How to unlock the One Man Show achievement in Major League Baseball 2K10 - Definitive Guide

I found the easiest way to get this was the Pick-off method. Pick a team to modify, I went with the Orioles because they aren't very good anyway and to save me time. Go through each individual and Increase their stealing tendency(This is under the tendencies page of the Edit Player screen) and aggressiveness attribute(This is under the base-running attributes page of the Edit Player screen).

Then on the Base-running attributes page you will decrease the acceleration and the speed attributes. I also found that the smaller the individual, the harder he was to pick off, so do not make anyone the smallest size. Now go to the team you will be using and the pitcher of choice and Increase their pickoff attribute.

Now the fun begins, once the game starts, either walk the batter on 4 pitches or bean the batter. I enjoyed beaning them to see the dfferent reactions and my pitcher did not get ejected, so have no fear of that.Once you put a runner on, hold the left trigger and push the button corresponding to the base. Second base is much easier to pick someone off but in the occasion you fail to pick someone off after three attempts, move them to third. They may be easier there. I also beaned in a run so if a run scores it is ok, as long as nobody gets a hit.

You can do it online with someone else and just have them not swing but in the instance you don't have anyone around, this method works great.

This works while playing a Ranked game. If you can have somebody boost with you this is what we did. I was the Yankees so he could get the achievement for beating the Yankees in a ranked game. I walked a runner and let him score in the 9th and other than that we just struck each other out and it gave us both the achievement.

This also works when you create an online league. If you have a friend to join your online league you can obtain all game related achievements as well. If you need somebody to join your league send me the name of the league and the password if it is private. I will join as long as I have the game, I frequently get it from Blockbuster b/c I have the Blockbuster Pass.

If your not satisfied with this solution leave a comment and I'll try and help.

I don't believe it is. What you can do though is create an account and you automatically get one month free of Xbox Live and have your friend do the same as well if you don't have two accounts and then create a private league and have all 4 profiles join and then you can sim games or even play them to get this achieve.

So I just got this achievement today and here is how I did it. I went to the Pittsburgh pirates and made ALL of their hitters as low as they could, 25 contact, power, eye, speed, potential, clutch, everything except for fielding. I also made their "Outs by Strikeouts" all the way to 100 and groundouts at 0. Then I went to the Cubs (my favorite team) and created a pitcher with really high stats and all pitches with maximum control and movement. His pitches were: Fastball (102 mph), all the other pitches were default speed with max movement and control. The other pitches were Knuckle-Curve, Eephus, Screwball, and Palmball. Pretty much, I used the Eephus and Fastball more than the other pitches. With the Eephus, I aimed it ALL THE WAY above the batter as high as I could, and threw it with Max and it would end up a strike. More often than not, he would look at it, or just swing and miss.

Obviously this achievement takes a little bit of luck, and I had some nice catches by my infielders, but if you change the controls to where you just hit a button to do the pitch, then it should be easy to get MAX everytime. Good luck with the achievement everyone.

Note: When I maxed out all my stats with Carlos Zambrano, they would seem to always get a dinky hit no matter what I pitched. So maybe creating a player is better than using a real pitcher.

If anyone else has any tips, feel free to comment on this. Good luck!

I spent 20 minutes writing this so I hope it helps someone out! In the 25,000 achievement points that I’ve gotten so far this “One Man Show” achievement has been the single most annoying one I’ve obtained in recent memory: earning it online seemed to be hard because most people would quit the game midway through if they were losing (never mind being no-hit), by all accounts there does not seem to be an easy way to glitch it (e.g. plugging in two controllers and using one as a dummy) and since I do not have any friends with Xbox Live who own MLB 2K10 I could not boost it…but, after doing more research than I care to admit I FINALLY found a fool-proof way to get this 80G achievement in about 50 minutes. I promise you if you take a few minutes to read this you’ll have this achievement in no time:
--
Part 1A: Pre-Game Opponent (10 minutes)
From the main menu go into “Management” followed by” Rosters” then click the left joystick down to change levels to AA. From here choose any team (I chose the Trenton Thunder) and edit all of their batters to have the following stats: Tendencies>Stealing=100 and Baserunning>Speed=0, Aggressiveness=100, Awareness=0 and Acceleration=0. This will ensure the opposing team will take large leads, but lack the speed and awareness to get back in time.

Part2A: Pre-Game User Team (5 minutes)
Stay in the same “Roster” menu, but page over to an American League team – you will be using them as the home team (I chose the Portland Sea Dogs). Edit one pitcher to have the following stats: Fielding>Arm Strength=100, Throwing Accuracy=100 and Pitching>Composure=100, Pickoff=100. Next edit the starting second baseman and shortstop to have the following stats: Fielding>Glove=100, Fielding Range=100, Anticipation=100. This will ensure the fielder manning second base during a pickoff attempt will be as good as possible.
--
Part 2: The Game (35 minutes)
*Almost everything I’ve written until now is posted in the Achievement Guide on this website, but it is this part I found the most helpful…
Start up a quick game with your two teams (as I said, my home team was the Portland Sea Dogs and my opponent was the Trenton Thunder). When the game is loading make sure you choose the pitcher you edited. Once the game starts here is what to do each inning you are pitching: 1)intentionally walk two batters back-to-back by clicking the right joystick in 2)with a runner on second base attempt a pick-off move once he has reached his maximum lead 3)if you do not pick off the runner, try a total of three times and then walk another batter – sending the runner on second to third 4)spin the camera around to face second and repeat step #2 again. Note: a runner from third may score with too many walks, but that doesn’t matter in the hunt for this achievement. 4)Optional: When you have two outs in the inning and a runner on second base, call a mound-meeting and replenish your pitcher’s composure since I’ve noticed a low/rattled composure seems to affect the pick-off attempts.

Part 3: 80G!

I’d like to give credit to xbox360achievements.org for the idea of “27 pick-offs” and to trueachievements.com for the idea of” beefing up AA players” … Good luck!
