The easiest way to get this trophy is to override 5 machines of any type (you need to complete the cauldrons first as they give you the ability to override different types of machines), hit them with an arrow or with your spear and then repair them. You don't need to wait for them to get hit by other machines.

Must unlock Machine Repair. From there, you can override machines, damage them, them repair them. Do this to 5 different machine types.

The Machine and Mount Repair skills enable you to heal overridden machines by holding but you do not have to heal the machines to "full health", for them to count towards the trophy.
