How to unlock the With Great Power Comes Greater Power achievement in InFamous 2 - Definitive Guide

New powers will be become available to you as you progress through the story, and by going up in your karmic rank. As with the first game, the type of abilities that become available to you will be dependent on your karmic rank. Leaning towards the Hero side and you'll be locked out of the Evil powers, and vice versa.

It is not recommended you mix and match, as in choosing to be a good guy in the beginning, and then deciding to be evil midway. Otherwise, you'll end up having to grind good/bad opportunities to reach max karma rank end game.

In addition, you are not required to purchase all powers on one save file in order to unlock the trophy. You only need to unlock and purchase all powers that are possible on your current save file. For example, if you're focusing on being a good guy on your first playthrough, you'll only need to purchase all the basic abilities and the good karma ones; evil abilities are not required.

Please note that Ionic Storm is required for this trophy, which you get as part of the story near the end of the game.

There's an easy way to grind out XP, specifically on Mission 35. Credits to TigerLust for the following tip:

While playing missions 35, you will be climbing the ice tower. You will now have to turn some valves. Turn the first two, then kill yourself with some grenades.

  1. You will be at the second valve. Run around the corridor to the left, and around the bend. You will see a line of yellow boosting poles, jump on one of the middle poles, land on the next boost pole, then land on the roof.
  2. Run forward a bit and get the two guys to notice you, then back up to where you landed on the roof.
  3. Now spam grenades like mad. The best is cluster grenades, but if you don't have it spam whatever you can. Buy the grenade cluster upgrade as soon as you can. You will get more stunt combos than the game can display at one time! You can get a few hundred XP on hard in under a minute. Simply hit L2 to recharge your energy and your health (assuming you hit it before the screen turns white.). Kill everyone with the grenades. Don't be shy, you can hit the same guy with 5 grenades, and get stunt points for Each and every one.
  4. Do NOT turn the third valve. When all the enemies are dead, commit suicide with grenades. Repeat from step 1.

PS: this is also a great place to work any stunts you need to unlock powers or trophies

If you do not wish to earn your XP legit, you can abuse the following glitch and earn them like so:

It is enough to acquire all the abilities from either the hero or the villain. And if you don’t have enough experience, we go through user episodes.

Don't forget to set the difficulty level to low, more points will drop

As an option - the heroic mission "Parade". We set up ion absorption and suck out lives. The hostages die - the mission is failed. For one such move they give 60+ points. It's boring, but if there are only a few abilities left, it's pretty fast (about 30 seconds while you're running) .

If you don’t have enough experience, then we perform story-based custom missions. For some they gave me 200-300 experience.

The last one I received was “Ion Storm” (according to the plot). At the same time they gave me a trophy.

you need to buy not only from the villain/hero, but also all general abilities. After choosing the second element for skills, opposite skills cannot be purchased. if you start spoiling your karma with ice on your hands, then it’s better to buy all the ice skills, otherwise they will no longer be available for a bad cole, and red skills in principle will not allow you to buy them. and vice versa - for the good cole with oil, ice skills are closed for sale

Find the WICKED 2 mission (10 waves of enemies at the ice tower), gained several thousand experience at a time.

To get a trophy, it’s not enough just to open the abilities of a villain or a good one, you first need to open all the abilities in the *UPGRADES* column

For extra points, look for custom missions by typing the keyword " QUICK XP " through the search. These will usually be missions in which you just need to kill a crowd of rushing enemies.

If you haven’t received the required number of points to acquire all the abilities, and the story campaign has already been completed and side thoughts too, and users don’t want to go through missions and they give little experience. Then you need to do the following: find some kind of custom mission like “kill everyone”, for example, a mission would work well: (where you stand on the roof of a house, and there are opponents in the water below, you need to destroy them and cross the bridge to complete the mission). You can find it by searching in a search engine: XP and similar queries. Well, if you just quickly complete it, you will get 60 experience points. To get a large amount of experience, you just need to leave the mission on for a while, the longer the mission lasts, the more points you will get. I filled myself with the missing experience to get this trophy. In about half an hour of downtime, after completing the mission we get about 300-400 experience points. Any other mission in which you can just stand and no one will touch you is also suitable. And keep in mind that experience in one mission can only be obtained once. So don't include the same custom mission.

When playing as a good one, I gave it after I had unlocked all the abilities with the exception of those that were marked in red.

This trophy, in principle, can be considered the longest of all, but you can quickly earn experience; for this, do not go through the additional stage yet. missions (so that there are at least enemies), look for enemies on the roofs, usually there are three or four of them standing next to each other, and throw them off with gravity, you can gain 90-100 or more experience at a time, points are added through tricks.

Often at the end of the game there are not enough points to purchase all the necessary abilities. The best options for earning extra experience are the NEW user-created levels marked "Kill them all". Just don't break it

I also lacked about 20,000 xp, but it was popularly written above what needs to be done) I will describe a glitch with which I suffered for a long time, maybe someone else was also “lucky”...

After completing the storyline (no matter what), I still had unopened abilities for tricks, I decided to do tricks in user missions, and imagine my surprise when, for example, I need to perform a trick 10 times, I have done it 50 times, but ability is not given.

Solution: find opponents not in missions, but in the city (robberies or just walking by) and perform the same trick on them, once will be enough, sometimes you don’t even have to perform this particular trick, I accidentally did another one and two abilities opened up at once , for this trick and for the one that was not counted earlier.

I wouldn’t say that the trophy is difficult, as long as you open trophies for the bad and evil endings, you can get it. First, we go through the game as you like, it is advisable not to complete additional quests (otherwise there are a lot of them and it’s not so fun to play them a second time). In the second playthrough, we completely go through the game with a different ending and all (although not necessary. I have 2-3 pieces left) additional quests. After the credits they will tell you that you are great and give you 15,000 experience. Before I beat the game, I was only 5000 short of one skill for the villain.
In short, don’t worry too much, I ran through the game quickly the second time. I practically didn’t collect any fragments, completed all the additional quests, played on easy and after the credits just bought the necessary abilities

For me, this was the most difficult (or rather, long) trophy. I completed the game on the hard difficulty level, completed all the additional missions, but didn’t have enough experience (I needed another 15,000). With the release of the patch, all ways to gain experience in the shortest possible time were closed. I had to go through user missions. I was only looking for puzzles and mini-games. For one game they gave from 50 to 300 experience (if you destroy enemies, etc.), it took quite a long time to level up. If you don’t have the “Innovator”, “Veteran”, “Curious” trophies, you can easily get them during the passage.

Maybe someone will find this method of accumulating points useful, with which I quickly scored several thousand. You need an additional mission "In the name of science" (the first island, to the right of the cemetery). There you need to lure monsters into the park and kill them. So, to farm experience, you need to hammer monsters in the cemetery, collecting them in one heap, spamming them with a regular alpha explosion (L1+X). The main thing is that the blow hits several enemies at once, then they will give a Mega Explosion bonus +25 XP, more than a dozen of these bonuses can be accumulated, together with other bonuses.

As a result, you can easily gain 400-500 XP in 30-40 seconds. As soon as you kill all the monsters, the mission fails (since monsters need to be killed in the park, not in the cemetery), but all the experience is saved and you can again immediately repeat the procedure without loading or other delays.

Note: I achieved experience by switching to easy difficulty level, after completing it completely on high, and I also had all the fragments collected (that is, I had a full charge bar).

So, first, we go through the game for the evil and the good, then we follow the instructions!
inFamous 2: Infinite experience, XPIn order to have infinite experience, you need to press the START button and select User Materials / Create a new operation (we can not create anything). Then click - Perform current operation, go to abilities and buy what you need, BUT YOU MUST have as much/more experience to buy the ability. You will see that the experience does not end. If you bought what you need, go to the menu, Edit current. operations. We exit the editor (you can save it, you can not) and that’s it.
