God damn.. the shardfall quest is bugged for me. The apprentice does not appear. Even after reloading a dozen of times.

Apparently that's a known bug and the only way to get around it is to load an earlier save and work back to that point.

I highly recommend you save before completing the final quest before the acheevo unlocks
Beat the final boss, completed the quest- no acheevo
Thank heavens I had a save just before for an unrelated quest
Reloaded my save, beat the final boss, acheevo unlocked
