When a new enemy (or other useful bits of gameplay information) is introduced, a small, blue icon with a shield or sword in the middle and the word "TIP" above and an exclamation point, will appear in the top left corner under the health and money bar. Press the
button to bring up the information card. Do this 5x to unlock the achievement. This can be done in the first 3 to 4 missions.
Be sure to pay attention as sometimes there's a lot going on and it will go unnoticed.
