How to unlock the Diamond Master achievement in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock - Definitive Guide

Just play expert bass on Nickelback - How you remind me. One of the bass challenges requires you to upstrum and the other is for the high score. There are no tricky parts in the song, so if you do quite well and upstrum the whole song 20g will be yours.
important: Restart the song if you made a mistake because You MUST earn the diamonds on the first finish of the song.

strange, you should get the upstrum to if you get the high score. How many notes did you miss? I do have the achievement myself, my profile just needs to get updated.
I selected the upstrum challenge in the challenges overview. Than I just upstrummed all the way (98% notes hit) resulting in 2 diamonds (1 for high score and 1 for upstrum). This was the first time on this challenge, so I didn't had any medals beforehand,

I see, no medals beforehand. I fear that is the key to this achievement.
I guess I'll have to pick another (and probably more difficult!) song then...
I'll try again on Nickelback though, perhaps my game was just confused because my wife and I played together at first (I logged her and the instrument out before trying this achievement).

Thanks bramstroker. Played Nickelback on expert bass, upstrummed the whole way and got 100% so got my diamond challenge achievement. A very easy song to do to get this achievement. I should point out that I had no medals for this song beforehand.

Glad it worked for you guys. I'm used to alternate strumming as well, but I found it quite amusing trying to upstrum only :P

Perfect. Thanks for the tip. I only missed one note and got diamond for upstrums and score. That's out of the way now.

Is there any way to "reset" the song? I got diamond on two occations and missed the achievement...

I don't think you can reset songs. Just pick one of the songs mentioned in the other solutions and restart the song if you made a mistake.

Have you done this yourself? I don't see your achievement yet.
Also, the achievement says "on a single play of a song". This makes it a lot trickier. I'm not sure how it works yet.

I did get diamond on high score and on up-strum, but on seperate occasions. I don't understand how I wouldn't get the up-strum platinum if I got the high score though...
Can anyone explain better maybe?

I have found that the two diamond medals you need, HAVE to be earned for the -first- time, at the -same- time.

So don't get one first, come back later for the other. It will NOT work. Even if you get them both again.

Pick an easy song with easy challenges. Challenge the one you need to keep an eye on, because if you near the end of the song and you earned one already, you'll have to restart.

Again (I can't stress this enough): you'll get the achievement only if you earn two NEW diamond medals. (You need to get career stars for them.)

Good songs for this are:
How you remind me (as suggested by bramstroker)
Unskinny Bop (I used this)

Yeah, I hesitated if I wanted to continue the discussion at your solution or start a new one. This seemed better.

I used Tick Tick Boom by The Hives on Medium Guitar. Medium is about the best I can do, so I was worried about this achievement.

It's short, so retries aren't too frustrating. It also means there aren't so many spots you have to whammy like crazy for the star power. Only a few. When you activate star power just feel free to stop playing and shake the guitar like crazy to get rock out. Pretty easy. =]

One song I have not seen recommended is "Losing my religion" by "R.E.M", If of course you have never won a diamond medal on this song then do this on MEDIUM BASS, and get 100%. If you do so you will get 2 diamond medals, the high score medal (helps if you use star power as much as possible) and also Note streak medal, You'll need 109,500 for the high score diamond medal and a 145 note streak for the diamond streak medal and it's easily won on you're way to the high score medal. Hope this helps anyone stuck with this achievement as it's a lot easier alternative than doing any song on hard or expert if you're not that experienced at the game.

I used "Black Horse and The Cherry Tree" from Band Hero for this one. On Expert Bass there are only 42 notes, and 2 challenges for a 14 note streak and a high score which you'll easily get if you can FC the song or even if you miss a note. This is a pretty easy song even if you're not used to playing Expert.

READ the *Note* first!! The main solution is only IF you fail with that. Also...your gonna vote negatively please have the guts to comment why..

Ok first off nothing to take away to these guides and stuff but if you can't play guitar on expert or even medium like me, then this solution is defiantly for you. Ok 2ndly the one downside with this solution is you will have to purchase a DLC song, but if you badly want the cheeve it's good as yours if you do this, and there is only 3 simple steps.

*Note* You can also get this cheeve by singing the song Chemical Warfare by Slayer on expert as long as you hit the few notes that require pitch but it can be done. Other than that no other song can with speaking words only have 2 challenges only high score.

Step 1. - Buy the song 100 Little Curses by Street Sweeper Social Club (160 MS points)

Step 2. - Get a mic and put the song on expert.

Step 3. - Either just put the mic up to the fan with auto star power on or actually sing/yell the song the whole time it's pretty easy.

The boom you have the achievement...the entire song is only just words no variation of tune. So if you suck at guitar like me here you go. Enjoy.

Unfortunately I messed up on both How You Remind Me and Unskinny Bop. Looking for other options, I found one in my DLC.

If you have purchased the song Jet (by Wings), this is very easy. It has two challenges for Bass Guitar (highscore and a note streak of around 85) both which are very easy on Expert and will get you 2 diamonds long before the end (at least for me it worked).

To recap: Jet by Wings on Bass at Expert difficulty

However, before purchasing any songs, I'd advise How You Remind Me, just like Wulf684 said. My method works if you somehow screw up Nickleback (like I did)

If you have the "Neversoft Thanks the Fans track pack" for GH5/GHWOR and if you have troubles playing on medium or expert, you can choose Lemon Frosting by Bunny Knutson on Bass EASY. That's what I did by accident while playing for the 2000 stars achievements. Medals for that song are: High score (38 600 for diamond) and Note streak (88 for diamond) and I did 44 174 with 192 streak (100%).

Warning: before going for that achievement whatever the song and difficulty you choose, I advise you to copy your save just in case you make mistakes. That way you don't have to pause the game to check your medals.

This trophy is earned the same way as Gold Master. Instead of earning gold on 3 challenges, you have to earn diamond on 2 challenges. This should be simple if you choose an easy song like "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback.

This is more of a generalized solution.

Your best bet is to go for this on guitar as guitar will have 3 challenges instead of 2 on bass, drums or vocals.

The idea is to get 2 (or more) diamond challenges at the same time in one single attempt of the song.

It does not matter if you have already obtained the Diamond challenge before, you can still track progress on challenges you have already completed and they will still count towards the achievement but you'll have to achieve them again on your attempt.

You may have to play on higher difficulties to get this as Diamond challenges tend to be tailored to only be obtainable on Expert and you will just fall short on Hard difficulty in some cases.

You may be able to get 1 diamond challenge on Easy/Medium but this trophy requires you to do 2 in one go.

Best way to tackle this if you are unfamiliar with Hard/Expert is to press orange on the song selection screen and select Guitar Intensity. This will place the easier songs at the top and the toughest songs at the bottom.

The easier songs on Hard/Expert will be the best way to get this trophy anyway, the challenges on these songs will be the easiest.

in a quick game, after choosing a song, go to Star Challenge and see what diamonds are given for. Well, we play as we should. earned at least one in 2 songs, the trophy is yours.

For this trophy you need to get 2 diamonds in one song in one game. that is, they turned on the song, played it, got 2 diamonds =

the only place where I managed to do this was the song Modern Day Cowboy - we play it on bass on hard.

it's very easy to do. I turned it on for the first time and immediately got 2 diamonds, although I don’t play very well
