How to unlock the Chosen One achievement in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock - Definitive Guide

It has been brought to my attention that Fury Of The Storm is only available upon the completion of quest mode, therefore you MUST complete that first (Thanks "Doominatorx6"). Because of this you will have the upgraded powers for this anyway.

1.First off, this can only be obtained in "Quickplay+" and you must be on hard at minimum (I would reccommend hard, but it is up to you).

2.Once you are in quickplay+ find Fury of The Storm and then hit green over it to select it. Instead of selecting the option "play song" go to the option beneath called "star challenges".

3.At this point you will be shown several different instrument and band challenges, however ignore them and select the "power challenge" at the top of the screen.

4.When asked to choose your 2 powers select both "Star Power Amplifier+" and "Streak Guardian+" or apparantly "ressurrection+" is another good one to use (Thanks "Doominatorx6" for that one).

5.When the song starts hit as many notes and star power phrases as possible (I just mashed the notes I saw) and even though you will get full star power for one phrase still try and save it untill you are in trouble and then use it, because you may not hit another one which may leave you vulnerable to failing in harder areas.
The following and much better drumming technique is from "Doominatorx6" so thank him for this...
If you're on hard, you get a basic pattern like GR + G(and pedal)+ GR + G(and pedal) etc... this pattern is easy but really fast, meaning if you have puny arms (like doominator, sadly) you'll get tired easy and fail out. DON'T hit the Green and Red. Just alternate between the green and red while hitting the pedal. You won't get a streak going by any means, but your rock meter will barely budge.

6. Good luck and remember that you don't have to do anything impressive on this. You just need to get through it.

If I have missed anything or if you have any questions please leave a message below...

tscchhhiess,... I did this in regular QP+ WITHOUT these powers.... "I didn't know", didn't check well before playing, thinking it was only doable without the powers, just like the 'Hand Mutilator' achievement ....
Well, okay, luckily I had the help of my twinbrother who can do the kick-pedal(s) for me, so 'we' did it...
but well, pffff, now knowing 'bout this: I find it STUPID!!!
hhmpf, I now dare to say: THIS IS AN EASY achievement!!! tsscchhies, playin' with these powers, ... hmpf, powers ...with the 'resurrector' or 'streak saver' HOW can you fail?
Same goes for that Bass achievement .... I managed to pass it on Expert... I mean, come on, Hard, that makes it so easy; already over 500 people got it ... What's the challenge on hard for that song??
Well, anyway, completed this game and good luck to all of you tryin' to complete it .... you can now see how NOT difficult this is ...
I have spoken
Sorry for being so mad; I'm frustrated after just finding out about this (maybe I could've done it by myself this way and it feels as if this achievement is 10 times easier "this way"; they had to make the same requirement as in "Hand Mutilator": NO POWERS!)
:-p
on the other hand: I shouldn't be BITCHING so much; I must be glad that the achievements aren't as difficult as in other GH / RB games AND I must be happy that I got these achievements; not complaining about them being "too easy" or something ... ...
hihihi
I'm sorry, man, I just had to share this with you!

guess that makes sense, yes, what you say 'bout the power option (there to make it more possible for people new to GH, beginner players, etc.)
That's actually well said.
I did the drums ach. btw on Hard; didn't even try on Expert
(knowing 'bout this achievement in GH: Smash Hits/Greatest Hits, where you have to maintain a streak of at least 100 notes on Hard or Expert drums on TTFAF; and, of course, when "just hearing" these songs of Dragon Force, you can already 'hear' that it's gonna be a tough one)
So, overall, I also think this game, GH: Warriors of Rock, has good achievements!

Thanks a lot for this solution, just got the achievement today....had to be in the right frame of mind for it though.

I used Star Power Amplifier+ and Streak Guardian+ like stated. Ressurector didn't work for me. It was better having star power than retries after failing. Personally, I think if you were failing a lot in the first sections of the song then you would fail more than 5 times all the way through.

Streak Guardian was a MUST for me though, kept the rock meter stable.

The song was surprisingly easier in the 2nd half aswell, gave my hands a lot of resting time and much needed star power. I also found it easier to pause and rest my hands if I was losing the rhythm because when you unpause, it rewinds it a bit so you can ease back into the song.

Once I figured this method out, I went from constantly failing at 20-30% to passing the song instantly. I did ignore the kick pedal when there weren't many of them, but some sections had them every 2nd note. You cannot ignore those.

I love these little weasel holes that make nigh-impossible achievements attainable without devoting months to learning another plastic instrument. Using Streak Guardian and Resurrection, I just did this achievement. Using a Rock Band drum kit (which may have made it even easier?), and only the face buttons and foot pedal of that drum kit -- never once touched the pads themselves.

Took one attempt, during which I technically failed out three times/was resurrected three times, and my fingers hurt like hell from mashing A and Y to much (the pause button is right there; don't be an idiot like me, use it!) -- I just sorta flailed on the secondary note(s) and foot pedal the whole way -- but it's done. I actually wound up nailing seven or eight of the Star Power Phrases, somehow, without really paying any attention to them. Also, I used Star Power only when dipping into the lower yellow or after being resurrected. Didn't seem like it would help much otherwise, since you either maintain green meter or you suddenly nosedive.

Haha. I wish I was good enough at drums to even consider trying this the hard (mans) way...

Just thought I`d mention this power-up combo. I tried the other 2 & only made it about 45% through, obviously showing my lack of drum skills. However I tried Speed Freak & Star Power Generator & it was actually really simple. You`ll always have a 2X multiplier which I think makes a HUGE difference. Give it a shot if all else fails, unless your arms already fell off!

i kinda doubt the multiplier makes any difference to how quickly the rock meter goes up/down. honestly streak guardian/resurrection is probably the safest combo, though you could switch one of those out for either sp generator (though you'll need to be able to hit a decent number of 10 note streaks for it to be worthwhile) or sp amplifier.

The multiplier power would help a lot if it was a score target, but multiplier definitely has no effect on the rock meter (dylan probably benefitted from the star power coming from generator). Safest combo would might be Guardian and ressurector, but another thing to consider is that streak guardian works to protect your streak for the 10 note streaks needed for Generator as well, so you can still miss (some) and get lots of SP from generator if you also have streak guardian power.

^^^ Ok... I personally agree with you that the achievements in this game have been made TOO easy, however if they had made say, this achievement different and changed the requirements too "Complete Fury Of The Storm on expert plus drums WITHOUT powers and get 5 stars" for example, then yes it makes it much more challenging for all us "experienced" players out there, but at the same time it makes it almost unobtainable for less experienced or beginner players that are new to the game.
I actually think that some of the achievements in the game are quite clever and challenging if done in the right way. I mean that this achievement and the bass one do NOT say complete these songs WITH powers so if you want a challenge don't use them... The power option is there to make it more possible for beginner players (or people like me that suck at drums).
This game has good achievements :-)

OK, i did this on Hard, and i found it VERY quick - and painful........im not a very good drummer, so was great to get it.

Anyway - i used Star Power Generator and Multiplier Extender. I found that if you have a good rythm you'llfind yourself with Star power for long stretches of this song, and even the weakest of drummers can easily achieve this one.

Last tip - Use Pause if you're getting tired, it'll burn the arms if you're not used to the speed (cudos to the expert drummers that fly thru this one:)

^^^ Thanks for the input, but why "multiplier extender"? Does it do anything I don't know about? It is a very tiring song and yes I also used the pause button about 3 times during the song....

I have much respect to expert drummers too for songs like this. I play with "DisturbedDrumma" a lot and I often get put off my part due to watching him... Lol.

Thanks for this guide dingie89!
I'm much better at drums then I am at guitar and found this one not too hard. Got it on my first go. I used the 'Streak Guardian+' and 'Resurrector+' but probably didn't need them, however better be safe then sorry!

Now could someone do the 'Hand Mutilator' achievement for me please? I'll give you 5000msp! Haha.
I'll never get that achievement :(

^^^ No problem and well done on getting the achievement! As for somebody getting the "Hand Mutilator" achievement for you. I would have offered, but you don't unlock the song needed until you have completed quest mode meaning it would take forever... You are probaly best off asking someone you know locally to try and do it for you. If that fails; practice, practice, practice...

Wow I didn't think to use powers. I did it by myself without powers lol.

I'm okay on medium drumming on most songs and wasn't sure I could pass this. I tried first with Star Power Amplifier and Resurrector and couldn't get past 28%. I switched Star Power Amplifier for Streak Guardian and never used a Ressurection at all. Thanks for the tips!

^ No worries. I wrote this guide to help people who are as bad as me on drums and it seems to have worked so that makes me happy too. Congratulations on getting the achievement :-)

I used your method and at first I was thinking this isnt working, but It worked today. I just want to add one last tip to anyone who sees this. I kept failing at around 20 percent, maybe 30 if I got lucky, As soon as I turned Hyperspeed OFF, I got to 42 percent twice in a row, and just failed because I didnt hit a star power, The third run I beat it with star power still left. I still highly recommend using "Streak Guardian" and "Star Power Amplifier" because they make any song so much easier.

BTW: I bet I am about as bad as it gets at playing drums(I just cannot handle hitting a pad and kick pedals at the same time lol) and I got this achievement after some tries, so I think nearly anyone can get this if I can

First try. And I have only played the campaigns on beginner, and just started playing the other day. This was shockingly easy using your method. Those down votes need to give their heads a shake.

Some people probably don't understand that this is a site for getting achievements as "easily" as possible and are upset about me telling people to do this achievement easily like I suggest. In which case, play the song without powers. Or I guess they might just be down-voting for no reason. Oh well, glad it helped you at least. :-)

Shout out to Darrcyphfeid, I couldnt really get the rhythm of this song and even though everyone says this is so easy with powers I kept failing. But once I read his comment about using the face buttons on the Rock Band drums instead of the pads I was doing much better and then got after a few more tries. Made all the difference for me.

I didn't know that Fury of The Storm was only unlocked upon the completion of Quest mode so thanks for that.

What you say about drumming makes sense. Hitting the snare (or any other note) and the pedal together normally does benefit your rock meter the most so I will try and write that up in the solution.

As for the power challenge. I only reccommended doing that, because I am not very good at drums myself and I, therefore based the solution on the easiest way of passing this for other people who like me, struggle on drums.

Thanks for the info. I will add it in the solution and credit you for it...

I think Flava1975 was on to something when suggesting to use Speed Freak. I tried pretty much every other combination here without success, failing at roughly the same place. Then I tried Speed Freak + Streak Guardian and never even dropped out of the green. It definitely didn't have anything to do with more/less star power or notes hit, but rather that the higher multiplier made the rock meter rise faster. I also didn't play any bass notes expect the easiest spaced out ones with little or no other drumming. So, if you are still having trouble passing with the conventional suggestions, give Speed Freak a try.

I created a video tutorial so you can see how I got past the song. In this video I'll show you how to get PAST the song 'Fury of The Storm' by DragonForce. I'm not showing how I get a high score or an FC or whatever you expect to see. If it helped you, let me know (:

This is one of the hardest trophies in the game. All you have to do is beat the song, you don’t have to 5-star it. The easiest thing to do is have one person hit bass notes for you while you play the drum kit. You can also use 2 powers while you play the song. If you are not good at drums, I recommend using Resurrection and Starpower extender.

similar to Giant Slayer only on drums.

The song requires normal breathing, because you can die while you are knocking. I advise you to play with pauses: play for two minutes, rest for five minutes.
