How to unlock the For your thoughts achievement in Hellpoint - Definitive Guide

As of 11/5/2020, this glitch still works. Not sure if the developer will patch this in the future. Here's a video guide for the glitch.

Basically, you want to start with a fresh profile and reach the first breach in Embassy. Once you make it to the first breach, you want to press start on a second controller to enter split screen and load the account you want to collect the coins on. You farm 3 coins pretty fast by repeating this method, but you have to make a new account for each run. THIS METHOD MAY GLITCH YOUR ACCOUNT, so it's best to save this for your last achievement.

I can confirm that as of 13/07/2021 this still works.
Didn't sign out of xbl
New character, ran until the second door opened.
Start on second controller, load in main character.
Collect 1st 3 coins.
Quit on 1st controller.
Rinse and repeat until 65 coins collected with main character.
Start with main character and collect coins until the numbers pop. Mine triggered at 67.

Can also confirm 67 are currently required as I collected all 66 coins and no achievement , then used this method to get 67th

You don't have to find all the coins in your own game. Just join someone else game and pick up coins until you get 66 coins. Achievement popped for me that way (^_~)¥

I can also confirm that it's still working as of 23/8/21. I followed JohnZoidberg's instructions - didn't go offline at all. Mine took a few minutes to pop after collecting my 67th coin. I was shitting myself that I screwed it up - so just wait a while if it doesn't unlock right away.

Also - during the farming, I quit on the 2nd controller first, then quit the 1st controller afterwards. Still worked that way. I also deleted a few of the dummy characters during the process - so that was still okay.

This didn't work for me after the next gen patch

Edit: apparently there was an achievement outage and that is why it didn't unlock. After that was cleared up I went back to my save and picked up a random item and it unlocked immediately. This is still working as of 8/12/22

Xbox currently experiencing achievement outage [update: seemingly fixed]

At the moment, 08/15/2020, the trophy cannot be completed HONESTLY, since there are places in which there is a glitch with a passage.

Also, coins DO NOT TRANSFER to NG+
BUT, it can be done quickly using a bug (copying items)
  • To do this you need:
  • 1) 2nd PSN account
  • 2) 2 joysticks
  • 3) THE INTERNET MUST BE DISABLED IN THE CONSTRUCTION SETTINGS THIS ENTIRE TIME UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE TROPHY


How to use the bug:

  • 1) Start the game from the 2nd account (the one where you DO NOT NEED to collect coins)
  • 2) Create a new character, go to the first rift
  • 3) Connect the 2nd joystick, go to your MAIN account , press OPTIONS and select to load your MAIN character
  • 4) Take the joystick from the main character and collect 3 coins that are in the starting location
(the first coin, as you go down where the first enemy in the game is, crossing the ledge near the wall there is a secret door, further down the corridor on the right there is an elevator, at the top there will be a coin in the right corner
The 2nd coin is in the area with the central elevator to the boss, where there is an NPC who is behind bars, to the left of him in the wall there is also a secret door, go up the elevator from the elevator to the right into the wall where there is also a secret door, there is a coin
3rd coin, immediately after the 2nd coin, go back further along the road until you see a V-shaped descent, jump off, follow this ledge all the way until you hit the edge, HERE YOU NEED TO EITHER HAVE OMNICUBE Phantom light (the purple lamp is shorter), or remember, jump on the ledge and go all the way until you get a coin)
  • 5) After collecting all the coins, exit the game with the main character
  • 6) On the second character, close the game, go to the main menu, delete the character (this is the second account, NOT the FIRST)
  • 7) Repeat steps 1-6 until the main character has 65!! coins , after that, close the game completely and log in to your main account.
  • 8) Next, you need to find 1-3 gold coins and wait for the trophy to proc, if it DOESN’T proc, then try the following:
- die
- up level
-exchange an item from a homeless person in the Observatory under a fault (I personally lost a trophy here)
- Change locations
- Defeat the boss (with the accumulation of 150% of the data, if you DID NOT EXCHANGE fragments of the Gods for weapons, you can resurrect any god from the ministry in Arisen Dominion and complete a task with him, for example, or kill him, this can be done ENDLESSLY)
- Strengthen weapons
- Hand over the item for spare parts at the station

As of 07/08/21, the bug works, but when farming coins, the save of the second (non-primary) account may be damaged. The damaged save will have to be deleted.

- there were 45 coins, increased to 65
- progressed through the game, collected another coin, the trophy did not fall out
- the steps in the hint above did not work. the trophy dropped when I picked up the armor set

I collected all 66 coins on ng+, for 1 coin I had to kill the architect - he drops a pass to the treasured door in the basement
