To get a higher jump without obtaining the Spin Jump from the Aqueducts. You have to fire a rocket at the ground and when it explodes under you, you are able to press the jump button on the cloud from the rocket which lets you have a much higher jump.

It is also able to be done by getting against a wall, jumping and firing a rocket and as soon as the rocket is fired, pressing the jump button. If you keep to the wall through all this, you will go higher. This method always seemed to be more difficult from my perspective.

You are able to get through most of the Heater Core using the first method of rocket boosting but there are a few places where you will have no choice but to use the second one. Specifically at the end of the level, after the boss, where you have to destroy the lava tubes and there is a jump where you have to use each method one after the other. This is the most difficult part of the achievement in my opinion but you should be able to get in a few tries if you managed to get through the rest of the level.

I've made a video for this achievement, it's an easy and quick way to pop this.

ALERT: To follow this guide you must do the small mech glitch, so if you are against glitches, its not for you!

That said I will leave two videos here, one showing how to small mech and other the complete run to unlock the achievement.

How to small mech:
To do this glitch you must place the mech over a save plataform and jump into it and then time your eject correctly with the screen's flash (timing right is key). It's really important to press eject button just once, so you don't leave the small mech in the sequence. Also I found that pressing the eject button then firing rockets would make it easier and prevent from saving every single time you eject before the right time.
Note: after that you shall not eject, die or quit to menu, these undo the glitch.
