How to unlock the Gold plated achievement in Hasbro Family Game Night 3 - Definitive Guide

Mostly this is luck but I will share my tactics of winning in the "Game of Life". The real key to this is to go around the board slowly. Spinning 9s and 10s are bad. This game really has no reward for making it to retirement first. If you press A while the spinner is spinning you can attempt to stop the spinner close to where you want it. Small spins means you have more chances to get LIFE tiles. LIFE tiles are a big boost to your score at the end. Each child nets an additional 10k to your wealth so kids are a good thing. Buy the most expensive houses as you get a bigger return on them when sold. Also take the highest paying job you can. I did this as the vetrenarian with 3 kids 7 life tiles and the big mansion. Think I came out to 2.12 mil at the end.

Maybe you can also do this: Put 50.000 dollars on the number (or numbers), when you can (it's a sort of mini game, where you can gamble money on the spinner), then, if you land it on your number, you will get a half million, if not, you lose 50k which ain't that bad. I had the Gambling option 3 times in one game, and won it twice, but came very close to 2 million (had a shitty 40.000dollar job, that's prolly why).

A couple of things I found useful:
- If you have 3 controllers, play against two "friends", no AI. That way, if one of the other accounts lands on a lawsuit square, you can stick it to the opponent, not losing $100.000 (if you play against just 1 opponent you're guaranteed a loss, the amount depends on your wiggling the LS, but you cannot get out for free). Also, you get double the money for your wedding and children.
- If you have 4 choices when betting, always bet 4 numbers in sequence, it's easier to aim to stop the spinner that way. Don't bet at all with the other accounts, on the off chance they actually win.
- My first house was the one in third tile ($120,000), it resells for $20,000 more. I haven't even upgraded it later, as there is no financial profit in it.
- Retire to Millionaire's estate and pick the $50,000 tile. Retire other 2 accounts to the Countryside, that way they don't get a life card, just in case the game is close.

The big mansion doesn't actually help you as it costs $800,000 and it also resells for only $800,000. In fact any house, other than the trailer and the mansion help you the same; they all sell for $20,000 more than you have to pay. The trailer and mansion sell for exactly what you pay, so don't get those.

Always take the slower path; the longer it takes to get to the end the more money you can make (exception; don't pick "go back to school" unless you have a low paying job. You're making at least $70,000 a pay day, it doesn't really pay to take that path.) Take the college path; take the family path, take the risky path. Betting $50,000 on the spin to win is actually a good thing; you can get 10 times your money back or just lose your bet. If you get the share the wealth card that lets you bet on 4 numbers, that's a 40% chance of making 10 times your money back.

i agree. this is a real close call. use 2 players - u and your 2nd controller - my only solution would be as soon as you get chance to get the job offer. try and get the doctor job for 100,000. if you dont i probably would quit and start again. another tip i have which is a bit of a game is. maybe to risk 50,000 on the wheel mini game if you land on it which will net you 500,000. basically. just hope you land on life cards and land on the sue player 2 squares for 100,000 where u can just leave pad 2 to do nothing. rolling high numbers are not good. good luck

You must play an original mode game in order to achieve this trophy as the remix version doesn't deal with money. You need to retire at the end of the game and be worth more than $2,000,000 and win. Here are a few ways to help yourself get to that amount:

  • Take the College Career path as the jobs from that route pay alot more than the other one. Aim to become a Doctor (or whatever the highest paying one you are offered is) as it will pay you the most. When offered a chance to go back to school, do so and take the $20,000 raise.
  • Try to land on the "Sue" squares as you can steal $100,000 a time off your opponent with them. Also try to land on all the "Spin To Win" squares you can and gamble $50,000 on a number every time you do (you win $500,000 if you hit). Take the "risky route" near the end of the game as there are bunch of these squares along the way.

Once you win a game with over $2,000,000, the trophy will pop!
