How to unlock the Maxed Out! achievement in God of War III - Definitive Guide

This is pretty easy since they placed so many red chests into the game. You can easily collect enough red orbs to upgrade all of your weapons by the end of the game, along with the Minotaur Horns, Gorgon Eyes and Phoenix Feathers.

To get this trophy you have to upgrade all of your weapons and equipment you get during your playthrough using red orbs, which you can do in the Pause Menu. You get red orbs by defeating enemies, destroying objects (like pots) and from red chests and special chests if you fully upgrade your health, magic and/or item bar. Below are the weapons and equipment you need to upgrade and how many red orbs you need:

Blades of Exile
Level 2: 4,000 red orbs
Level 3: 7,000 red orbs
Level 4: 8,000 red orbs
Level 5: 10,000 red orbs
Total: 29,000 red orbs

Bow of Apollo
Level 2: 2,500 red orbs

Claws of Hades
Level 2: 3,000 red orbs
Level 3: 5,000 red orbs
Level 4: 6,000 red orbs
Level 5: 9,000 red orbs
Total: 23,000 red orbs

Head of Helios
Level 2: 2,500 red orbs

Boots of Hermes
Level 2: 2,500 red orbs

Nemean Cestus
Level 2: 3,000 red orbs
Level 3: 5,000 red orbs
Level 4: 5,000 red orbs
Level 5: 8,000 red orbs
Total: 21,000 red orbs

Nemesis Whip
Level 2: 3,000 red orbs
Level 3: 5,000 red orbs
Level 4: 5,000 red orbs
Level 5: 8,000 red orbs
Total: 21,000 red orbs

Total orbs needed: 101,500 red orbs

This is pretty self-explanatory. Upgrading all of your weapons to their maximum level will earn you this trophy. The hard part is getting it done. Kill everything in sight: enemies, pots, souls (in Hades). Whatever you can find that will give you red orbs, destroy it.

Alternatively, there is a glitch for this trophy:

1st you need to of beaten the game, and beaten all the challenges of Olympus to unlock the combat arena. Then set up the arena so you don't have infinite health, a difficulty higher then easy. (I used titan) and some enemies set to attack you. (the more powerful the enemies the better.) now go into the arena and die, and keep dieing until it asks you if you want to switch to easy, and select no. It will then take you out to the main menu and give you the maxed out trophy. While in the arena you can do what ever you want. I was practicing fighting 3 Satyrs at once on titan when I stumbled across this glitch. All that matters is that you end up dieing.

***Credit to The_White_Fang for finding this glitch***
***This glitch was patched a while ago, so simply delete the patch from your GAME DATA UTILITY, not Save Game Utility. God Of War III doesn't need the patch because there is no online component. After you have gotten the trophy, you can re-install the patch if you so desire.

Yesterday I tried to get this trophy, watched the video on Youtube, read this forum, bummer, nothing works.

I found out that it's all about the game update that came out some time ago. This update makes it impossible to earn a trophy by losing five times in the combat arena. Those. The game asks us to do everything according to the rules, which means manually pumping up all the trophies.

You can avoid this and get the trophy the old fashioned way. To do this you need:

1) Turn on ps3

2) Turn off the Internet connection

3) Go to the game menu

4) Scroll up to manage game data, not manage saved ps3 data

5) Enter game data management

6) Find GOD OF WAR III and delete it.

7) We go into the game, select combat arena, after which we get the trophy in a way known to everyone:

- arena

- three top lines to level 1

- next line by default

- choose opponents and play

- die 5 times in a row

- the game offers us to lower the difficulty level, we refuse.

Don't be intimidated by a higher position! The trophy dropped (or rather, upgraded all the weapons) after the battle with the scorpion (in front of the Labyrinth) played on easy difficulty.

After completing it, 1500 was not enough) I was hoping that after completing it I could start a new game with all the progress as in the previous parts, but this is not the case here, so you need to upgrade everything in one playthrough. I had to gradually roll back loading old saves and found a couple of places where I missed chests, and as a result, before climbing the labyrinth I already received a trophy)

I played on normal difficulty and upgraded the weapons to the maximum in the 1st playthrough. I didn’t pursue the goal of winning this trophy. Anyone who has played all parts of this game knows that there are holes everywhere and that there are more chests with eyes, horns and feathers than you need, and if you collect them all, then the rest will simply drop out red spheres. Yes, and in fights with the boss there is such a feature as an infinite number of enemies, on which you can also get a lot of red spheres. So the first hint is in no way correct, don’t even bother!

If you have already completed the game and are missing a few orbs to fully upgrade, don’t despair! Thanks to the glitch, you can get the trophy in a matter of minutes. What needs to be done? 1) Beat the game. 2) Go through all the tests of Olympus to open the battle arena. Then everything is simple. We go into the arena, set the difficulty level to “God”, Health to any level, the main thing is that it is not infinite. Next, set weapons and things to maximum, select any enemies into the arena, we die five times in a row, we are offered to change the difficulty level to an easier one, but we click “No” and we are automatically thrown into the main menu and after a couple of seconds we have the coveted trophy.
