I got this by swinging for the ball as early as possible. I clasped both my hands together and swung upwards from the top of my right hip across my body diagonally from right to left, almost to the top of my head. The swing needs to be fairly fast, lifting the ball upwards as far as possible. If successful the score should appear on the screen of 10,000 for the home run. Do this 5 times in a row and the achievement should pop.

Thank you so much! Worked like a charm. Can't seem to score any baskets in the other mini-game though :(

So glad it worked for you :) With the baskets try jumping and then (starting with your hands near your shoulders) pushing forwards and upwards on a diagonal with your arms. I found the baskets a lot more difficult to get, seemed to be more luck than anything :(

In this minigame, the objective is to hit 5 home runs in a row with the PS Move. For better results, hold the PS Move in horizontal position and hit the ball moving the controller NOT straight to the PS Eye, do it in diagonal-down move just like if you were digging. You will see if your ball goes away earning you 10,000 points. Repeat this process 4 more times in a row for the trophy.
You should find the trick after some time batting.
