Turn on Battle Boxes in the menu and purple gift boxes will appear randomly on the board. Hit one with one of your pawns to collect the power-up and you can use it on your next turn. The Ice Pawn spreads a patch of ice from where your pawn stops. Collect and use this 10 times over as many games as it takes to get this achievement. It helps to have the Turntable turned off.

Why can I not get this achievement? I have gotten the ice pawn about 50 times now!

No idea, haven't heard of it being glitched. I did it on a custom game with a 2nd controller. If you're still not getting it then maybe you could try deleting your save and starting a new one.

Actually, I think that the Turn Table MUST be turned off to get this. I started playing with some friends with the Turn Table on, so any time I played it by myself, I just played with the Turn Table on, because it was more fun. None of us had EVER seen the Ice Pawn.
When playing the other day, trying to up my total number of Sorrys!, I tried to better my chances, and turned the Turn Table off, and Danger Dots on (more chance of forcing a Sorry!). Within five minutes I had seen at least three Ice Pawns.
So I'm assuming that it is necessary to have the Turn Table OFF for them to show up. (And don't forget Battle Boxes need to be on as well.)
