In a game of Remix MOUSE TRAP there are a few ''spanner'' places on the board (looks like a big wrench) where you can land. Since there is only one spanner available you have to wait until another player gets a spanner. If the player that has the spanner loses or uses it, you have to wait again for someone to pick it back up from the spanne-space on the board.

Try to get on the ''spanner'' space when someone else already has it. The same time-based minigame that you need to do when running over traps, will start for stealing the spanner. Unlike the mini-game you play when passing by a trap, you only have one chance to hit the red marker when you're stealing the spanner. If the bleu icon travels down and then back up the game is lost. At the traps the same bleu icon just keeps going so try to get this mini-game the first try. You need to match the bleu icon with the red to win. The red icon at the stealing mini-game is usually all the way down.

In addition to Ramon's solution, I would recommend you set the traps on the two available spaces before EACH spanner. This will give you more oppourtunities to hit the spanner.

If you overshoot the spanner, simply get caught in the trap. You will lose cheese and be placed on the next square and you wil have another chance to hit the spanner. This will give you at least 8 chances to hit the spanner in one trip around the board instead of 4.

However, having more traps will make keeping the spanner more challenging since you increase the chances of landing on a trap directly. But i think it is worth the risk.

The solutions listed by Ramon and Johnny all have good information, so I definitely recommend reading them as well.

I'm posting additional information not covered in their solutions.

As implied by Johnny's solution, use 4 controllers if you got them to increase your odds of landing on the spanner.

(1) I recommend only using the boot trap. The mini game is the exact same as the spanner stealing one (except you get more time), but it's also one of the easiest to hit. I made the mistake of using traps with mini games that were harder to hit. One of my alts lost the spanner on a harder mini game, and I landed on the spanner with my main the next turn. I lost another thirty minutes on this one mistake. In any event, choose traps with mini games you are comfortable with.

(2) I also ended up placing a single boot trap before the first spanner. Any other trap spaces I landed on, I just picked boot trap again on the same space. The four spanner spaces are not too far apart, so I found in most cases, all 4 players passed the 4th spanner space before someone had won the game. It takes a while to get from the 4th spanner space back to the 1st one, so I usually just reset if my main account missed after the 4th spanner space. It seemed to save time for me when I didn't continue after the 4th spanner, and not having to deal with more than one trap.

With all that being said, this achievement is all luck of the die roll. It was especially cruel to me when my three alts got the achievement in the first game I attempted it, and my main account needed to wait another hour and half.

I would just like to add, that I used 4 computer players as there is much greater chance of one of them getting the wrench, and with blind luck got it on my first run..
If you know how the traps minigames work, it's not that hard to steal it.
