How to unlock the 8th Wonder achievement in Guitar Hero: Smash Hits - Definitive Guide

Name of achievement- "8th Wonder"
Description- "You completed the song Through The Fire And Flames with 4 stars or more as the Guitarist on Expert."

In order to get this, I believe you have to score around 402,000 points or more to get at least four stars. I can't really offer the best advice on this song because I am only ok at it. However, I will try.

1) Learn the intro and take advantage of the purple notes. The intro is slightly different from GH3 but easier IMO.

2) Set goals for yourself throughout the song to keep you on track. For example, at the end of the intro and the rampaging dragons (strumming part) right at the break, I aim to have at least 60k, and if I don't get it, I just start over so I don't waste my time. There are a few other spots to do this as well so take advantage of this to help save time.

3) Use hyperspeed! For those still unfamiliar about it, what it does is space out the notes making them easier to see. The higher the number (1-5), the more spaced out they are. The cheat is R,G,B,Y,G,Y,R,R (with each letter representing the first letter of the color of the fret, and no strumming or crazy chords this time around!) I personally like to use HS5, but for those just getting used to it, I would start out lower like @ 1 or 2.

4) Watch the video! This is Danny "GuitarHeroPhenom/Phenomman" Johnson. He's a pretty good player, at least for his time. Granted since I made this solution years ago, much better players have come out. But since he always does a hands video to go along with the chart, you may get an idea on what to tap and how to as well. Also, he uses a proper starpower path for those trying to figure out where to use it. Finally, he usually (might not have any yet, but I'm sure they are coming) makes tutorial videos for difficult songs like this so be sure to check them out. *He has a few different tutorials for those still wondering how to perform well on GH3's chart in case anyone was wondering.*
(edit-sorry, the video was taken down on Phenom's channel and reposted, so here's the video again.)

This just makes me sad. It doesn't even look like it's difficult for him. That's incredible.

my god 4 staring this song is way easier on guitar hero III i hate these purple slider notes, they break my streak (at least hammer ons are consistent) and on the long streak of notes that go back and forth after the intro are ridiculous without the hammer ons they seem impossible to keep a note streak

taping the green fret down during the intro helps alot if you are struggling with the intro.

Sorry for the confusion. The notes that are slider notes are sort of purple looking in my opinion. They look translucent or glassy. They appear in the intro and are used throughout the song at random points, usually in place of hammer-ons. Other very noticeable places are Synth Death and the "You Rock" outro.

This is one of the hardest trophies to get. You have to get 4 stars on 'Through the Fire and Flames' Expert Guitar.

The song is one of the hardest songs ever in Guitar Hero. You have to practice the song to hit the star power parts and activate star power when you have a good streak. Practice the solos to pass them without star power and the rapid strumming verses so you can streak them and activate star power there for score boost. For the hardest solos, you can hit notes randomly while strumming. For the tapping parts you can use two hands so you can hit more random notes. If you practice the intro and can 100% it, you'll get a good score boost for the rest of the song.

To get 4 stars you'll need about 402,000 points.

Below is a video showing how to get 4 stars on the song.
