Be successful in a major league clutch moment in My Player Mode.

How to unlock the This is Why I'm Here achievement in Major League Baseball 2K10 - Definitive Guide

Playing throughout My Player Mode, you will come across situations where "CLUTCH MOMENT" is displayed with a flashing silver/blue font and your player will walk in slow-motion. The first clutch moment you get is your first at bat when you play in the minors. This does NOT count for the achievement. The achievement states "Be successful in a MAJOR league clutch moment in My Player Mode." Anyway, whenever a clutch moment pops up in the majors, bring up the menu with the Right Stick and select "Save and Quit Game"

Now (after you've saved and quitted) load up your My Player saved game, and you should be right back where you left off - the clutch moment. Now just proceed with what it says to do (i.e. Get a walk off hit). If you fail the task, just exit to the dashboard and re-load your My Player and try again. Repeat the process until you succeed. DO NOT SAVE AND QUIT! Otherwise, your clutch moment will be lost and you'll have to wait patiently for a second chance.

Also, clutch moments don't just happen in batting situations. It can be a hit and run, stealing a base, striking out someone to end a jam in the 9th, etc.

Hope this helps! By the way, this is my first guide. I figured I could help writing some guides since the crash. Good luck :)

Your first guide is great! Helped me out 10 years after you wrote it. Cheers.

this one is random, you will have chances late in the game that are called clutch moments, and while walking to the plate a banner across the bottom of the screen will indicate a clutch moment, all you have to do is complete the situational goal at this moment in the game. (this can only be done after getting called up to the majors)

I can honestly say that I don't know how the clutch moments work for pitchers, I haven't tried the my player mode as a pitcher.

As a starting pitcher i have had one which I found when simming some games. Unfortunately my composure was terrible and failed the task. Haven't seen one since then(I'm about 1 season after).

I've had exactly one clutch moment as a starting pitcher. I've sunk probably about 20 hours into the My Player mode since I've liked it so much, but a little annoyed.

The clutch moments for the pitcher, it looks like, come into play if you're a reliever, mainly a closer who has the game on the line.

I played about 6 seasons as a starting pitcher and the only clutch moment opportunity I had was right when I got called up to the majors and there was a bases loaded situation and I had to try and not give up the run. Almost impossible because I had little to no composure also.

i started a career as a starting pitcher and i did in fact get a clutch moment but it was in the bottom of the eight with a runner on 2nd and my goal was to DRIVE IN THE RUN, so unless you play for a National League team you have virtually no chance to get one
