How to unlock the Lars Ulrich achievement in Guitar Hero: Metallica - Definitive Guide

This can be done by beating the 12 songs or so that it takes to complete a career. It can be done on any difficulty including beginner. Once you have enough stars to move onto the next venue, play songs there. Rinse and repeat until you get to Ice Cavern and play the last song. The achievement unlocks once the final song is complete.

Can I use the Auto-kick cheat and beginner difficulty to essentially make the game play itself? Like putting the mic next to the speakers on beginner vocals?

Or am i gonna have to sit and kick my way through fifteen songs? ;( Why are GH games always so stingy on points??

Because the word "achievement " means that you actually need to "achieve" something! Anyway it is more rewarding getting 10G on a GH game than what it is to get 200G on a game such as King Kong! Oh, and yes you do have to "play" the songs. Unlike other games you have to work for your points in GH games!

It is also worth noting that you can progress towards completing the career without playing songs at the most recently unlocked venue. You can play the first dozen or so songs in the game and use the stars obtained from those to unlock every venue including the Ice Cavern. Then playing The Thing That Should Not Be at the Ice Cavern will unlock the achievement.

In fact, you may have an easier time doing it this way as the first few venues contain easier songs than the last few venues.

In addition to the guides above... This can only be unlocked in a Single Career, not in a Band Career. Maybe this was obvious to others, but I learned the hard way. :( At least I got some practice. ;)

Beat the game on the drum career by beating "The Thing That Should Not Be" after getting 70 or so stars. Difficulty doesn't matter either.

Connect the guitar hero drumset to the ps3. Using the drum to navigate select "career" from the main menu, then select "drums". Then, select the difficulty you are comfortable with.

It is not necessary that you complete all the songs. The way the system works is that once you have earned a specific number of stars (depending on your performance in each song) a new stage will unlock with a whole new set of songs. Once you reach the final set (which only has one song in it, complete the final song and you will have completed the career as the vocalist and will obtain this trophy.
