How to unlock the No Guts, No Glory achievement in God of War III - Definitive Guide

There are only three Centaur Generals in the game: the first is in Ares' Tomb during the beginning of the game, the second is in the City of Olympia shortly after severing Gaia's hand, and the last is just outside the Gates of Tisiphone not long after Hephaestus sends you to find the Omphalos Stone. After dealing enough damage to a centaur, you can initiate a QTE minigame to finish them off (as with many other large enemies in the game), which ultimately sees Kratos gut them.

Throughout the game, there are 3 Centaur Generals that you will meet. The idea here is to beat them up enough that the QTE prompt is over their heads and then perform it. This will gut the Centaur General.

You have to do this to all 3 Centaur Generals in the game to get this trophy.

  • The first one you'll find is in Ares' tomb, as you make your way up Mount Olympus near the start of the game.
  • The second one is on the city steps of Olympia.
  • The last one is guarding the Gates of Tisiphone.

Check out the video below for strategies on how to beat these enemies. Credit to PowerPyx.

A little tip on killing the second centaur for beginners.

You will meet him in Olympia, when the lava titan and Helios (the sun god) on a fiery chariot are fighting in the background.

This moment is a little complicated (for beginners), so I’ll tell you how to easily and quickly defeat it without spending a single hit of your life.

After the video with the appearance of the centaur, you need to run up the rise to the upper terrace (located right next to the gate from which the centaur comes out). Maybe it's a game bug. but a crowd of enemies will not follow you there in 90% of cases. In 10% of cases they will come up, try to hit you, and then go down (even if you hit them at that moment). So from this rise, simply shoot all opponents (including the centaur) from Apollo’s bow, and then (when a burning circle appears) simply perform a finishing move.

Attention, killing is protected only during the passage. In the arena or when loading a save, the trophy will not be counted, so if you miss one of the centaurs on the way, you will have to go through the game again until the required number of centaurs appear and are killed
