How to unlock the I'm Goin' In! achievement in Mafia III: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

I'll try to explain this achievement because the game doesn't exactly explain rackets-attack and enforcers-killing very well.

Some time into the game, you'll start getting missions to attack rackets. These rackets usually take the form of illegal businesses like prostitution, contraband, union extortion, etc. To initiate an attack, you'd first need to speak to a contact. Once this is done, several icons will appear on the map. These icons are the locations of the various establishments forming the rackets.

To attack a racket, your task is to cause enough damage to these establishments, until the racket boss appears in the main warehouse. The damage required differs from racket to racket. It usually ranges between $20,000 to $30,000 per racket during the earlier missions, but may go as high as $100,000 later. To "damage" a racket, you'd need to go to the locations where the icons are, and start wrecking havoc. Again, the tasks you need to do varies from racket to racket. You could hurt them by stealing money, helping prostitutes escape, stealing medical supplies, destroying contraband items, and killing enforcers.

To unlock this achievement, you'd need to ensure that in the process of dealing damage to a racket, you never, ever kill an enforcer. These enforcers are easy to spot - their locations appear on the map as some sort of a skull/ alien icon. To be safe, I'd suggest never even approaching these locations at all. Focus on dealing damages at other icons instead - there's definitely enough things to do to deal sufficient damage to force the boss out without killing the enforcers. You can kill all other enemies, just make sure you don't kill these dudes. They also have the word "KILL" above their heads to make it easier for you to spot them.

Note: Always use the cn_back button to use "instinct", Hitman-style, to spot the locations of enemies during fights. This makes things so much easier. Instinct also usually points you to your objectives, show the locations of medical/ weapon cabinets (so that you can refill), locations of money to steal, etc.

Once you deal enough damage to a racket, i.e., reduce the required amount to $0, the racket boss will appear in their HQ. Go talk to your contact to launch a final attack on the racket. Select cn_A to accept that all undone missions in this racket will be forfeited forever, and the achievement will unlock. Yes, you don't even need to take on the boss. The achievement will unlock before you head to the boss fight.

PS: Do note though that enforcers that are not killed during the earlier attacks will appear at the HQ to make the boss fight somewhat harder. Also, it'd be better to try to get this achievement done in the earlier rackets, because the later ones are much harder to do. One later mission has as many as eight enforcers - you won't want to spare them before going to the racket boss.

First instance this can be done was "Smack" mission. Game tells you to kill Charlie's enforcers. I was curious and went to both missions. killed all the enemies except the enforcers. Lured enforcers out so I can loot all cash, and destroy objectives. In the end, I was able to get enough to progress to the racket boss. Achievement popped after speaking to Donovan.

This achievement is pretty easy once you've understood it. There are lots of opportunites to get this achievement. I personally got it while conquering Tickfaw Harbor.

An enforcer a has skull symbol on it. So do not complete these missions when conquering a district. Complete all of the other missions to get the required amount of damage.

Once you have caused enough damage talk to your contact and the achievement will unlock when you're finished speaking to him/her.

Hope this helped.

After the initial 3 districts you have to take control of, the game opens up a bit. During this time there are rackets that do not have enforcers (such as the Garbage racket in Barclay Mills). When I chose to go after the boss for the Garbage racket, the achievement popped for me. Getting this through this natural progression allows you to continue to complete all the racket missions to increase your "take" on each racket before taking it over.

NOTE: As noted by other users in the comments, this may occur with other rackets and not necessarily the Garbage racket in Barclay Mills. Either way, the natural progression should work at some point in the story.

I'm not going to down vote, but I STRONGLY believe you got the two rackets in Barclay Mills mixed up....... I am going through the Guns racket right now, and there are NO enforcers at all!!!! When I hover over the Garbage "hideout", it says 0/8 enforcers killed......just a friendly heads up!!!!

Agreed, good solution but I suspect you mean Guns not Garbage as there are 8 of these sods!

@Warboy925 and @BertieHoth I am pretty certain it was the Garbage racket for me. I wonder if they changed it since I got it or it randomizes those from game to game. I'll make a note in the solution to account for this.

Well, I'm thinking of doing another playthrough just for fun, and I'll double check (actually triple check) because I am sure it was the same way my second playthrough as well.........

I've just completed the Guns racket without any enforcers and this hasn't popped. Perhaps it needs to be a racket WITH enforcers but you just ignore them for this to work?

If it did count, that is one hell of a glitch!! Try doing ONE racket at one time without messing with any enforcer missions and see if that works......good luck!!!!

I suspect they've patched this at some point, I didn't get this pop when completing a racket that had no enforcers at all, only when I did one that had enforcers and I left them alive.

Thats actually how I got it, I was doing one of Burke's rackets without doing any of the enforcer "missions", just the damage ones, talked to Nikki and it popped

Will just try another one, Burke or Vito probably, without attacking Enforcers, and see how it goes. The only reason I can think this didn't pop was that I did kill an enforcer BUT it was one of the ones from the Garbage racket, who turned up in a car and attacked ME while I was attempting a Guns mission elsewhere. That shouldn't count should it?

Did this on the second underboss you start working with, Vito. For the extortion racket, you have the option to burn down 3 trailers and then tail a car to a stash house, do those and its enough to force the racket boss out.

There are 2-3 enforces you can go after as well, simply ignore them and start the objective to take down the racket boss, trophy will pop right after.

Just to add to the above:

This achievement only applies to 1 racket within the district and not the entire district.

EG, Racket Missions within the district will appear as BLUE OR GREEN , when you hover over them. So if one Skull on the map is Green and the other blue that indicates two rackets within the district. You would only need to avoid the enforcers for one of those colours

Unlike Softened 'Em Up, for this trophy, you will want to go after and kill a racket boss without having killed any of their enforcers first.

You should just focus on all the other ways you can accumulate damage on the racket so that you don't need the enforcers. Some rackets only have one enforcer, so it won't be a problem to find one you can ignore.

Note: If you don't kill the enforcers before attacking the boss, they will be in the boss's location and you will probably have to kill them to get to the boss. This does not invalidate the trophy - you only miss out if you attack them in their spot on the map before the boss's mission.
