How to unlock the You're the Best achievement in LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - Definitive Guide

Here's a link to a guide I made. It has the location of every collectible in the game - including Red Bricks, Gold Bricks, Students In Peril, Crest Pieces, and Characters.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24...

A majority of the 100% involves getting Gold Bricks, since there's a few different things you need to get them all. Make sure you actually buy all the characters and Red Brick extras (characters are in the 1st Diagon Alley shop, Red Bricks are upstairs in the 2nd shop). I believe you also have to buy all the extra spells in the 3rd Diagon Alley shop, and make sure you actually beat the 200 Gold Brick bonus level (the one you get Voldemort in).

Lastly, sometimes the achievement takes a while to pop - I ran around a bit before it showed up. Like in other Lego games, you may need to go replay a level and it will unlock after you beat it.

**Please leave a comment/message me if you vote negative or see an error, I'll try to help :)**

if it's your guide, why not just repost it? :)

Because it's a fairly large guide. Plus I made it colour-coded, which I can't do here.

what happens if you play local co-op, do I have to do the entire thing again?

@LeiChat: If you only care about your first profile getting the achievements, then no. But I've heard of some two-player related glitches, so you might have to do it twice anyways.

You mean on the GameFAQs version? There's accidentally no spaces in between them and the preceding items, but they are there. Try the version on x360a, it's colour coded so they're easier to spot.

Chances are she hasn't bought everything - check the stores and make sure to buy every red parcel extra, character, etc.

Excellent guide, couldn't have got 100% without it. The glitches guide is really useful, as the game glitched on me several times, but thankfully not so if affected my final percentage! Thanks!!

^ There's nothing inherently missable, you can go back and complete levels and explore Hogwarts whenever. The game does have some glitches that are outlined in my guide, but there was a recent update that supposedly fixed some of these so I'm unsure whether they're still a problem. I might look over the guide for these glitches collectibles just in case, but hopefully you'll be fine.

you should add which characters are "Dark Magic" characters, just a little user feed back, because i thought karkaroff was a death eater, and the shifty wizard is... well, shifty lol but those are the only 2 i have right now that should be dark but arent

playing collection Xbox one version on Xbox series x, all year 1-4 achievements done and it's 1020/2000
searched for the difference and it's extra 20 points (it's 90 points now)
do a little math and 1020
means year 5-7 only have 980 points

Yo yo going to start this game this week when it arrives in the post, I was just wondering if there is anything I can miss on the 100% Because my girlfriend will want to play and she not the best at listening to me when I'm telling her to do things on the xbox so I wouldn't mind knowing I can leave her alone on it and not have to worry she going to miss anything. Any info will be appreciated thanks

RadiantViper's Collection Guide is great. I highly recommend starting there.

I was stuck on 49/50 students and thought I was glitched. I assumed that the student I was missing had been credited to my son's account when he had been playing on the second player in co-op. I was about to delete my save and start over when I found a glitch that recovered my missing student in peril and a gold brick. This is worth a try before replaying the entire game....

Go to the clocktower. Use the time turner to turn back time. Exit to the leaky cauldron. Go back to Hogwarts. You will be taken back to the clock tower. At this point my missing studen in peril showed up. When I returned to the leaky cauldron, my gold brick count had increased also.

I can confirm that two other people have had reported luck with this. This game is glitchy so it may help you, but it may not.

I had the same problem of not finding my last student in peril, and before reading this, I went about looking for a way to retrace my steps. I think the time-turner in general may be the glitch, because mine showed up when I went back to the Gryffindor common room and used the time-turner there.

Getting 100% is purely about game progress and collecting the items & tokens in the game:
* Finishing all the levels with all the crests, students in peril, character tokens and true wizard in each level.
* Exploring Hogwarts to find the rest of the character tokens, students in peril and most importantly, the gold bricks.
* Complete the bonus levels in the bank vault of Diagon Alley.
* Finish the Voldemort bonus level in Knockturn Alley (all 200 gold bricks required!).

What you don't need to worry about:
* Killing X number of Y (with Z).
* Doing X with character Y.

Here is the achievement checklist.

100% completion shouldn't be affected by playing local co-op with only the main profile signed in should it?

As far as I know having a second player is never detrimental.

Something i found while playing through. Was the libary glitch that affects a lot of people in the first libary, where the age line is. If the gliitch has affected you try using a polyjuice potion and turning into barty crouch (senior) This allowed me to walk straight across the age line. Just remember to have a dark magic user with you when you go into the next libary or you will be hit with the next glitch!

*GLITCH WARNING - See 'The Bonus Level is Yours' for more details*
This is the big one. You need to do pretty much everything to get this:

  • Complete every level
  • All 200 Gold Bricks (See 'The Bonus Level is Yours' for more details)
  • All 20 red bricks (can use cheats)
  • All characters found and bought from Madam Malkin's Robes
  • All bonus levels and tutorials in Gringotts
  • The bonus level situated in Borgin and Burkes awarded for getting all gold bricks
  • Purchase all spells from 'Wiseacres Wizarding Equipment'

Once all of this is done the trophy will pop. Please note that it may have a delay of up to a minute before popping.
