Lost Planet 2

Episode 4 is mostly soldier and VS-based, but has some Akrid. With five chapters, Episode 4 is the longest of the chapters. There are two bosses, Tencale 8 (4-3) and Vital Fortress (4-5).

Episode Boss – Vital Fortress
Vital Fortress is the huge experimental weapon first seen in the 2-1 cutscene. The battle takes place entirely underwater, on a pillar-like structure, with Vital Fortress circling around. As Vital Fortress circles you, it will shoot torpedoes at you, which although are homing, can still easily be destroyed or avoided. Vital Fortress will also shoot Interdiction Torpedo, which is more or less a stun torpedo, its effect similar to that of the Ice Breath of Queen Gorechryatis in 1-2. Another attack of Vital Fortress’s is releasing a group of mines, but they simply flow in a straight line, which are easily avoidable. The best way to defeating Vital Fortress is utilising the many VS weapons scattered around the complex, as well as using the GAN-3AM Triseed, which can be found directly underneath the control post that is required to activate to fight the Vital Fortress. The Triseed has two flying modes, one of which has an infinite supply of torpedoes, which is very useful against Vital Fortress. Simply barrage Vital Fortress with the Triseed and the many powerful weapons available to you, and always keep an eye out for mines, torpedoes and Interdiction Torpedoes.
