How to unlock the Upcycle achievement in Galacticare - Definitive Guide

After you finish the story of the level, and HEAL asks you whether you want to stay or move on to next hospital, exit the level, select the level again, and press restart sandbox mode, this way you will get the normal ammount of money for curing patients, and you can get 5 stars on this level the same way you can get it on other levels.

This was the only level where my throughput got in the green before my finances and it caused me to reach 5 stars but not unlock the achievement or in-game challenge. I'm assuming this means all of your rating categories need to be in the green along with having 5 stars in order to unlock these 5 star achievements.

I had to have about 25 efficiency upgrades to get the financial requirement, and I also had about 12 loamgates to get enough patients. This was the first mission where I had to care about finances.

I'm not sure about the rewards, but the achievement doesn't unlock until you finish the chapter and it goes into sandbox mode. You're probably right about the finances, but that's another reason why it might not unlock when hitting 5 stars.

I removed my consultants because they were each paid over $3k. I also put the money-generating upgrade in many rooms (besides diagnostics, they don't pay well). This helped immensely in getting finances to the green. I also had around 8-10 loam gates if you're struggling to get the throughput. Just make sure none of your rooms have long queues, especially look at the check-in counter. That is easy to overlook and can be a bottleneck in throughput.
