How to unlock the String Twins achievement in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock - Definitive Guide

Very easy to do solo if you have an extra guitar. If not get a buddy to get the same song and do over live.

Go to GH tunes and search for song called string twins. Set both guitar and bass to same difficulty (not sure if that is necessary ? but just in case.

Note: Song was not created by me I just found it while searching GH Tunes.
Song was made by TBS Stufin135 so credit for a job well done to him.

Update : Jan 18 2011 BecomingDeath13 has commented that this solution may no longer work, I don't have the game any more so cannot check for myself.

I believe this option is no longer possible as I tried it with a ghtunes track. Everytime my friend and I selected guitar and bass the non neversoft gh songs would disappear from the setlist. It appears to have been patched.

Becomingdeath13 is correct actually, i think he is reffering to playing with a friend over xbl, which from last nights experience doesnt work.,

Works perfectly local, just not over live. So you are both right! :)

I can confirm that they are both correct. This works locally but does not work over Live.

@ LIBERT4D Go to quickplay plus and pick a song. In the "play song / Challenges / etc" menu that appears, scroll down and select "Display Options". You might have "Show GH Tracks" unchecked in there. I did, and had the same problem. After I ticked that box the GH Tracks showed up and I was able to get the cheevo just fine.

Yep still works as of 12 Mar 2020. The server is hit and miss but it does come up. Worked perfectly. Set both to beginner and pop! Easy! Thanks!

Fantastic guide!!! clap Thank you. Had the urge to rock out recently. Surprisingly, the GH Studio servers are still online, so you can still download that track.

This one is even easier than people realize.

Since both players could each not play and get a score of zero, they would have the same score if neither played. Either create a VERY short song (so you don't fail) or find a short one to download.

TBS Stufin135's "000" is 21 seconds long, and is short enough that if neither person plays at all, the song will end successfully. I did it on Beginner just to be on the safe side.

So... plug in two guitars (one guitar and one bass), load up that song, press play, and watch it pop.

Didn't work to begin with but then I realised I had 'no fail' turned on. Fine after that! Thanks.

A friend and I came up with a way to do this over XBox Live for when you don't have access to 2 guitars locally. Pick the song "2112 Pt. 5" and both play on Beginner.

The bassist needs to hit all 91 notes in this song.
The guitarist misses the entire intro and the first 2 flaming notes, then hits every other note.

This results in you both hitting 91 notes and the score will be the same.

Half the credit goes to MinimalTek GG AKA "Progressive"

Calex' solution works if you have a local partner or 2nd guitar for yourself, but if you don't:

Choose a song you are familiar with (we used Paranoid since gtr and bass parts are similar in density and speed). Set both players to Beginner and proceed to alternate hitting 5 notes at a time so that you don't fail out. When you get close to the end of the song, slow down to one note at a time if you need it to stay alive, otherwise just let the notes run by.

This achievement is much easier than everyone is making it!

Since GH Tunes is no longer available on Guitar Hero, if you have a 2nd controller, then you can create a very short song with 1 note each for bass and guitar, without having either instruments needing to play at all. Hope this helped.

I know this guide is extremely late, but I did just pick up this game a little under a year ago. I thought I would leave this guide for anyone still struggling to attain this achievement as the GH servers are long gone, although I’ve heard of people getting in after 10+ minutes of repeated attempts, I’ve had no such luck. Anyways onto the guide. Plug in 2 guitars with 2 accounts (ie guest or dummy XBL account doesn’t matter. Go to quick play put one on guitar and one on bass (obviously) put both on beginner and select the song string of the b. Once the song starts use one guitar to strum just enough notes to reach 3,200 points, but the guitar down and pick up the second one, this will obviously break the multiplier WHICH YOU NEED, then pick up the second guitar and proceed To strum enough notes to hit 3,200 points in that guitar as well bringing you to a total of 6,400 points for the song. Put both guitars down and wait out the rest of the song and bam cheevo. NOTE: you will almost fail the song with this amount of points but you will not actually fail so don’t feel the need to panic and strum more. Hope this helps.

Ok all I did was go into the GH Studio and made a song that only had 1 green gem note for both guitar and bass. Then I played that track on regular (Guitar and Bass) band mode by myself, and boom the achievement came.
Probably the easiest 30G I ever got

This is actually easier than it sounds. Play an easy song with a guitarist and a bassist both on beginner. All you have to do is hit the same amount of notes. Go to GHTunes and search for a song called "String Twins".

go to GHTrack, find the song string twins and play together. Each song has only 1 note)))
