How to unlock the Multiplayer Checkpoint Master achievement in Madagascar Kartz - Definitive Guide

If your other person isn't that adept at video games and tends to go the wrong way or crash into walls (I had to ask my mother to help me get this...you should have seen the look on her face.), here's what you do.

-Pick 50cc
-Have your other person pick B.O.B. His easy to control turning and somewhat slow speed makes him the easiest character to use for this.
-Pick Shark Beach. It is wide enough to where the hourglasses are easy to see way before you get to them and the other player will have to be able to fall off into the water. Your other player won't have a hard time because of BOB's easy control.

My lovely mother and I were able to get this achievement on our first try after switching to this.

Both players must get 40 hour glasses EACH, you CAN NOT just plug in a controller and have P1 get 40 without P2 getting 40, its not hard at all so as long as you have a buddy this shouldn't be a problem.

source: I collected 47 while my girlfriend collected 30, twice, no achievement popped.

I collected 47 again, and the achievement popped the moment my girlfriend got 40.

Edit: Thanks to Legend MDD DK 1 for noting that with a turbo controller, this can be done with only one person. I do not own a turbo controller so I am not sure how to go about doing that.

Than I will add that to the solution, without a turbo controller though, you need two players.

I'm still skeptical of it myself, I don't have a turbo controller though so I can't say so positively for myself.

Just a warning about this achievement and the other hourglass ones - you must have another player to help you with them. Trying to do them on your own with two controllers is impossible. I've tried.

I don't see how that's possible unless you have four hands, there are separate timers for each player, that if you don't collect an hourglass, it will run out, and the starting time isn't that long. You might be thinking of "Checkpoint Master" which is SP... this can NOT be done with only one person.

I just got the achievement solo using most of breadd's strategy from xboxachievements: https://www.xboxachievements.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4723...

I used shark beach and 50cc instead of his pick, but I did use 2 controllers with rubber bands and the chimps. It took me some hours over the course of 2 days (I would get frustrated and give up). Even on the winning one, I was falling apart down the stretch and just switched to using one controller to get the last 2 red hourglasses with 10 seconds left. What i did was had the “blue” controller in my left hand (top side of screen) and the “red” controller in my right hand (bottom side of screen). Like breadd said, learn the map and hourglass layout (I picked 50cc shark beach because I knew it best). The stagger he mentioned is very important for giving you a little time to line up each kart with the next hourglass. My mind would always start going blank and I would confuse with kart was collecting which color, but once I Finally got 40 with one controller, I could start consistently getting into the 30s with both and on my final run, I was in the high 30s with 23 seconds left and I still almost messed up before I just focused on one controller to get the final red hourglasses. I am just posting to say it is possible solo, but very very frustrating and I agree with those that say to have another person ready to help you before starting this game.

This is impossible with one person and two controllers, however it is incredibly simple with two people. I got my girlfriend to help me and it only took two attempts and she is definitely not a gamer. Ha.

On the first attempt she got 36 hourglasses.

I did it on NYC Zoo, I found that track most simple, just do whatever is good for you.

I used Shrek, I used the chimps for my other half as they have the best grip, so is best for novice gamers.

Just make sure you don't miss any of your own hourglasses just to take the pressure off!

Basically the same requirements for the "Checkpoint Master" trophy, but now it is multiplayer. You must have a decent second player to play with you. You need to collect 40 hourglasses EACH for the master trophy.
