to pay for stuff, as i need one more move to complete a level a lot of the time. I refuse to pay so yeah... it takes long :P

The Peggle solution is deleting your save, replaying offline to get stars and when you log back online, your stars synch with the ones you have and adds to them. But it's been confirmed that this does not work.

Are the gems definitely random? I have played one level three times and the gems always fall in the same pattern?

If you replay the same level, they'll stay the same. But if you play another level in between, or turn off the game, the gems change.

i only have 49 stars unlocked, but in the tracking it says i have 56, i think playing the same level and gaining three stars will add to your total

no it does not mereel1. You probably had to redo some levels, cause the save system in this game is fucked up. You have to back out to the start title for it to save correctly.

Just a quick tip you can redo the daily reward so that you get a power up everyday

Just grab the reward if you don't want it don't press anything hit the guide then hit pause on the frozen build then manage game then delete your save from CONSOLE only. Reload the game and try again. It's worth it

Got this today finally!!! Didn't spend a penny either 😀 it would also be good to note that on level 175 you get 15 snowballs which are great for getting those last stars for your 500 😀 just go through your map and do any that you got 1 star on near the end of a mission pop an extra moves for the 5 bonus to give you that boost for the 3 star. Just things to think about

Could you please update the solution to add the current level amount and the summer levels?

Summer levels can be unlocked if you complete enough levels so no need to pay with real money.

While this is still a grind, and still very much luck-based (even if you're willing to pay for powerups), this playlist shows beating every single level (including the new levels) without using a single powerup: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmyvG3PGXY83zf4M2OSba...

Some good tips on some of the levels that can help, but don't expect miracles -- this will still be a brutal grind.

Also it was mentioned above that you can unlock the summer levels for free -- this is true, but it requires beating all 285 winter levels. If you've beaten 285 winter levels you're probably already pretty damn close to 500 stars, and if not you should probably go back over the levels you only 1-starred to get some more stars. If you'd like to get a sense of the difficulty of the summer levels, you can see them in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GImtrTWKP6s&list=PLmyvG3...

Halloween levels can also be unlocked for free, but only after beating all 20 summer levels. No idea of the difficulty of those levels.

I found an easy solution. When starting the game you do not use life, and when it is over and ruined it and writes it to Too Bad, then you press the Xbox button to quit and restart the game. New hands will give you and your life does not lose it.

Yeah it would make more sense if they had the achievement, but he really said all there is to getting the achievement. He gave the math that's needed to get the 500 stars in the least amount possible. Just because he doesn't have the achievement doesn't invalidate his guide, he just didn't grind out the game long enough to get it.

I found a glitch/bug, but I can't do it again, it was luck (I don't speak english, sorry about that), maybe somebody finds how to do it.

Well, I was playing on Xbox One, "Beat the clock" level (early levels, when Anna and Elsa are childrens). I was trying to get 3 stars, I was so concentrated that I accidentally hit the "more time" power up (I don't have any power up, so the game opened the "buy more power ups" window) While the buying window was opening, I pressed two times A and one time B, and the game buys me 1 more time power up, but my account have excatly the same USD that I had (1.73 USD).

I have an US account, but my Xbox country is set to Chile, so every price has show in CLP (Chilean pesos). I don't know if this can affect the glitch. And I can't do it again, and the other thing that I don't know if this glitch is only for timed levels or not.

If you want to try it, please note that I don't know the "more time" powerup price. In CLP, is less than 800 and more than 700. (1 USD = 651 CLP), and if somebody finds how to do the glitch, please write a solution :D

This achievement is truly horrendous. If you are just skimming through the list of achievements and deciding whether this is an easy game to 100% as a free to play player, take my advice, forget this game exists and don't look back.

However if, like me, it's already too late for you then here is some advice that helped me out:

1. You can dashboard and close the game to avoid losing any lives if the level isn't going to plan. I didn't lose any progress using this method as is suggested in the solution above.
2. You can restart a level before making any moves without losing a life, this can help you get a more ideal starting setup.
3. Only use power-ups and snowballs if you know they will guarantee you the win in order to avoid wasting them.
4. Don't waste time trying to three star every level, as soon as you beat one move onto the next.
5. Time trials are your best friend, if you can quickly make combos you will rack up a score so high that getting a three star should be easily guaranteed.
6. Don't waste time watching any video guides for levels, this game is 10% skill and 90% luck... Watching someone else's single successful run is only going to depress you when it takes you thirty minutes to accomplish something similar yourself.

I have a little tip for levels that require tons of luck.

When you start a level and there are no matches that are going to help you. Simply press cn_start then go to RETRY LEVEL. As long as you don't make any moves it won't take a life away and you will get an entirely new board. :)

Good luck!

I got this achievement yesterday, but it was glitchy (a little)

I unlocked 500 stars, but the achievement didn't unlock, so I played 3 more levels and get 1 more star, so I got 503 stars and still the achivement didn't pop.

You need to press B until the start screen, then you need to close the game and start it again. Then you choose "single player" and while the game was loading, achievement unlock! :)

DO NOT TRY AND GRIND THIS ACHIEVEMENT, IT IS NOT WORTH IT

Seriously, I am doing you a favor. Forget about it. There are plenty of other games in your backlog you will have so much more joy playing.

Still here? You must really love the pain you are trying to inflict yourself going for this achievement. What's that? Your SO started the game, grew tired of it after an hour and now you are stuck with the grind to get the completion? Poor you. Since I didn't manage to scare you off, let me give you a few tips.

First, TehJofus' guide states that the game has 195 levels to complete. At the time of my pop, I had completed 228 levels without reaching the end meaning you won't have to worry about getting three stars on 110 levels early on. Just play and progress. Stuck on a level? Take a break from the hard levels and go three stars some of the early levels you missed in the beginning. I only backtracked for the last 15 stars to 500 so this first tip isn't that important.

This one is: Conserve your powerups! I did won this achievement without any purchases. Of course if your money is just burning in your pocket buy as many powerups you want and have your 500 stars in an afternoon. If you don't want to buy this achievement, I recommend you save the powerups, the game will give you through progress, for when you are really stuck on a level. Depending on your playstyle, some levels will be more challenging than other and if one just seem like a wall, it's time to melt, burn, or hack your way through. I think I had a handful of levels I just couldn't pass where the powerups got me through.

Before starting a level, try analyzing your first couple of moves. Are you supposed to remove all the ice in 15 moves and your first three moves isn't even near a block of ice? Don't bother. Exit to map and restart the level. If you power through the levels with little to no effort, then don't waste your time restarting the levels but this might be handy when things get tougher later on.

Finally, learn to like puzzle games. Or at least tolerate them. If you don't, I fear you will hate every hour you will invest in this grind and you won't even recognize yourself on the other side. I chose to approach this grind with a cup of coffee in the morning before the rest of the house woke up. A pleasant 15-20 minutes mental wake up exercise before the day began. Make this a time of relaxation for yourself. The five lives will limit how long you can grind at a time so don't think you can sweat this one out in a session or two.

Happy hunting and may your sanity stay intact all the way through.

This is the most time consuming and frustrating trophy in the game. The first steps towards this trophy are learning the methods which allow you to save lives and a lot of money at the same time. See below for a step-by-step mini guide:

XMB Quitting Method (Recommended) :

Step 1 - If you fail a level then do not press any button to progress the menus.

Step 2 - On the PS4, hold the button then press "close application". For PS3 users, press the button once and quit by pressing triangle over the game on the XMB and close from the options menu that appears on the right hand side or simply hold the PS button for 2 seconds and press quit game.

Step 3: Relaunch the application and return to the level you recently failed. If you fail again simply repeat steps one and two until you pass and/or earn 3 stars on that level.

Method Number 2: Lives regeneration trick (Not Recommended) (I also recommend you do this only in offline mode).

Step 1: Use up all of your 15 starting lives but don't just lose them on purpose, just continue playing normally until you lose them all).

Step 2: (Both PS4 & PS3 users do this method the same way). Quit the game and return to the XMB/Home screen. Whilst at the home screen travel over to the settings tab and press "Date & Time settings".

Step 3: Skip the date forward a Week, Month or Year (whatever time you feel like doing. Testing this I skipped years and months both worked perfectly). *I can not confirm that doing it forward a week works. Sometimes it did whilst other times it did not register*.

Step 4: Confirm the date and time settings, then return back to the game. This method will rebuild 3 lives and only 3 lives which is why I don't recommend it unless you really need them.

The reason these methods are needed is because you will more than likely be spending a lot of time replaying the same levels over and over trying to earn 3 stars whilst also completing the objective set in that level. Each time you quit the game and retry that particular level changes the positioning of the gems. This is where luck is involved.

The game is not just luck based. To earn 3 stars on each level you will also need to understand the scoring system. Each levels point objective changes depending on the difficulty of that particular level. Most of the time the second star is around double the amount you need for the one star to pass the level so if the points for one star are 10,000, then you will need at least 20,000 for 2 stars and so on. This is not a definitive answer and adding the objectives for all 195 levels would fill my character limit for this guide. I suggest posting your best 3 star scores for any level under this guide, to help other players who are struggling with a particular level. You can find the score needed for 1 star at the top of the screen to the left hand side of the 3 snowflakes (stars).

A good tip for the time based levels is too make matches as quick as possible. You earn more points making 3 "3 gem matches" quickly than making one big 5 gem match and creating a powerup. This is because you earn a points bonus for speed so remember: The quicker you make matches and the more matches you make in quick succession, the higher your scores per match will be.

For levels with limited moves you can still make moves quick, however be more conservative with your time. Speed will cause you to make mistakes. You can make a match every 5-7 seconds and still earn a speed bonus.

Again for the limited move levels try and make as many powerup gems as you can. Mixing 2 powerup gems can quickly turn a game around in a matter of seconds. It is important you play smart and calmly but also quickly. For more information on how to make each powerup gem and their actions refer to each of their respective trophies.

There are a total of 195 levels in the game. For each level you complete perfectly , you get 3 stars.
A little advice for saving lives: if you are sure that the level is failing, without waiting for the end and loss, exit the game via the ps button ... lives are saved during this move. Also, all bonus goodies like: pestle, snowball, hourglass, etc... are saved (even if you used them during the passage of the level). If you replay the level again (in case of failure), one life will be taken from you. If you are completing a level for a while, then it is first advisable to pause the game (so that time stops) and then calmly exit using the ps button.

Bonuses make the passage much easier, especially ICE (a five-pointed star made of ice), what do you say... if you can get ice for logging in EVERY DAY? I think... that you have as many days left until the end of the game as there are levels left for you to complete for 3 stars, because... completing any level using ice is quite simple.
Here is a link to a video that details the process of getting any prize you want for logging in each day.

Yes, a good way to save or accumulate lives and bonuses is to press the PS button... But you don’t have to rush to press the PS button to exit the game in case of defeat (time has run out or the moves have run out).... Even after the sign FAILURE and menacing music... .you are given the choice to continue the game or not...that is, do you want to spend the bonuses that you have...in order to extend time or add moves...it's up to you...to finish the level by spending bonuses or just calmly exit through the PS button..while saving life....and maybe the bonuses you spent)...so you don’t have to look at the timer...or at the number of moves remaining..play calmly.....and replay. ..Life is removed only after your confirmation.....RESET BUTTON..

Everything is much simpler: in the settings we move the date forward a day, and your lives will not run out at all.

Having an unopened “daily” bonus, turn off the Internet, take the bonus, (circle) go to the game menu, minimize the game, change the date in the console settings to two days ahead, raise the game and take the bonus again, repeat the procedure endlessly. Video guide (en).

There is no need to turn off the Internet. To receive daily prizes, you need to rewind the time on the console 1 day and 1 minute forward. It is not necessary to exit the game, just return to the main menu, rewind the time, and go back to the map.

Well, also, if you’re too lazy to download the game again and again every time, you can change the date in the system settings and thus get endless lives.
