Win the Grand Prize 5 times, then hire Kairobot using the Hollywood Agent

To save time, go to System -> Options and set Speed to Fast

For Kairobot the following conditions must be met:
- Grand Prize - Win 5 times
- 1 of your games sold more than 20M copies
- Y14 or later

To make a winning grand prize game, you need to have 160+ stats in all 4 areas (fun, creativity, graphic, sound). Best way to achieve this is by having at least 3 to 4 hackers with at least 1 of them mastering all jobs. Higher the level of hacking the better but it costs a lot of data points so this is not required.

Game genre should be Amazing one like RPG + Fantasy or Simulation + Romance. There are many more of this you can find online. After you have made this game and got to Hall of Fame (32+ in review), you can make a sequel of this game. I recommend using a sequel for grand prize, because sequels automatically get +50 in Fun to begin with.

First, start by writing the proposal with the hacker with highest Scenario stat. Next, choose the hacker with highest Graphics stat. Last, choose the hacker with highest Sound stat. Using them twice in a row makes them less efficient, so you may want to go with second highest and alternate.

Finally, you may need slight boost like graphics at 140. So, buy all the boosts from the salesman to account for that situation.

Hopefully, this gets 160+ in all stats and you will win the grand prize. Repeat this 5 times, you can only win 1 grand prize per year, so it will take minimum 5 years.

As for selling more than 20M copies, it is best done with Sonny Playstatus 2. Previous consoles, while it is possible, just don't have enough hardware sales to go that high number. Once Playstatus 2 is available, develop a Grand Prize winning sequel game. Use some money to do advertising (don't spend too much as you might go into negative balance). Hopefully, it sells 20M+. Launching it in the same month as GameDex helps with sales so consider that as well.

If you have met the condition, you will get a magazine notice saying Kairobot is looking for work. Now, hire through Hollywood Agent and you should get Kairobot as a choice. Hire and profit!

It seems like you need to score 38-40 points total from the critics to be a GOTY contender. After that it's chance.

Try to cover as many *different* amazing combinations (according to the wiki) as you can (and not just the same ones) so that you can collect more points to assign to the direction (Realism, Game World, Polish etc). Don't worry about getting genres to Lv5 specifically, it's not necessary to make GOTY's and they'll come in time. You unlock more genres by training specific staff roles in specific ways (see the first URL).

Also don't neglect changing your staff careers and training them with Long Trips asap. A hacker that's been trained from a base role like a coder will have more skill points than a directly hired hacker. You should aim to hire poeple with high energy bars as they don't seem to increase from the training/career changes.

That also means don't waste your money and research points on boosts. It's more worth it to use those points on training a staff member or giving them to "chance boosts", and the money on advertising and training. Try to get your fame up to 90 during game development.

Also you'll almost always make more money selling a game than filling a contract. Only fill contracts if you're super strapped for cash.

Eventually you'll start making games which regularly start scoring above 200 in most categories, boosts start increasing the points by 100 points or more sometimes, and occasionally your categories start reaching 300 or 400. Then it'll be unusual to not have a GOTY.

It's also worth noting that although the game "finishes" at the start of Year 21 in the sense that records stop being stored, you can continue playing to get more GOTY rewards. When you eventually reach 5 GOTY's, you'll get a news notification that a Kairobot is looking to get into the games industry. That's when you hire a Hollywood Agent, recruit him and unlock the achievement.
