To escape from a human shield you will have to button mash the appropriate button(displayed on screen) for about 2-3 seconds, the problem is that most people online wont hold you for that long. So what i did and i recommend others do is have your friend search for fragile alliance at the same time as you, once you get in the match wait until everyone else has made it into the getaway van/chopper and boost away. This would also be a good time to boost the Unfinished Business achievement for Killing a yellow carded criminal whilst Down Not Dead (Arcade Mode and Multiplayer Ranked Match).
