How to unlock the Walking On Air achievement in Journey to the Savage Planet - Definitive Guide
Not my guide, I used this video from DDHGaming on youtube.

You seem to have an extra second or so right after you go through the rings, so what helped me was making sure when I went through the harder rings I was already on my way boosting upwards. Also try and hit as close to the top of the ring as possible, you do not have to fly through the middle.

The location shown in the video is perfect for this achievement but I found it easier to do this in the opposite direction, starting at the Ravine of Supreme Agony teleporter. Just make sure that as you go through each ring, you have your camera turned to line up the next one.

I had lots of difficulty getting this achievement but have a great tip for those who also have had trouble. Go into your Controller Settings on the dashboard and remap the A (Jump) button to a trigger button (I used RB). This way makes it a lot easier to control the direction you are looking and movement with right thumbstick while jumping.
This is what a gas ring looks like:
There are 3 places where this can be done:
Xipyar's Fathomless Cenote
Kronus' Dominion
Gorgeous Gork's Gorge
Of these 3, Kronus' Dominion is the safest and easiest place to get this done but the gas rings (listed as "Fuel Vapor" in the Kindrex) will only appear during the story whilst you're fighting Kronus during the Lava phases of the battle. Gorgeous Gork's Gorge is the second best place to do this but is still very fiddly.
This is a tricky trophy because the flight controls aren't great and the low FoV (Field of View) makes it hard to see where you're going but the key to success is pulsing your Jetpack by holding for a second or two whilst flying and holding up on the , then letting go of - rinse and repeat until you have flown through all 12 rings without touching the ground. You will know when you're under the influence of a gas ring when purple flames appear around the edge of your screen and your fuel gauge turns purple. Each ring will refill your fuel gauge but your fuel will deplete really quickly so don't keep held for more than a second or two, else you run the risk of a messy death.
