How to unlock the Production achievement in Major League Baseball 2K10 - Definitive Guide

Production and Domination (As well as the bat and ball avatar award):

Please read the whole post and understand exactly what I am describing before you leave feedback.

Stats when I started for reference: 35 RBI’s, 55 k’s, 13 HR

In order to get these two achievements and the props I used 2 controllers.

The achievements WILL NOT unlock while using the controllers…KEEP THIS IN MIND. Start a Play Ball 9 inning game with Your profile as the home team and the other controller as the away team.

Here are the stats you want for this game: (assuming you are starting from 0, adjust accordingly)

-I suggest you score 25 runs and 15 homeruns in one inning. Do this by bunting, the other user controlled team will hold the ball and you can get an inside the park homerun. They count as a homerun, check the gamestats. After you have 10 inside the park homeruns, or while doing this, you can hit the batters to put them on base until its loaded then get grand slams to speed up getting to 20 runs.

-Each inning strike out the second controller, UNTIL THE 9th. In the 9th inning with 2 outs and 2 strikes on the last batter, save and quit the game. Ignore the achievement/whatever message. Save it as exhibition1 or whatever. Exit out.

-Load up: Exhibition1 or whatever you named it and you will be back in the game. (Make sure controller 2 is still on.) Throw one strike and bam….27 K’s 25 Runs, and 15 homeruns. Do this 9 more times and you will have met the requirements for each item on your VIP profile. (If you get more HR’s and RBi’s it can take less reloads.) You just click quit after you see the saving profile icon and go to option/load. Load the game back up and repeat that last strike for 27 more k’s 25 more runs, and 15 more HR’s.

(You can score less HR’s or RBI’s if you want, you just need to reload more.)

-Once you check your profile to see that you either met or surpassed the goal for the achievements load up a franchise 3-inning game. Try to get at least a K and an RBI in the game. (not sure if that matters though) When the game finishes and it saves profile again the achievements should pop, the avatar award pops before the achievements like right as the game ends.

-Potential Issues: When I did this (in an hour or so) the production popped the first time after a franchise game. I logged off my xbox for a little bit, came back and did one more reload (against the cpu for the last strike cause I forgot to turn on the controller) then did a franchise game. Both the avatar award and the Domination achievement popped after the game had finished.

Using this method I got my achievements and avatar award today in less than 2 hours and I started with just 35 RBI’s, 55 K’s, and 13 HR’s. Please leave comments if you think something needs clarification rather than just anon-negative voting me. Hope this helps those who are still working on the bat and ball prop or achievements.

All I had to do was production and this worked great for me.

FWIW, I played a 3 inning game in my saved Franchise (I was in the postseason) as not even the team that I had been playing the whole franchise year. I scored 4 runs in the 3 inning game. Popped after the 'save' at the end of the game.

Did you log out of the game and back in to play another game? When I got it, I logged out first came back in and played a game...finished it and got it.

Ok, so I finally got both Production and Domination. You should probably add if you haven't done so yet that when you play the 3 inning franchise game, that the whole game must be played on Pro difficulty. You can't switch it up during the game at all (like you can do for the no hitter one).

Production achievement - Drive in 250 RBI with your user profile.

Arachnicide's guide is very comprehensive. Great job!

However, I'd like to clarify and add a couple of details I discovered in obtaining the Domination and Production achievements.

First, you must play Exhibition games in "Play Ball" mode for your "VIP" stats to go up to reach the 250 RBIs and 200 Ks. Some websites claim you can obtain the achievement in ranked games, but that is not the case. I found that out the hard way. Also, you may play 3/5/7/9 inning exhibition games. I played a 3 inning game and got 25 RBIs and 9 Ks. Then I reloaded and played the final strike/out until I had the RBIs and Ks needed. But after you check your VIP stats and have the RBIs and Ks needed, you must play Franchise Mode to unlock these. But you must play against the CPU. I've confirmed that you do not need to get any RBIs or Ks during the Franchise game. After playing the CPU in a 3 inning Franchise game, both achievements should pop.

If you vote negative, please let me know why so I can adjust the solution. Thanks.
