This has nothing to do with the actual achievement but: Allgorhythm suggested that you have Lincoln walk around before going to Aunt Lily to initiate the toast to Sammy. There are a number of people Lincoln can talk to. They are only available once you get the task to toast Sammy and before you do the toast. These little vignettes add to the poignancy of the moment and make this, in his opinion, the best achievement of the game.

So cheers everyone!!!!!! toast toast toast

Spot on, but total is $191,000 not $186,000 ;)

Thank god I didn't spend any money after running through my second playthrough, otherwise I'd be ripping my hair out lol.

Dude, I had over $700k when I started this DLC, my average crop was around $67K, yeah, the Faster Baby DLC brings in INSANE cash flow!!

ok, something is off, I wrote everything down unless my game glitched and gave me the cheevo too early and locked me out of some upgrades.....I added what I posted 4 times and still came up with 186k.......after I grind the rest of my "Pop Pop" cheevo, I will go back to the bar and check bc seriously, I felt I got the cheevo early for some reason....I'm missing a 5k upgrade some where......thanks for the heads up Canada, and for not downvoting me...

This was a super grind for me; for the Faster Baby DLC I had to restart for the proximity mines achievement because in my final completionist playthrough for siding with 1 underboos I sided with Vito and it glitched out the arms trucked after
. Replayed to the end of the first 3 districts to play DLC 2, which required little to no cash, so I only had $100k going into this. Had to grind rackets for 3-4 hours. Got there in the end, though.

Thumbs up. I would recommend that you have Lincoln walk around before going to Aunt Lily to initiate the toast to Sammy. There are a number of people Lincoln can talk to. They are only available once you get the task to toast Sammy and before you do the toast. These little vignettes add to the poignancy of the moment and make this, IMHO, the best achievement of the game.

I think this achievement is bugged.

I can't get the "our new bartender" to pop up, and I've fully upgraded Sammy's except for the bartender.. for obvious reasons. I've got money coming out of the wazoo and have finished the other 2 DLCs entirely. On my playthrough I'm currently up to going after the capos (Uncle Lou etc) and still haven't seen the mission "Our New Bartender" pop up, my objective still says "continue renovating". Any ideas or solutions ? I've tried deleting local save data and haven't had any luck. I'm going to try finishing the story, if not I think I'll have to start over..

Try talking to a guy in a yellow/tan (plaid?) suit by the bar, that should be Reggie......

No good. I've youtubed what Reggie looks like and where he shows up, and it's not working at all. This achievement is definitely missable and bugged

Spending money on upgrading the bar also counts towards the "Hole in Your Pocket" achievement :)

Try mixing seeds, and DO NOT use fertilizer because it lowers the cost of the batch....it does take some time, I won't lie....

If you've already beat the game, there are two ways to make the necessary money:

1) If you don't have the Faster, Baby! DLC, you'll have to rely on racket cuts generated by your lieutenants, (which should be maximized from supply missions,) which generates roughly every twenty minutes after the last pick-up. You can supplement this with cash earned from races, which can be done while waiting for your income to renew.

2) If you do have the Faster, Baby! DLC, you can bring in further cash through crop sales in the Herbalism minigame. Completing M.J.'s missions allows you access to more lucrative strains of weed, while hybridization will allow you to make truly significant sums of money.

Between these options, you should have more than enough to fully renovate in a very short period of time.

Story related, cannot be missed.

You will need to spend a lot of money to get this trophy, as you need to purchase every single upgrade for Sammy's Bar to earn it. There are 21 upgrades to buy but some are locked until you have done either a side mission or unlocked another upgrade prior (For example: you cannot buy the Bartender upgrade until you have purchased the Bar Lvl 2 upgrade, etc.). Barkeep after your first upgrade and Amateur Bouncer after your 5th upgrade. You will also unlock side missions at 10 and 15 upgrades; Our New Bartender for 10 upgrades and Lil Ernie for 15 upgrades. These missions allow you to purchase the final Bartender/Music upgrades respectively.

Here are all the upgrades you need to buy:

  • Repairs:
    1. $20,000
    2. $35,000
  • Bar:
    1. $5,000
    2. $10,000
  • Centerpiece:
    1. $5,000
  • Music:
    1. $3,000
    2. $10,000
  • Kitchen:
    1. $5,000
    2. $9,000
  • Basement:
    1. $10,000
  • Staff:
    1. $7,000
  • Bartender:
    1. $5,000
  • Bouncer:
    1. $3,000
    2. $5,000
  • Mural:
    1. $3,000
    2. $7,000
  • Upstairs:
    1. $10,000
  • Billiards:
    1. $7,000
    2. $10,000
  • Office:
    1. $7,000
    2. $10,000

Once you have bought all 21 upgrades, you will talk with Lily and host a party. Watch the cutscene and the trophy will pop soon afterwards.
