How to unlock the Ashen Born achievement in Hellpoint - Definitive Guide
The Uthos, the Ashen Born boss is encountered in the Alma Mater area. He is some form of fire creature and as such standing too close to him will have your temperature gauge build. if it gets too hot, you'll catch on fire and receive damage over time. He is a fairly slow boss with a focus on stomping/melee attacks (and a nasty grab). He will also regularly summon fireball projectiles which we'll want to avoid and lava veins that populate the floor of the arena, which will damage you if you step in them, limiting your movement.
Strategy (from neoseeker) :
Uthos is a large boss that shuffles his way around the arena after you. If you get in close to him, he'll usually fall back on a combination of stomping attacks with his feet, and a grab attack which sees him pick up your character before flinging you to the ground and inflicting damage. He will also use an overhead slam, sending both hands into the ground in front of him. Note that both melee attacks will spawn residual magma on the floor which will last for a short time. The stomps can be avoided by hopping sideways, or backwards, the grab can be rolled through and the overhead slam should be backed away from.
From mid-long range, Uthos can do a number of attacks. The most common of these attacks are his projectiles - he'll stick some fingers up in front of his face and have a glyph form in the air behind him - this is a sign that he is summoning a series of three meteors that will fall to the arena floor. Similarly, he can open three portals above the arena and a meteor will fall from one of them. He can also crouch down and create a spinning energy disc above his back which will then be tossed in your direction. Whenever you see the boss starting one of these attacks, immediately run to his position and attack - when in close the projectiles will often never hit the boss and you can hack away whilst he is stuck in his attack animations.
The boss's most irritating attack is one in which he summons veins of lava to appear on the floor of the arena. Much like the residual fire that many of his attacks create, standing in the veins of lava will cause damage over time, limiting our available space to fight.
As the boss's stomp/grab/slam attacks are relatively easy to identify and avoid, remain close to the boss, and attack him once or twice after avoiding each of his attacks. When he starts summoning projectiles, immediately move into the boss's position and attack him - if you see projectiles coming, move around to the other side of the boss, using him as a shield. If he summons the veins of lava on the area floor, immediately disengage the boss and move to a section of the area when you have a bit more freedom of movement.

Very simple. Take the OTX artillery cannon in your second hand, you can pump it up (+9-10). You immediately start shooting. One clip is enough. Energy pumped up to 117.
