How to unlock the The Flapmaster achievement in Goat Simulator - Definitive Guide

I just got mine today and I used the following mutators to lag the game.

• Ripped Goat
• Goatborn
• Repulsive Goat
• Classy Goat
• Deadgoa6
• Double Jump

I also used the large TV in Goatville.

This is very helpful, +1. I spent 50 minutes without any mutators on and couldn't get past 6 points. With them on, I was able to make it to 11 points within 10 minutes.

In defense to the poster, this achievement is for the mini game, not the location of the modifiers

@KlawWarYsohi they change the goat. If you load the above it slows the mini game down for you.

why do the moves greatly exxagerrate near the ladders? and why are the ladders just too small for a normal "jump" of the goat?

This is probably the best advice for this achievement. I activated the mutators and it took me about 45 minutes to get. I never would have thought about lagging the game to win the Flappy bird game.

This is just horrible, rubbish hit box detection and the game never properly registers when you hit Y. The best I have managed is 7 - this method does seem to help a little, but still very difficult unfortunately. I was hoping it might be easier based on some of the comments...

This helped so much, tried to do it, farthest I would get was 8 every 20 minutes, otherwise 1 or 2, and with the mutators on, was averaging 9 each run, but would choke at the end cause I knew I was about to get the achievement, until I got it with my run of 12!

By Freidan5319 on 07 Mar 2018 00:18
@tuhin94 to unlock modifiers you have to accomplish certain challenges in the game. Just playing the game and doing the challenges on the top right of the screen should unlock most of them. Getting the achievements and finding collectibles should unlock the rest. For example, to get the goatborn modifier you must unlock the Alexander Goatstafsson achievement.

By MrNoLuckFox on 25 Jul 2019 11:44
Did this on One X on the big TV in the house. Had all mutators off.
I muted the TV and kept a 1, 2 count going in my head and kept to that rhythm. This kept me from panic tapping.
The issues with the hit detection only seemed to be a problem if I entered or exited a gate at any kind of angle so I just flew straight in and out.

Yeah, this just doesn't work for me either. The game slows when I push Y, but then when I push it a second time the Repulsive turns off and it speeds WAY up and I die. So is there something where you can set SOME to toggle with Y and others not? Feels like I'm missing something major. I can't get past 2 now because there is NO rhythm nor consistency.

Just unlocked this last night. Might be my proudest/most shameful achievement to date. I used all the mutations listed but added Queen and Angel goat. I've got a 1X and it gave me just enough lag to get a good rythym. It also helped not having the slow motion active.

I also have the One X and can confirm the mutators made no difference no matter how many I used. So I turned them all off as they're distracting, turned off all sounds (sat with in total silence) and just counted 1-2-1-2-1-2.

Using the larger screen in the coffee studio I ragdolled to get my head stuck in the screen, getting as close as possible. I placed my controller down on a mousemat and just used my index (pointing) finger. I tried a few different methods over an hour and this worked after a couple attempts. Try not to look at the score as it can distract you and if you feel tilted walk away for 5 mins.

There was a comment to put a sticky note or something over the counter in the right corner. Seriously, do this, it makes you a lot less anxious about actually getting it. After covering the counter up, it took me 2 tries to get it. And keeping a rhythm, like counting in your head, makes it to where you aren't double tapping excessively.

I somehow managed to get this done in ten minutes. To be fair, this is the second time I've managed to complete this achievement. First time (Steam Version) took me about three hours. It still feels highly luck based, and I despise this achievement due to the wonky hit detection.
I will say this: I suck at a lot of quick-twitch reflex based games. You can do this. So keep at it, my friends. Don't give up hope. And for the love of Zod, take breaks, lest your controller end up embedded in your screen.

Mother F'er why is the hit box so huge, everytime I get to 8 or 9 I get "hit" even though I am not even close to hitting the latter. Great solution though

F this achievement! I found the lagging mutators actually made it harder so turned them off and got it after an hour or 2.

After a month of struggling with this and reading all the guides, I just got success in three tries using OP's list of mutators
• Ripped Goat
• Goatborn
• Repulsive Goat
• Classy Goat
• Deadgoa6
• Double Jump

And ADDING the Flappy Goat mutator! Doing that seemed to reduce the size of the hit boxes and I got to 10 with no problem at all.

Has anyone been able to find a solution that actually solves the two problems with this achievement? The speed isn't an issue, it's the fact that the hitboxes change all the time and the fact that the game deliberately delays the action after pressing y on a random basis.

I know @GayaHriiv said to use the Flappy GOAT mutator to reduce hit boxes, but that's only available with one of the DLC's and most won't have it since only the base game is free with game pass (and this is a base game achievement).

Just be patient, I did it after 3 hours of non-stop trying. I downloaded the game to my pc and re-mapped the action to RBM (on LMB my record is 6).

If you have a Series X/S there is absolutely no way to lag the game anymore. I enabled all mutators at once with large downloads going on in the background and it didn't lag a bit. Just be patient and get into a rhythm. Once you get the rhythm for maintaining your current height getting to 10 isn't far off.

Not lagging that I can notice so doesn't help me. I'm on series X, I'll hook up my old Xbox One and see if it makes a difference...
Update: OK, I can confirm this works perfectly, got it easy on my third try with the lag. I could not get any lag on series X but it lagged hard on my old Xbox One. THANKS.

i Just got this achivement on steam. this was harder than any souls game or rouge like I've ever played in terms of stress. my advice, mute the game, zoom in, and use the arcade machine. not as buggy when it comes to hitboxes. y presses will still get stolen from time to time, and the hitboxes are still dogshit, but not as dogshit.

Anyone who has picked this up on gamepass recently, this method doesnt work on the newer xboxes, I had to dig out my old xbox one s, and sure enough, with a bunch of the modifiers on the flappy birds game slowed down, managed to get to 11 popping the achievement, whereas was stuck at around 5 on xbox X

One thing that I haven’t seen mentioned much, you have to get through 11 gates to make your score count for 10 at the end. In my run I failed on gate 14 and my final score was 13 on the leaderboard.

Great one! First I thought the light lags only make it worse but after some minutes I realy get used to it. Counting 1, 2, 3, 4 over and over again helped much too! I needet 30 minutes to find the perfect speed of counting. It also helped me staying focust. I watched more on the goat then the gates. Needed 30-40 mins but felt like 5 min... hard one but great guide and great tips in the comments!

Line up just below each lower ladder. It takes 3 presses of Y to get through. The first two presses of Y should be fine. Just make sure you look carefully at the 3rd press of Y and make sure you press it in time before you hit the vertical part of the lower ladder so you have a nice exit and miss the top ladder. It's not that bad.

I can't believe I just got this! I tried for an hour like a year ago and couldn't get past 2. Got 13 in about 5 minutes using this method. Now to do it on the 360!

You should really post this solution in the 360 version. If you can't, I'll probably post a link to this solution in that achievement's guide section.

You are a GOD among men pixelpixel! It still took me multiple multiple tries but it was so much easier! I was constantly getting between 6-9 after getting the new beat down with the lag but the exaggerated hit boxes on the ladders would definitely get me from time to time.

@Project Torture, many people on here saying thank you because it helped them, if it isn't helping you then don't call people dumb. No point to it.

this helped. but wow This mini game sucked hard. i felt what made this harder was the that hit box for the flappy goat was bigger than the goat. where i was hitting the ladders when there was nothing of the goat touching it.

i wish i'd read this first >.> i spent the better part of 7/8 hours just playing this game with no mutators (i used the 'magnifier' accessibility function on my xbox one which i thought ws genius n cheating lol) but even with the mini game screen filling my 43" 4k monster i still struggled to squeeze through those gaps (which obviously now looked larger) at full speed. my standing record until i unlocked this ws 9, which in all the hours i've played it i maybe only hit 5/6 times...when i unlocked this i breezed through 10 n ended up scoring 17 with no mutators :O felt like an absolute savage at flappy goat, have definitely captured it for posterity too :P

At the beginning i didn't got the game to lag on Xbox one S. I did activate all mutators that didn't make you destroy everything when pressing Y, but no lag. I got frustrated, quit the game, started another one but went back like 15 minutes later.
Now i loaded up Goatville selected "angel goat", "ripped goat", "goatborn" and "double jump" and went straight to the TV. At every button press i got a heavy lag and got a score of 21 after 2 minutes.

->If you don't get it to work quitting, starting another game and coming back whitout shutting the xbox down might be worth a try.

Not that anyone else besides me still has this dumb @$$ acheivo left to do, but just wanted to say if this method is not working for you ( I could not do it with that big head from deadgoa7 on, and the repulsive goat stink cloud was really messing me up!!!) I just turned those two off and used this guys method

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmKadLDD9X0
being up close & personal with the screen really REALLY helped me! Some ladders were a little difficult to see so just watched the screen a little to the left of my goat and got to 15 within a matter of minutes! Highest i could get normal was 8

I just got it without any Mutators. The thing that really helped me was standing only a few feet away from my TV (which is wall mounted above a fireplace). Having the mini-game close, and right at eye level helped tremendously.

And just a heads up, this achievement took almost FORTY MINUTES to unlock, so be aware of that! I got 11 points in my successful run, and was dismayed thinking maybe I needed 10 EXACTLY for it to pop. What a relief!

Does not work on Windows 10. BUT. I got it first time used. May be placebo effect or something. Redid it on Windows 10, no mutators, sound off. Took me hours, I tried it again in the house and got it second try.
The Win 10 version does not have the lag at all. Even with AA turned on and physics and such I was able to get around 20-30 fps on an onboard Intel video card over a 1660TI.
Pretty much all the setups are quite hard but the easiest set is when you have two equal beams in the beginning. It's 5 of those and some random ones but in rythm it works very well.

I found counting to be very useful. For example I would count “1, 2, 3, 4” in half second increments. Every single time I would say a number, I would click Y to jump. This allowed me to be consistent while under pressure, due to the fact whenever I was in between the ladders and was falling toward the bottom ladder, I would get nervous and jump to soon and smack my head on the top ladder. Counting allowed me to stay calm and not to act abruptly.

Great suggestion. I’m posting to address an issue raised in the comments. I have a One S. The first time I tried the mutators, I had no lag. I gave up, shut off the Xbox, and played another game before returning to try Flappy Goat. This time the mutators gave me the kind of lag described. So for those with a One S or X, you might try restarting. YMMV.

Also, I was getting a bit too much lag with all the mutators in the OP. I removed Repulsive and it worked better for me. Toning the lag up or down based on preference or the responsiveness of your system by adjusting the mutators might help.

Getting this achievement is all about a mindset.

At first I was struggling with this, maybe getting only past the first or second set of ladders. I was never good at Flappy Bird, so I knew I wouldn't be good at this. In my frustration, I bleated out loud. Moments later I hit 5, a new personal best.

A coincidence, I assumed, and I went right back to playing. My skills were better, but they regressed slowly. My irritation mounted and I headbutted the wall. After shaking off my presumably mild concussion I almost immediately hit 8.

I couldn't deny it at this point. In order to flap like a goat I had to think like a goat. I needed to be the goat!

It took some courage and a severe lack of pride, but I threw on my Chewbacca costume from two Halloweens ago, went outside, and chewed up a mouthful of grass. With chunks of grass and dirt still hanging from my chin, I marched right inside and didn't take that goat to ten... I took it to ELEVEN!

The real hard part was attempting to regain my humanity afterwards. Social situations have been difficult, and getting a burrito at Chipotle while covered in filth was problematic, but I'm getting better. Small steps.

(Note: Please don't downvote me just because this is a joke. There isn't much to tell you other than, as others have said, try to be lined up with the bottom ladder. It's easier to go up than down.)

So this achievement took me about 7-8 hours on non-stop pressing Y..... I was ready to kill a real live goat....

First off I spent all day playing on the Arcade Cabinet in the Goat City. I have no idea if it makes a difference but I wasn't able to earn the achievement until I switched to the HD TV in the Coffee Stain House. Not sure why but the 16:9 screen seemed easy to focus on than the 4:3.

It's personal preference if you want the Arcade Screen or HD TV so try out both before you devote to one.

The game has horrible hit detection so I'm gonna be honest and say I'm pretty sure this achievement depends on luck as it feels like some of your Y button presses just get taken away from you.

I found it best to always try for the last second jumps even though the hit detection is garbage. I could usually make it to 8-9 that way before I totally choked.

Seriously if needed...take a break and please don't break a controller.

I did this in 14 minutes on the 360, and 8 minutes my second time on the One.

How do people struggle with this? 7-8 hours? Jesus fucking christ! I've done 4.0+ ratio achievements that require beating an entire 10 minute game in one life in less time than that. (Actually, multiple achievements like that in that amount of time!)

This mini-game made me hate this game too. The developer can laugh about how his game is completely broken in all aspects, but its not actually funny if you don't make it fun, or workable!

The arcade machine in the city is miles better to work with. It took me 30 minutes until I finally did it, but wasting 2 hours on the TV in the town.

It's horrible made and I know it's all in fun, but it's not that hard to get. You kind of need to get the "feel" of the game. It got a big hit box and when you press the Y button, it's too sensitive. I just sat with my face almost in the screen and saw every little detail, and it took me about 15 minutes to complete.

Playing this minigame, it's obvious the developers were lazy about it, the hit detection is garbage because your hitbox is just a fuckin' rectangle that covers the entire goat, same with the ladders, the hitbox doesn't follow them, it's just another rectangle.

Spend a lot of time on HDTV. Now put on some "study music", chill, stretch, and go to the arcade.

Also I switched my A and Y buttons in the controller app, which I thought helped and made it feel more natural

so i get the whole two places to do this, but how in the hell do all of the videos have such small movement when y is pressed? i touch Y and the goat rockets to the top and i fail, and if i don't touch y soon enough it immediately plummets to the floor. i have done this for several hours and only got 1 3 times.......f@#& this game

Just Tap Y don't do any long presses. It's hard to explain it's just something you have to develop a feel for it.

After hitting the 10th ladder twice with the tail, I was ready to give up. 4.5 hours and I ended up scoring 14. I had to switch A and Y and what helped me get started each round was double tap A and then letting the goat fall a bit before proceeding with my rhythm. Otherwise I couldn't get past the first obstacle.

About 1.5hrs for me to get this. First time a game has ever made that muscle between my thumb and index finger sore. Also after 8-9 attempts the combination of the goats butt, excited snowflakes on the screen, music, and pastel colors makes my eyes want to self destruct. I looked at my cat for about 30 seconds between attempts to make my face relax then back to the game- made things more bearable.

2 attempts over 2 nights. First night 2.5 hours (streamed it on Twitch - no one watched). Second night did it on my 2nd try.. There is definately a rhythm you have to find, one that clicks you will get better scores - then it's on to finding the amount of presses to drop/rise through the gates.

Hit detection is shocking though. What a crap achievement though.

Its not that annoying, took me about 20 mins of trying. Just aim for slightly below each lower ladder, it takes 3 presses of Y to get through. On the last press of Y just look carefully and make sure you hit Y before the goat goes down too far and hits the right-most vertical part of the lower ladder so you don't hit the top one.

What a prickish acheivement! I got lucky and did it within half hour or so. If your attempting it on the hd telly in the student house turn the volume down on your tv. That way that irritating music in the background wont put you off.

I found that for me, the most consistent way (exluding the absolute shyte collision detection) was to tap the Y button in an even rhythm. If you need to go higher keep the same rhythm but press Y slightly harder each time and likewise to go lower press Y lighter. Took me about ten minutes to fully get in the zone.

Even still, the above is all fruitless 9 times out of 10 when the game decides to do you in regardless.

I struggled with this massively however from my personal experience i found this helps.

1) using large tv in first area helps loads
2) You can use slow motion on the game however it only works when starting the game off. To do this move your goat slightly and will make it game move slower. the goat seems unaffected by this.
3) time jumps as late as you can to lessen risk of hitting the upper ladder
4) Wire your controller, after doing this my attempts were far better and did it on the second go

Took me roughly half an hour to do. I kept thinking of flappy bird hitboxes.

Quick tip: forget everything you thought about flappy bird. You need to remember that the hitbox on the flappy goat is a solid square that covers every part that sticks out, so the hitbox is going to be a bit absurd and awkward. Once you figure that out, the rest is just being very careful on your Y press. Not hitting too early or too late. Every fail I made was me just getting excited or reacting too late to something.

The key is to play with the mindset of not giving a shit about getting the achievement, you will get it quicker this way, trust me. Like some have said, it really isn't that hard, people's frustrations at getting close and panicking is what dooms them and makes it harder than what it is. Mind over matter, easier said than done for some people though.

Now to throw in my two cents, which won't be as different from most others I'm sure. This grueling achievement took me about 3 and a half hours. I had the Ripped Goat, Goatborn and Double Jump mutators activated. I used the HDTV in the house, and really all I did was just keep my cool no matter what, and I stuck with it until I eventually got a good run.

I truly believe that Flappy Goat is a mental game. You have to approach it with just the right mindset to be successful at it. I found that not even thinking about going for the achievement, and just straight up playing the game helped a bit. Same went for not losing my cool (I can't tell you how many times the hit detection fucked me on 9) and keeping my heart rate down so that I'd be calm enough to hit the Y button at the right rhythm.

This might just be me, but I found that always looking at the Flappy Goat itself helped me a bit. Like don't look at the right of the screen to see what's coming next, let it come into your view naturally and move the goat accordingly. I'm not saying this method is flawless, I sure as hell had a lot of failures with it, but I felt that I was more consistent in getting to around 7 or 8 with it, as opposed to between 0-3.

Last thing I'll say is just keep at it. Even if it seems absolutely impossible, trust me, it's not. You just have to be in the right metal state each time you begin a new run. Good luck everyone!!!

Good video, watched it several times to see where I was going wrong. Spent 2 solid hours of pressing Y and I hit 9 3 times then caught the invisible ladder (super amount of swear words used!) The music, which was beginning to remind me of Eurovision, drove me to stop (sure I could have muted it but why listen to the sound of failure for 2 hours). I was playing on the HD tv in the house, left it at that and finished the rest of the levels cheevos. Went to the city and had a stab at the arcade version (who knows - my luck could have changed) ... best I landed was a 5. Went off and got the deadmus head, took the speedboat to the island and licked the flowers giving me a stupidly large head and went back to the island. Had one last try on the arcade machine and landed a solid 14! I'm thinking not concentrating on the bottom of the screen helped (the huge head blocked part of the view) ... or it could have been blind luck

Tips;
- avoid double tapping
- find a rhythm
- approach the ladders from as low as possible to jump over them
- be patient - I thought I was gonna spend forever on this!
- have an ice bath prepared for your thumb

TL;DR - hardest cheevo ive won, be patient or get lucky

Game sucks. You're going to hate yourself.

Mute your audio. don't listen to anything in the game. Get the camera wedged up against the coffee table so you get it closer to the screen. Then put a post it note or something like that on your real life TV over the score so you can't see it. This will get rid of the adrenaline rush of attempting to get closer and closer and accidentally pressing Y when you shouldn't. Tap in a rhythm. you can be close to the top and bottom with the right tap. My screen is a 42 in and the TV in game resizes to about a 35 or so and the best taps get about half an inch to the top and bottom of the stupid ladders.

If you're good at Flappy bird then you're going to be terrible at this because it's built like a Taiwanese knockoff of a Chinese knockoff of the Canadian import.

The Flapmaster is one of the more annoying Achievements in Goat Simulator. To get the Achievement you must score 10 points using the Flappy Goat Arcade game, the game itself is found upstairs inside the Coffee House. Approach the tv, I'd personally clear out the table so you can see the TV clearly then press cn_Y to begin the mini game.

The object of the game is to make it through 10 ladders by tapping cn_Y to balance your height. Gaps in the ladders range from high to low and it's completely random the order they will be in.

It can take a while to master it but preserve and you'll unlock it.

Here is a video showing that Achievement and a ton more, note that the video merely shows and explains how it is done. The restarts make it a random game.

For those who have no clue where the Coffee House is it is located in the starting area Goatville and is located on the same side of the road as the Construction Site but in the opposite direction near the tunnel. It is right next to a large Greenhouse and both Houses are next to the Red one where the boulder is.

This is my 1st attempt at a guide, so please be gentle. Just thought I'd weigh in with my experiences getting this achievement today & offer a few helpful tips you may find useful.

TIPS

1) Turn off all mutators. I found the addition of Halos', Devil Horns and other things to be off putting. Especially the Halo. That thing was right in the view of the TV.

2) The hit detection in this is terrible. Seemed especially bad on the way down out of a ladder.

3) Silence is golden. I found that sometimes I would inadvertently tap along to the music and this would get me killed so mute the TV. Also, I wore a pair of in ear headphones to make sure no outside noise was heard. My particular Kryptonite was the mother in law who lives with us. She has learning difficulties and loves to waffle a mile a minute. So try and keep noise down to a minimum.

4) Try and get the TV as central as you can. Sometimes if it wasn't, I found I was slightly off with my presses.

5) Be careful of animations that are going on in the game still. I can't tell you how many times I was distracted by the glider going past the right window. Or a leaf falling out of the tree on the left side window. I had leaves coming in to the room and blowing around or up the goats arse on numerous occasions. If you see them happening between turns, just wait till they stop.

And finally 6) Luck and patience are something you will need in abundance to get this. Took me nearly 4 hours of constant trying. Best of luck to you all. Hope this helps.

Haven't seen this posted yet, but the Flappy Goat game in Goat Bay City is MUCH EASIER than the one in the coffee house. The ladders appear to be further apart. I think it has to do with the aspect ratio of the arcade machine vs. the tv. I was consistently getting 6+ on my attempts at the arcade machine rather than 0-3 on the TV. Maybe it was all in my head. Whatever it was, I found it much easier on the carnival machine.

At the carnival, past the scrambler you'll find 3 arcade machines. Flappy Goat is on the furthest arcade machine to the left.

Try it!

I tried to find an easier way to do this but it seems practicing is the only way ! although with these few tips, you can make it faster :
1) Try to line the goat with top of the lower ladder as you see in this video and as soon as you get close, double tap on Y button ( should be small time gap between first tap and the second to avoid hitting the upper ladder)
2) Randomly, there is an easy map that let you go straight in the middle so don’t miss that one.
3) Place your goat in the middle of TV like in this video . some angles make it little hard to focus specially when you stand on the left or right of TV.
It took me 2-3 hours to find the best way and master it on xbox one but I got the xbox 360 achievement in less than 5 min with above method.

Well, there's a reason that this trophy is the rarest one. Flappy Goat is a mini-game that is accessed in one of two places.

On the first level you can find it in the Coffee Stain HQ (a large house in the corner of the map near some other houses) upstairs on the hi-def TV. Or you can find it on the second level on an arcade machine under the ferris wheel (the arcade machine on the left of the three).

You start the game by walking up to it and then pressing triangle.

The game itself is a clone of Flappy Bird where you press one button to jump in mid-air and have to get your goat to pass safely through gaps. The problem is that it is initially balls-hard and also has very bad, and unfriendly, collision detection.

Tips:

1. The TV version is in 16:9, the arcade version is in 4:3. Pick the ratio that suits you. I went with 4:3.

2. Find the rhythm that keeps the goat at a set height. You can get four jumps in between gaps so use that rhythm and slightly adjust for when you need to move up and down.

3. Turn the music/sound off. I muted my TV. You need to be able to keep that rhythm going.

4. Try to get a good view of the screen. I pulled a bench over to the arcade machine and stood the goat on that to get a closer view of the screen. I actually used an angled view where the left side of the screen was closer to me. I guess it helped.

5. It helps to get a little distracted. My best runs all involved me thinking about other things before my concentration snapped back and I ended up crashing on 8 or 9.

6. You can go from a good run to a series of rubbish ones easily. Do not worry about it. You'll get your mojo back as quick as it went.

7. Ignore people who say 'this was easy, I got it on like my third go.' These people are pricks. Every trick trophy attracts them.

8. If you meet anyone who works for Coffee Stain HQ, they've earned a warm palm across the face.

9. When you start, you'll likely struggle to get past 1 or 2. That is fine. This trophy isn't that rare which means that plenty of people have managed it. You will get better and when you find your rhythm, you will get this trophy and the sweet platinum. It's all good.

10. If you're going to downvote this solution, it is what it is. Don't hate the player, hate the game, kids.

Tip 5 is by far the best part of this solution. You need to basically turn your brain off. I put a podcast on and ended up getting a score of 13 within 20 minutes after getting no higher than 6 on all my previous attempts.

i got the trophy today on the ps4 using this method/video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLPu6lo8Uok

For me, it was easier to attempt it on the TV in the house, i was able to move the goat close enough to see the whole game, in colour, just like in the video.

On the arcade, the maximum score I was able to get was 7, while on the HD TV I got lots of 8 and 9 before I finally got the score of 10 after 1h30-2h of playing it.

I have one tip: Move your face as close to the tv screen (In real life and in game) as possible. Before hand I tried for 20-30 mins to get the trophy and couldnt, but when I moved Closer, It took no more than 5 tries.

What worked for me: approach each gap from slightly below & jump into it, then when you're close to landing on the bottom lip jump again. Staying low gives you plenty of headroom & you only need to worry about getting over one thing instead of threading between two.

I spent well over 80 hours in getting Flapmaster alone. I tweeted at Coffee Stain and Goat Simulator when I finally got the trophy back in September, politely telling them to suck it and I can't wait to have to do something ridiculously hard again for Goat Simulator 3.

Did this in a couple of hours on the PS3 version listening to an old radio show I like. You start off shit, then gradually begin to work out a rhythm and get gradually better and get relaxed, then a couple of near misses get to you and you get really pissed off, start fucking up again and then rinse and repeat until you get it. Have no intention of doing it again, though. How it's only a 1.4 and just over 60% of people on PSN Profiles have done it is beyond me. It's Sound Shapes Death Mode levels all over again.

Let me share my experience on this after reading various comments about this trophy....
I first time tried in goatville (because I was already there doing other trophy so lazy to change)... I tried for 1h almost and never been able to do it. The max I could do was 8 times... But barely average it was 2-3...
Decided to give up and continue other trophy... Until I went to goat city, it took me just 3min to be able to complete the 10 times....not sure if it was luck or not or maybe as suggested by many, it was maybe easier in goat by city.
Another issue is that it seems to have bug as I saw the trophy unlocked notification but when I check the trophy list it's still isn't............
I had similar issue with other trophy on this game, it suddenly unlocked after a while so I may wait a bit more.... So you know.

Hi guys!

I managed to get this achievement and was thinking by myself... Why not give some tips for you guys who are struggling with this and get here to seek for some help...

Though the method in above solutions work well too... I found mine a bit more suitable for myself... I even had music on very loud and the rythm of the music didn't even bother me while playing this mini-game. Though this might vary for some of you!

After trying to aim for the lower pillar, but finding myself most of the times sitting on top of the pillar having failed, I found a constant method of "small bounces" is working quite well for me too...
I flapped through the gates on a tempo that didn't make the goat rise, but didn't make it fall either. So what do you want to do?

- Make your bounces as tiny as possible! You can flap right through the gates.
- Reposition yourself for next tower as soon as you left the previous gate.
- Only change bounce pattern to adjust for the next gate but get back to your tiny flapping method so you can get right through the gate again.
- Get used to the flapping tempo by practicing, after a while you'll feel it when you got the bounce right.
- Once you got the bounce right, all you need to do is practice a little bit more on the gates.
- I advise to focus mainly on your goat and the way it bounces, but keep the pillars in your sights too and adjust your height when needed.

Watch my video, I hope you then understand all my above tips! I found this waaaay more easy going compared to aiming for the lower pillar... I've recorded it on video and below you can find it.
Don't worry that I'm starting at gate 4, you'll get to see the full 10 gates as I took it to 14. :P

I hope you guys can see the tips I'm giving you in my video and I hope it gives you guys some result too!

Good luck and happy hunting!

Hey all, this is more a helpful hint than a guide...

After attempting this for many hours, it began to frustrate me. So I tried a new approach and it worked first time...

Go to the coffee stain house and use the tv, headbutt all furniture so u can see tv perfect. Slow down time (doesn't slow game, just the distractions around the screen), then pause the game, go to options, lower the music volume to half and remove quests from showing on screen. Then unpause and play the game.... I spent countless hours trying everything else, did it this way and got to 12 on first go

Hope this helps anyone else :)

If you have the elite controller, I found this much, much easier after remapping cn_Y to cn_RT, with hair triggers. Took me three attempts after switching.

Hey guys,

This achievement sucks.
As you probably well know the hitboxes are broken and half the time it's straight up luck whether you get to ten or not but there are somethings that you can do to maximise your luck.

1. Clear the room, obvious and in absolutely ever solution, and so it should be, you need to be focused on the screen and nothing else.

2. Activate Angel Goat Mutator, you're likely going to need more than five minutes to complete this horrible achievement and you don't want the Angel Goat to randomly activate midway through one of your runs.

3. Don't face the TV like you'd be watching it, that leads to horrible, distracting head twitches. What you want to do instead is approach the TV from the side so the left or the right side of the goat is pressed against the TV stand.

4. Totally personal preference but I tilted my camera angel slightly to the left rather than the complete centre as I wanted to simulate the Goat approaching the bars better than approaching it flat on, for me that angel isn't as good.

5. Slow Motion mode- activate it, your goat breathing won't be as noticeable and you're going to stay more focused.

6. TAKE BREAKS!!! This is probably the reason why I unlocked this achievement, I probably spent Seven hours total trying to unlock this achievement, and my most successful runs were after I returned from my breaks. When you get a couple consecutive 0's/1's you know it's not going to happen, take a break from the achievement and come back with a better mindset. Honestly breaks are your friend.

7. Just stay relaxed it can sometimes be daunting seeing the number creeping up 6...7...8...9... and you will make erratic judgements, I failed on nine twice, but I didn't get raged because that was not going to be constructive as staying calm is pivotal for this achievement. If you're an angry person don't even attempt this.

8.
*optional* if you're lucky enough to have an elite controller definitely map cn_Y to either cn_LT or cn_RT for that. I don't have an elite controller but I can tell you it would have been easier if I could have used a trigger rather than a button.

9. When between the two bars DO NOT double jump if you do you'll almost definitely catch that stupid waggling tail on the bar. Also, try to stay relatively in line with the bars the whole time.

10. Mute the game. Mute all your friends, no talking, just the game.

11. *optional* Use Goatville, TV's bigger, not much more to say.

12. Finally, DO NOT take your finger off the Y button!!! if you take too long between pressing you WILL fail don't ever get complacent with Flappy Goat, he will kill you.

P.S. the achievement will take a few seconds to pop so don't break down right too quickly give it some time. I also suggest rewarding yourself for completing this achievement, which was, in my case, uninstalling this game after headbutting Deadmau5 off a building.

But seriously this achievement will make you envy the dead, have a good day.

OK, this is the worst achievement I have went for in a while. Now first off I would advice doing this in the coffee house as the screen is bigger. Now I spent 8 hours trying this with no luck due to poor programming and cheap deaths. Now I after spending so much time on it, I started noticing exactly how much bigger the ladders were in terms of the programming and not the visual display.
So my tip is sit really damn close to your TV, I know this is bad for your vision but it helps. You can be more focused on the actual goat. This helped me and with sitting in front of my TV I got it in 10 minutes.
Although I wouldn't advice trying this method for any form of prolonged period of time.

The Flapmaster is one of the hardest achievements in Goat Simulator.

To begin, find the Flappy Goat game either at the top floor of Coffee Stain Studios in Goatville or at the arcade machines in Goat Bay City. I would recommend the Coffee Stain Studios game, because it has a bigger screen.

To start the game, remove any mutators (to prevent you from accidentally activating them) and press cn_Y

To fly, tap cn_Y. If you touch the top or the bottom of the screen, you will die and return to the start. You will also die if you touch any of the ladders that you are supposed to fly through.

The goal of the game is to fly through the ladders that come towards you, similar to the popular mobile game Flappy Bird. If you have experience with Flappy Bird, try to ignore it. The physics and hit detection in this game are different, and it WILL throw you off at first. The hit detection seems to be somewhat buggy, as it will sometimes register a hit even when you are in the empty space between the ladders, and there is more gravity.

The ladders reset randomly every attempt, which makes this achievement even more difficult. With a lucky run and a lot of practice, eventually you will reach 10 points.

Following everything else above: Goatville, turning the tele sounds off, getting into the zone of pressing Y and using Mutators I eventually got this. I used the following mutators.
Feather Goat
Space Goat
Angel goat
Ripped Goat
Robot Goat
Goatborn
Repulsive Goat
Classy Goat
Deadgoa7
Double Jump
VR Mutator

The VR mutator initially seems very weird, but use it, it means you move into the goats POV and can make the tele a little bigger :)

This is how I got The Flapmaster Achievement. It was driving me nuts and I spent hours trying to get this. Following pixelpixels tip I equipped Ripped Goat, Goatborn, Repulsive Goat, Classy Goat, Deadgoa7 and Double Jump mutations as these supposedly provide a little lag to make it easier. To be honest it didn't seem to make much difference to me however this is what did make a difference. Firstly I turned off all game sounds and switched to slo-mo. These help but the deal-breaker for was this: on my TV I have a built-in Zoom. I used this to make the Flappy Goat screen bigger. Once I did this I was getting up to 8 or 9 quite easily. You need to find the right rhythm and concentrate hard, but I got it a lot quicker by doing this. The Xbox capture doesn't show the zoomed-in screen unfortunately.

You can find it in the upstairs Living Room of the Coffee Stain Studios house in Goatville behind the protestors near the spawn.

Yes, this is the most frustrating achievement to get. The only advise I can give is TURN OFF THE MUSIC. I had been going at it for 20 minutes and the highest I got was 7. Then I muted my TV and got 10 first try.

I felt like I would be pressing the button to the beat and that didn't fit the mini-game. So I guessed without music I would do better and it worked.

Not so much a solution but this is how I got the achievement , I haven't seen this written or mentioned anywhere but thought I'd put it out there ... I have no way of validating or replicating what happened to see if the achievement would pop again !

So , I was going for this achievement using various of the posted solutions but at best I was hitting 6 or 7 gates ,once or twice I got to 9 gates ,but other than that I was getting nowhere near the 10 gates required ... So I decided to quit for the night !

I simply turned of My box , without quitting the game , leaving the game set up as it had been for the previous 2 Hrs ( I was using no mutators ) and went to bed !

On My return home from work ,the following day , I thought I'd continue where I left off and try to get the achievement ... After switching on My Box ( which had been switched of for a total of around 16 Hrs) and signing in I loaded the game simply by pressing the A button on it ( because it was the last thing I played it was top of the list ) and continued exactly from My last failed attempt with the exact same set up ..

The very first go I hit 14 gates and got the achievement ( of course ) ... For some reason it just seemed very easy and considerably slower - In fact it just seemed a lot more reactive to My button pushes !

This may be coincidence ... like I say I can not validate / replicate the achievement popping but If all else fails it may be worth a try this way !

If You have any questions then please feel free to message Me ....

Just achieved this today took about 2-3 hours of non-stop Y mashing. How I did was I went to goatville and went by the Coffee Stain and I moved everything out the way and even hit the back button ( slow mo) so I didn't move my goat on accident and so he wouldn't throw me off. Then I just stayed low and only double jumped to get across and stayed towards the middle of the two ladders, It also helped me focus on the middle of the ladders to make it through.

( This is my first solution, I'm sure everyone above me has a better review but, this may help someone I hope. )
Good luck! cn_guide

More of a tip/hint than an actual solution, as this achievement is painful (literally). My finger and wrist started hurting mashing the Y button trying to get into a rhythm.

I have the Elite controller, so at the end I used the larger paddle underneath the controller in the Y socket, and removed the other 3. The controller sat nicer in my hand, it was much less strain using my middle finder under the controller and I was able to get a better rhythm. Even then it took a while.

For positioning, I used the muscular goat mutator and jumped on the cabinet facing the screen. I then moved the goat slightly back and to the right part of the TV (the goat was in the TV field of view on the right side, but that is OK as it is a very small area that gets covered), and tried to get the left edge of the TV as vertical as possible (thus the TV being as 'flat' as possible). This made the TV screen much larger (I think every little variation makes a subtle difference, that could possibly help).

Anyways, hope this helps someone if you get frustrated. I posted a similar note in the 360 version, but I used my Street fighter IV arcade fighting stick instead.

If you're looking at solutions then you know how frustrating this achievement is. And as you'll see from the numerous other guides here there's no one easy method. What works for one person may not be solution for you but there are plenty of suggestions available.

I used the TV in goatville as I could get closer to the screen. I moved carefully through the room, moved between the table and TV and then turned to face it. This helped to force the camera to get close so it filled the majority of the screen.

One of the things I read was to use a metronome. This could help you keep a rhythm but would only work if you were staying the same height throughout the level. That's not to say the concept can't be useful.

What I did was mute my TV so I could clearly hear the clicking of the Y button. You'll learn a rhythm to get through the gaps. I found it easier to time to the sound of the click than trying to time each jump on screen.

That being said you'll still need to adjust your height between ladders either by increasing or decreasing by a half click. Once you are in line with the gap go back to the rhythm of the click.

It will take practice and a lot of patience to get this. Every time you get further, take it as a new personal best and try not to get frustrated when you hit the next ladder. Don't expect to get this achievement quickly, be prepared to repeat the process over and over. A positive attitude is required for this frustrating mini game.

When you fail, its easy to hammer the Y button to get the level started again but this caused me to lose my rhythm again. Instead take a moment before pressing anything to calm yourself for the next go.

When the 'press Y to start' appears, note the position of the goat onscreen is the starting position for the goat when the level starts and you'll be falling immediately. Initially I was button mashing to stop from hitting the bottom but your rhythmic timing is enough with slight adjustments for height.

I did have a few mutators on (angel, deveil, ripped and goatborn) but they didn't affect the game.

Good luck if you're trying for this achievement and have patience.

Just try this, Some reason the game just seemed so much easier with my goat hogging the tv

This is me playing but not it is not the moment I unlocked achievement but I knew I would do it soon after trying this method.

Use the mutators from pixelpixel's guide. Experiment with the mutators. Avoid the ones that distract you too much, make you jump around, cause explosions or other things like that. I remember using a few more mutators, which I found to only change appearance. Your size change from a mutator can affect your screen view and experience of this 2D goat game, so take that into account as well. If there are mutators which result in just visible effects, a little shaking or something like that, you could probably use them, as long as they don't interfere with your experience too much. Keep your goat near the side of the screen if you need a closer view. I used the coffee shop TV for this, and it worked well since the screen is large. Kick away any objects that block your path. Now for the Flappy Bird clone itself. Practice to get used to the timing. I found that keeping a steady rhythm helps. Overtap a little if you're going too low. Simply release for a beat if you're coming in too high. Pay attention to your goat's path and check near the jumps to see if you're coming in low or high. Tap and release well ahead of the jumps to maintain a stable central line. If you want to take the low path to pass the tunnel pairs, do so as going up is a little easier than dropping down. Dropping down, you can make mistakes a little more easily and you'll have to closely look at your path and alter your rhythm to fit it. While going up to pass the tunnel pairs, you're simply jumping hurdles. Other than that, just keep practicing and you'll reach 10 points within a few attempts.

In the interest of making as much of a one-stop-shop as possible apart from collectibles, I've compiled all 28 achievements that aren't related to the two big sets of collectibles into one video.

For The Flapmaster, head into the coffee shop house and upstairs to where the Flappy Goats game is playing on the TV. My advice is to turn off your mutators so that you can jump up onto the shelf beside the TV to get it as zoomed-in as possible (zoom on your TV works too). There isn't any strategy to this disgustingly bad game, unfortunately. It's just as bad as the original Flappy Birds. Good luck and try not to break any controllers getting to 10 points!

This achievement can be seen starting at the 17:26 mark in the video below.

This one was terrible. What worked for me was getting a chair and sitting way too close to my tv, until the game took up my whole field of view, and focusing on the point a little above the next bottom ladder. I found better results when I focused a bit higher than it seemed I should need to if the hit box were correct. Probably looked like a crazy person, and maybe I was by the end.

Still took way too long to consistently hit that point. Used my index finger and got used to taping to the right beat. Got it on the arcade game next to the ferris wheel if that matters.

Its just tedious. But it’s not hard once you’ve got your groove. Just stay near the bottom. Don’t use slowmo. And it’s kinda of a 1&2&1&2 timing that’s all I can really say

So I just got this achievement on Steam. this was harder than any Souls game or rouge-like I've ever played in terms of stress. my advice, mute the game, zoom in, and use the arcade machine. not as buggy when it comes to hitboxes. Y presses will still get stolen from time to time, and the hitboxes are still dogshit, but not as dogshit. Focus on the goat's chin, as it's the lowest part of the goat. also focus on the center of the ladder gap and try to line the goat up with it, while staying as low as possible at the same time. I know it doesn't make sense, but the minigame itself doesn't cause it's broken.

I don't want to discourage, but it ultimately took me 12 - 14 hours to win.

This is attainable in either Goat Ville or Goat City Bay.

This will be the most frustrating and time consuming achievement to unlock. There are two locations where you can play this game; upstairs on the TV in the Coffee Stain Studios house in Goat Ville or along the railing of the ferris wheel in the amusement park in Goat City Bay (the left-most game cabinet). Playing at one location or the other has no real advantages. The rumor is that it is easier on the TV because you can get closer to the screen and be at eye level. I personally found it equally frustrating at both locations.

It’s a relatively simple game (in theory); keep pressing  to flap though breaks in what looks to be ladders without hitting anything. You need to clear 10 ladders for the achievement to unlock. This is easier said than done. The breaks are at different elevations and the game has terrible hit detection, so while it may appear you cleared the ladder, the game might say you failed. It is easier to go up than it is to go down, but be careful not to double-tap too much as this will also cause you to fail. It can be quite irritating.

The only advice I can recommend is keep practicing. Developing a pattern to the button pressing seems to work, along with keeping the goat in line with the top of the bottom ladder. Jumping over the bottom ladder as opposed to dropping through the break seems to work. People have also suggested that muting your TV helps as you are not distracted by the awful game noises and music.

There are tons of videos showing you how to do this, but watching someone playing and doing it yourself are two entirely different things. Still, if the video in "Goat Queen" isn’t helpful, maybe another one will be. Good luck!

After 10 minutes of failure, I realized that I needed to find a more effective way to get it. If you have a wife/girlfriend/children/parents at home, then I strongly recommend locking the door so as not to make them doubt your well-being)
1. The most important thing is to be calm and not get irritated by little things, and this trophy is just another little thing in our life.
2. Place the goat in front of the TV so that nothing blocks your view.
3. Turn on all the lights in the room so as not to damage your vision.
4. Take a chair and sit as close to the TV as possible so you can see everything clearly. Believe me, it has a big impact.
5. You need to squint your eyes. Everything is simple here: all objects in the game are very bright and contrast strongly against a dark background, and constant flashes are also distracting. By covering our eyes a little, we remove the halo surrounding objects, thereby making the picture more accurate.
6. The last nail in our program!!! You need to tilt your head to the right, practically placing it on your right shoulder. Not to the left, nothing will change, I tried. Exactly to the right. I noticed that in this arrangement it is better to track the approach of the goat to the lower obstacle.
7. Purely optional. Turn off the sound on the TV so as not to fall under the rhythm of the music, as it does not follow the rhythm that you need to beat in the game. Or, if such things don’t stress or distract you, put on headphones and turn on some calm music. I received a trophy for the album Jose Gonsalez - In Our Nature, which came in very handy for such a routine activity.
8. This method may become boring if after 3-4 minutes you have not achieved what you want. Therefore, take a break for a couple of minutes or return your head and eyes to their normal position, and then return to the Gollum-scoliotic pose again)
I don't know if this will help everyone, but I got to 10 several times and 12 once this way. Just to check.

I can’t count the rhythm of the buttons, because the height of the stairs is different and somewhere you have to jump more or less, I completed the achievement for 3 days, I tried playing for 30 minutes a day, on the third day I managed to pass about 20 minutes, without any reading of the rhythm and other tricks, I just got better during this time. I knocked out the rest of the trophies in a maximum of an hour or two, but I will say that this achievement is extremely difficult and annoying, so after receiving it I immediately deleted the game with relief)

Done it in a few hours. At first I did it on a slot machine, but it didn’t work. Then I found a video guide and did it according to it. The idea is to stick the goat's head into the TV, which causes the game to slow down a bit. This requires several goats, I completed it with a goat for the battle and with a head from the party (the big blue one). Music also helps a lot, I played "My sweet lord" by George Harrison.

Took a trophy on the rides. During the passage, I turned off the sound of the game, sat as close as possible to the TV screen (my face is exactly at the levels of the game), put a pillow on my knees... so that the joystick in my hands was not weighted. And after many attempts everything worked out. By the way, listen to how you press the button, remember the rhythm and sound. Spent more than 2 hours on the trophy..

when you go through the first three, you need to get into a rhythm and it’s easy. And it’s even better to play over a wire; there’s a delay over Bluetooth, but here it’s very important to jump accurately

I took it to goat city bay on the rides, the screen is slightly on the side (on the left side) - it’s easier

It’s better to put the joystick on something hard, in my case I played standing up, with the joystick on the back of a chair - this way the feedback of the button is felt better, and it’s easier on your hands

So what I did most often was change the viewing angle of the TV: left, right, far, close. It seemed to me that the goat model was changing its size and speed. In the end it took about an hour. Completed the trophy while sitting as a goat in the lower left edge of the TV.

I spent about 20 minutes in the developers' house. He stood with his head up against the TV so that the TV would be as large as possible on my TV in real life, and he sat down closer. The most important thing: cover the score with some piece of paper . (I used a business card and a piece of plasticine) When you realize that you already have 8 or 9 points, you notice it with peripheral vision and lose concentration due to excitement and instantly lose. In general, after you stick the piece of paper, go into a trance, so to speak, because at first you will still mentally count the points. And after getting into the rhythm and without seeing the points, you can easily score 10 or even more points.

There are a couple of invisible pixels in the pillar and goat model, making the game difficult. But if you give the goat a little more distance from the post, you can easily get to the 10th count

To make the screen as large as possible, you need to place a sofa or closet in front of the TV in the developers’ house so that you can go under it, thereby the camera will zoom and the game screen will become the entire screen of your TV. As was written earlier, sit closer to the TV by connecting the joystick via a wire.

It took a relatively short time to get the trophy on PS5, the joystick was connected via wire, the controls seemed softer; before that, many attempts on PS4 were unsuccessful.

If the TV has a zoom function (called live zoom on LG), enlarge the desired part of the screen to the appropriate size and it turns out that the screen of the game TV completely matches the screen of the real one. It becomes MUCH more convenient.

I spent a long time selecting tactics for passing. But in the end these tips helped:
1) To avoid delay, connect the gamepad via cable.
2) Turn off the sound (it throws off the rhythm (you can turn on the music)).
3) Sit closer.
4) Make the game screen larger.
5) Develop a rhythm and count it.
And additions from me:
1) The distance between the ladders is only just suitable for one jump (press , tune in in advance).
2) Do not look directly at the goat, only with peripheral vision, you need to look at the ladders. Sometimes it seems that the gap is at the same height, but it becomes one step higher or lower.

Everything that is written here, with the exception of the head tilt, is complete nonsense. Do not under any circumstances consider some kind of rhythm - it is not there at all. Take the joystick more comfortably, no matter how your fingers are positioned, you need to feel the goat, if you don’t feel it, then after 6-8 hours you will already understand how this damn goat moves, but then it’s a matter of luck!
There is a lucky corridor (that's what I call it), where 5 columns are on the same line (or almost on the same line). You can try your luck on it, but at the end there will be a jump down and then up.
It's all about the goat's sensitivity and fractions of seconds; going down is better than going up, but in the lower rows it's hard to catch the moment when you touch the edge of the monitor.
The games in the first and second worlds are different (not enormously, but there are differences), in the city it’s more convenient because you don’t have to take the goat away from the TV.

I found a way to get into the rhythm, I counted to three presses (once two three ) I tried several ways, counted to ten and to five, but only when I counted to three did I score 8 and 9 points [when I found this method, I got it in half an hour

I played on two types of devices, an arcade machine (next to the Ferris wheel on the second map) and a TV (the first map), and came to a very interesting conclusion: playing on an arcade machine is much HARDER than on a TV, because... the image is very narrowed horizontally to the compact size of the machine. I suffered with it for about two hours and the maximum I achieved was 5 points. Then, I went to the TV and spent about 15-20 minutes collecting the coveted 10 points.
I hope this information will help someone, at least it became clear why some players spend suspiciously little time on this trophy.

The house labeled "Coffee Stain Studios" has a TV on the second floor. It includes a game: a parody of floppy bird. In this game you need to score 10 points (in 1 game). Control of the game - using the button .
The house is located on the right side of the road, if you walk from the construction site.

The prize can also be taken from the slot machine, which is located under the Ferris wheel in the second city.
This is a really difficult prize. I was able to take it only when I was looking at the score, and looking at the goat in the minigame with peripheral vision, and at the same time I turned off all the sounds in the game. I pretended the goat was a penguin (it takes up less space on the screen).
