How to unlock the Fully Improved Weapons achievement in Horizon Zero Dawn - Definitive Guide

Over the course of the story and sidequests you will get three new weapons. Varga is in a town called Longnotch and he will give you one task to improve each weapon. These are not the same weapons that you can buy for lots of Bluegleam from merchants.

I got the missions normally from talking to her first to activate them

For anyone having trouble with the missions not appearing, you have to buy the weapons from a trader and have them in your inventory. This will trigger the missions to start.

The three weapons are the Stormslinger, the Icerail, and the Forgefire. The Stormslinger is given to you by Ourea early on in the DLC, when you first meet her. The Icerail is given to you when you complete the hunt against Aratak. The Forgefire is obtained by clearing out the bandit camp located in the DLC area of the map.

Once you reach Longnotch, you can talk to Varga to receive three errands centered around upgrading these weapons. Once those errands have been completed and weapons upgraded, you will receive the trophy.

This will pop upon completing the 3 errands "Geared up: Forgefire", "Geared up: Stormslinger" and "Geared Up: Ice Rail". By doing the story missions, you will automatically obtain the Stormslinger and Icerail weapons. The Forgefire drops from the leader at the Bandit Camp (which you might have cleared as part of the story mission "For the Werak"). At some point the story will direct you to Longnotch (a location in the South-East). This is where you will find Varga, who will hand out these 3 errands that will upgrade each of the weapons.
