How to unlock the Knockout in the Blackout achievement in InFamous 2 - Definitive Guide

Missable

You’ll know you’ve entered a powered down area when the game notifies you, well, that you’re entering a powered down area on the top of your screen. Your mini-map on the bottom right corner will also produce static. On your map (), you’ll notice that island/areas to your right and the top are grayed out; those are the powered down areas.

Powered Down Areas

Entering these areas, much like the first game, will result in higher enemy encounter rates and be pitted against much stronger enemies, such as enemies behind shielded turrets and militants with mini-guns. It is suggested you go about this trophy once you’ve at least acquired the Ionic Vortex. You have a very limited supply in terms of restoring your energy, so if you're having trouble, come back to this trophy when you've reached at least Hero on your good karma playthrough; the passive ability restores your energy every time your bolts hit an enemy. Bio Leeching your enemies however, works just as fine.

Kill 50 enemies in these areas, and the trophy will unlock. Note that even if you die, your progress will still carry over. Remember, you must kill these 50 enemies when you're not in the middle or a story mission or side mission as the trophy description describes.

Lost areas are gray areas on the map. Go there and kill all the enemies that are there.

I advise you to get this trophy at the beginning of the game so as not to worry later. Kill your enemies without going deep into de-energized areas so that you can quickly return to energy sources. It's easier to kill them from the roofs of houses, because... There are a lot of machine guns and other strong dudes in these areas.

I delayed getting this trophy quite a bit (I had already captured the flooded city), but it didn’t cause any special problems. I destroyed groups of 3-4 enemies, militias and ice monsters, avoiding larger enemies. There were no problems with electricity either - after all, there are always plenty of cars from which you can recharge. As a result, in 15-20 minutes, I took the trophy without ever returning to the illuminated areas (normal difficulty level). The only downside was that at this rate, he wandered into the depths of the de-energized area, and the enemies appeared behind him. But as they say, fast feet, fear nothing.

During this time, you should not have any pending transactions. I lost an hour from not paying attention.

Guys! The easiest way to replenish energy is through vampirism. Restores all energy reserves! Even if you “raise” a good character, vampirism will not ruin your reputation at all; in order for it to change, you need to suck the energy out of the people of the entire island.
And it’s also very important that you don’t finish off your opponents! That is, you didn’t kick them while they were lying down, otherwise how will you suck the life out of them?

At the beginning of the game there is a great place where you can get this trophy without any problems. This is a cemetery. One half of it is located in a de-energized area, and the second has electricity (to replenish spent reserves). There are many enemies on the road near the cemetery and it is easy to kill them by hanging on the wall and using it as cover. There are generally a lot of shelters there, so there shouldn’t be any problems. Just move around the cemetery, along the road and destroy all enemies, and then move in the opposite direction. Be careful with the helicopter, it is better to avoid it. Cemetery monsters are easy and simple to kill with a combination (must have the ability “finishing blows”).

A simple trophy if you get it at the very beginning of the game (3-5% completion). I'll tell you how I went:

1. I ran around the surroundings of the first half of the city and collected fragments so that there was more energy

2. I went through the top into the dark half of the first island. There are a lot of machine gunners sitting there, whom he began to smoke out from behind the guns by throwing cars using “Kinetic Pulse” ( + ). Opponents die pretty quickly. Thanks to this, I received the “ Taking a Life by Wheeled Transport ” and “ Long Pass! ” trophies without any problems. The main thing is not to go too deep so that you can return and recharge.

Attention. If we go a little deeper along the edge, leaving the de-energized city on the right hand, then we will meet a helicopter on the way. We lure him closer to the illuminated city and wait for him to start aiming a laser at us and firing missiles. We aim at the missiles, and when they almost hit us, we hold down and click (explosion ability). We receive the " Return to Sender " trophy

The total time to obtain all 4 trophies is 15 minutes. It can be faster. It all depends on your skill.

I noticed this thing: if you leave the non-electrolyzed zone and enter it again, the enemies will appear again. I did it this way: I supplied electricity to the flooded city and there were about six to nine opponents on the border with the second (de-energized) part of the island, so I ran back and forth and earned a trophy. I will be glad if my tip is useful.
