How to unlock the Killing In The Name achievement in Guitar Hero: Smash Hits - Definitive Guide

There's an even easier way to boost this if you have a buddy. It requires pretty much no input from him.

Host a player match set to battle mode on guitar, and invite your buddy to join. Have him set to expert, you set to easy. The "random" player picker will always pick the host to pick a song, and the host is you. Pick TTFAF, he'll fail the intro without having to do anything.

Do NOT continue to setlist, quit back out to the lobby, and hit start matchmaking again. This will refresh the session and since it's the first song in the session, the "random" player picker will land on you, every single time you do this.

So basically, your buddy just has to join and set himself to expert, he can then go do whatever he wants until you get the achievement. Just be nice and do the same for him, roles reversed. It's super easy this way. :P

does it effect anything if I do continue to the setlist?

It means the other person has to be there to pick the song. By backing out and going back in, you circumvent that process making you pick every song, so your partner doesn't have to be there.

i did this with my friend and I went through the entire setlist which is 50 songs and no achievement. Ive probably done about 30 wins before I started boosting it.

Exactly 1 min. Per match ( used a stopwatch). Worked perfectly and second player only had to invest <5 min, thumbs up!

It is worth mentioning that the process of backing out to the matchmaking menu, instead of continuing on back to the setlist, ads another few seconds for the additional loading screens. So if you both can be by your controllers with an eye on the tv, the fastest way to do it will still be to alternate who picks TtFaF.

You can do this by playing online and win 50 matches (Battle, Band VS Band, Face-Off or Pro Face-Off).

Or you can do this with a buddy online and choose Battle, then when you have to pick a song, pick the first song, and fail when the song starts. Do this 50 times and the other one gets the achievements. Be nice enough to let the other one do the same for you.

Good method. With loading screens, we averaged 50 seconds per Battle, so 100 matches can be done in just under 1.5 hours. Thanks!

This achievement does not always unlock after 50 wins. There doesn't seem to be any way to know for sure when you're going to get it, all the data indicates that the game mode or whether or not the person quits on you doesn't matter.

Some people have gotten it after games they've lost, personally I got it after 82 wins. You just have to keep playing until it gives it to you.

When you got a boosting buddy, get both the games on expert and choose battle mode. Just let your buddy strum out before the song starts and your win a song in just seconds. pick another song from the setlist and just rinse and repeat. It takes around a hour or so per person to get the wins. Just count your won games as the achievement does not always pop up right away. Get one more win the needed and let your buddy quit on you. The cheevo should unlock then. Otherwise, return to the dashboard and it pop's up!

You need to win 50 matches against an online player. You can boost this with a friend because 50 wins can take a while. Pick Battle mode because you don't have to complete the whole song to win. Make sure the losing player strums rapidly when the song starts so you win. Take turns and you should get the trophy after your 50th win.
