How to unlock the 20 Overs Super League Champion achievement in International Cricket 2010 - Definitive Guide

In order to win the Super League you must play 16 games. 14 in the group stage, a semi final and the final.

There are a few techiniques that will speed your progress towards this, as simulating a game will result in the achievement not unlocking.

1. Pick the right team and location. I found that Thunder was the right team, especially if you set the League to happen in Pakistan/Sri Lanka. This is because Thunder has 3 useful spinners (ignore what the stats say, these guys will take wickets).

2. Set the pitch conditions to day 3, as this will add extra wear which will help the spinners, but won't be so crapped out that there is nothing left for the seamers.

3. For games that you are attempting to win (more on this shortly) make sure that you bowl first, as you should be able to get the opposition out in about 10 overs, therefore saving yourself the effort of playing a full 20 overs each.

4. Use your spinners (Sinha, Jayesuurea & Tenhukkar) to dismiss the opposition quickly. Mix up the deliveries both the type, speed and spin and catches should come. Whilst Tenhukkar doesn't spin the ball much, he has a wicked slider which is very effective (if not over used). If a partnership is moving along nicely for the opposition, bring on Mangala and bowl some bouncers and yorkers to break this up.

Always have a slip in place, as loads of catches go that way. When the fielding restrictions are in place, I found that having the 2 men allowed outside the circle at deep mid wicket and deep cover saved a lot of boundaries. Don't be afraid to bowl deliveries with the speed in the orange band, I picked up a lot of wickets with these really slow spinning balls.

And when batting take advantage of the fielding restrictions to use the lofted shot almost exclusively during the first 5 overs.

5. To qualify from the group stage you need to finish in the top 4. Once you are clear of the 5th place team you can bat first and just run out all of your batsmen and then let the opposition go quickly past your total. This can reduce a 20 over each match to about 5 overs total. Just make sure you finish in the top 4. I managed to throw 6 of the 14 games in the group phase, whilst still qualifying.

This will still take about 4-6 hours to complete.

Good solution, but it should also be noted that you can edit the oppositions team and remove all good batsmen before starting the match. Takes around 1 minute to do so and you'll be able to bowl them out consistantly between 5 - 7 overs.

There is no way to reduce this and has to be played as 20 overs, and you have to play 16 matches to win. 14 in the league, 1 semi-final and the final.

But make sure you let the CPU bat first so the quicker you bowl them out the less runs you need to win rather than you batting forever n then trying to bowl them out.
if you lose toss or if they dont choice to bat just restart game and do it until you get bowling

My solution is identical to Mr J1m's except with one exception: there is no need to allow yourself to lose. It is pretty simple to get a score of about 60 in 2 overs, which is all that is required with the spin bowlers taking the wickets for you. The average you get your opponent out for using these bowlers is mid-30's. Get your 60 or so and then continually hit the ball to a nearby fielder and run, in order to be run out. Then when the other team bats, you should have them out in about 6 or 7 overs at most. There is not a lot of difference in time between the two methods; but if you're the type of person that uses this site, then you're the type of person who would rather not lose a match.

This grinding trophy consists of 14 league matches, then a semi-final and final. For league matches, you only have to finish in the top four, so to help speed things up at certain points you can throw your match away. Select yourself to bat and just throw all your wickets away, then simply give your opponents all the runs they need from poor deliveries or no balls. The match will be over in no time, just ensure you win enough to finish in the top 4.
