To unlock Hard mode for a song you must play the Normal difficulty of said song. Hard mode is a step up and adds all the face buttons to the field and more button presses. As said previously the hardest songs in the game are “Sadistic Music Factory” and “NegaPosi*Continues” After you play a song so many times you will start to memorize where all the notes are overtime. There are a few “Help Items” that can help you have a slightly easier time if you are having trouble.

Star Changer – You’ll be able to hit * targets by pressing the

or buttons. - Double Killer – Double-input targets will not appear.
- Recovery – If your Song Energy hits 0, this item will restore it to 100% one time only.
- Combo Safeguard – Your first 30 SAFE and BAD beats will count as GOOD
If you use any other Help Item they will result in you getting a Lousy rank and not being able to “Pass” the song and continue on.
You do not need to play the red EXTRA songs for this trophy.

PS For me, the most difficult song was Negaposi*Continues, so you can end up without a thumb.
