How to unlock the Grand Magnus achievement in Immortals of Aveum - Definitive Guide

Despite there being an actual difficulty called Grand Magnus (insane difficulty) you only need to complete the game on immortal (hard difficulty) like the description says. It's not that difficult to complete if you focus on the story for the first playthrough but you can always start a new game+ run. The best tip for combat is utilize the shield and get the perfect block skill because you can block a lot of damage

I finished new game plus on immortal difficult and achievement didnt pop x/

3rd run finally unlocked, maybe I was unlucky and it bugged for me, but this time I played on grand magnus difficult. Unskippable cutscenes, what a nightmare.

Can someone confirm that New Game+ worked for this achievement?
Was planning to do it in NG+ as well, but won't bother to start if its bugged.

Just a piece of advice I found an absolute godsend in the talent building. Get Shield Fient talent in the blue talent tree. It resets shield cooldown 100% after using blink (something I never really used before this) and it was a game changer. Use your shield, once broken press B (blink) then Lb after to shield again. Though blink also has limited charges, I recommend the green talent to give 1+ charge and the life ring to give you another for a total of 3+. Of course supplement shield strength through talents and items.

To add to Angus' advice, there is another talent in the green tree that heals you for 25% of the damage your shield takes. When you get hit by a big attack it will heal you for huge % of health. I played on immortal from the start and found those two talents to be essential. By the end I even switched my bracelet to the blink bracelet for more charges.

With infinite shield resets from 4-5 blink charges and shield heals for emergencies you basically can't die. Then just stack sigil damage and mostly ignore your fury magic because those require you to drop your shield to cast them. I used the limpets, lash, and lens situationally but very rarely for that reason too. It's a slow and steady approach but very safe to breeze through immortal, even clearing the fanes for the 6 and the shatterfanes without much difficulty.

Bugged for me as well on NG + Immortal Difficulty. Trying a third run on Grand Magnus Difficulty.

Update: Unlocked itself while being offline. Never saw it pop. Booted up the console to find the game completed but have already started a NG ++ Cycle.

Even doing this as a first playthrough this difficulty is still very easy there’s literally no reason to do this as a second playthrough unless it can’t be helped I died maybe only 5 times and it was due to me being careless or too aggressive or getting stuck on the occasional obstacle

I didn't read the achievement description and started on Grand Mangus difficulty as I didn't realise I could play on Immortal and I dropped it about half way though the game and it still unlocked at the end if anyone else has made that mistake

Choosing the higher difficulty and finishing the game opens all the lower difficulty achievements too, just to keep that in mind. you don't need to collect everything, just need to complete the main story.

Many people write that the game is difficult, I got platinum in 20 hours, in fact the difficulty lies in the fact that the game runs at 20 fps and nothing is visible on the screen, in addition to all this you are given an FOV of about 5, in total it’s trivial to play It’s not pleasant, during the entire game at a high level of difficulty I died at most 5 times, and then only for the reason that I cleared the map and went to trials and additional bosses which it is recommended to clear after completing the story. I advise you to just run through the story, it won’t cause any problems at all, download and use red magic (this way you can somehow hit enemies in this mess of colors), after the end of the story you will be given an achievement, then set the difficulty to the lowest and go clear all the bosses , collect boxes, etc.
