Select Single Player
Select Checkpoint Race
Select 50cc race
Select the driver you are most comfortable with... for me it was Marty...
If you are comfortable on Plane Wreck... select it.
Note... The only goal is to run into hour glasses... so you must constantly reposition yourself to hit them... There is no need to aim for the boost arrows if you are only going for the Checkpoint Beginner Achievement... If you miss one... KEEP GOING. You can miss several of these and still have plenty of time.
Once you get the achievement though... KEEP GOING!!! I continued with the race and inadvertantly picked up Checkpoint Driver for picking up 25 hourglasses. There is one more Checkpoint mastery which is Checkpoint Master. This one will require more planning as time ran out on me around 35 the first time I raced.
Select Checkpoint Race
Select 50cc race
