This is now an unobtainable ach and could only be obtained during the 2010 MLB regular season or the 2010 playoffs, so if you pick this game up anytime in 2011 or afterwards you will not be able to unlock this, sorry.

Right when you start up your MLB 2K10 video game, you come to the main menu and press START. Then, it brings up a window that shows different games that are being played today. Play one of those and when you finish the game the achievement will unlock.

*UPDATE*

This is now unattainable, for there is a new MLB game released and 2010 games are not playable.

didn't work for me.. i just did it and it didn't give me the achievement in fact this is twice I have done it and no luck

still have had no luck with it.. i keep doing it with no luck.. i go to the MLB today game.. i have even started the game when the actual game plays and it still won't work..

I had the some problem happen to me. I completed the game but the achievement didn't lock. I then went into settings just to make some changes and the achievement unlocked. The game performed an automatic save when I opened the Settings option. So you may need to save after the game for it to unlock.

i did what you said and it still won't work.. starting to piss me off.. I also did another one that was in the guide here with 3 in a row max strikeouts and it didn't give me the achievement either.. about ready to contact the company and say something about this

Finally got this.. had to play as pro on both away team and your team.. and then go to save settings when the game was done..

Do u have to do this while an actual MLB Regular Season is going on or can it be done anytime.

I dont have the 'chievo, so I can't say for certain, but I did some research and discovered that the people who are listed as the First Winners of this achievement all got theirs between 2 March and 6 March, 2010. Perhaps last season when the game was new, the servers allowed Pre-season games to count. If nothing else, the 2011 season starts in a week, so hopefully those of us who came to the party late wont be left out in the cold.

All signs point to this being unachievable already! Yahoo, 2k games is on my list of never purchase a game from developers.
