You Play It Well

You Play It Well

Perfectly play the Lets Play section in the song Play With Me as a lead Guitarist on Expert.

How to unlock the You Play It Well achievement in Guitar Hero: Smash Hits - Definitive Guide

To get this achievement you need to be fairly good at Guitar Hero. The only way that you can get better is to practice, practice, practice. For the "Let's Play" section of "Play With Me" I did it all one-handed because I found that tapping the oranges was hard, due to the semi-broken purple notes.

Start off on Slowest and just work your way up.

Also to get this achievement you have to hit the section in the ACTUAL song, not Practice Mode.

Here is a tutorial video (not mine) from YouTube. The guy in the video taps the oranges, if you can do it that way then whatever works for you.

I found it also helped to practise with the previous sections a few times before going for the actual run. This way you know when it is coming up and can prepare yourself, I also missed the 10 or so notes before the section began in order to concentrate fully on it.

I guess it just depends on what you're good at, for example I found this one easier to get than the Raining Blood one because I suck at quads.

You know how much it sucks to play this entire song only to find out that you 99% the Let's Play section. ;,,(

I can tap the oranges just fine, but I can't for my life hit the little red zigs . _.

Got this done today. As already posted just put it into practice and slow it down. I used the 2 handed method to tap the orange with my right hand.

I can 100% this every time on Warriors of Rock, but fuck me the see through notes are broken on this game. I roughly get around 80% on this, Ive re calibrated lag countless times. Hate how the shitty see through notes are holding me back on this...

Sorry again, for posting a VERY late guide on how I completed this section..these were done nearly 5 years ago now lol.

I only use TWO fingers in this tutorial...for people who aren't so consistent on their other fingers I definitely recommend using the slide method and tapping the orange with your middle finger.

This trophy is one of the hardest trophies in game. You have to complete the Let's Play section 100% with guitar on Expert. Good thing is that you don't have to streak through it, you can overstrum.

I spent the whole day in Practice mode to get it. Start practicing with the slowest speed and when you can 100% it move one step faster. If you are having trouble, return to a slower speed. When you can 100% it at normal speed, you need to go to get the trophy. You can't get the trophy in Practice mode.

Start the song in Quickplay and play until you reach the Let's Play section. Stop playing a bit before it comes. Then hit the tapping section correctly. After it you still have to hit the strums after it. One time I hit every note in the tapping but missed a strum. You can strum like crazy while holding the correct fret to make sure you don't miss any notes there.

I used two hands to get the trophy. The first part of the tapping is just going from green to orange and back but you have to hit one extra red before going up to orange. Hit it with your left index finger while holding the green fret down all the time. Hit the orange with your right index finger.

The second part is easiest IMO. It is same as the first part but you have to hit one extra blue before going down to green. Just tap the orange button three times with your right hand to nail that part.

After it, you have to quickly get your right hand to the strum bar and strum the third part where there are simple notes going up from green to blue and red to orange. Strum like crazy to make sure you don't miss the notes.

After you have or think you have 100% you still have to complete the song. Don't screw here or you don't get the trophy. After the song, the trophy will pop up.

You can also get someone to hold the green fret button for you but for this song, it doesn't help that much.

Below is a video on how to get the trophy. In the video, the player only taps the orange notes in the second part of the tapping but I like to tap the first part too. You should test which method suits you better.

Thanks to RawrItsJeremyFTW for the video
