How to unlock the #1 in the Hood achievement in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 - Definitive Guide

Win 100 Ranked matches online.

This is under the same match making system as Street Fighter Hyper Fighting so boosting will be pretty hard the best bet is to do no voice chat and search that way. You will also need to know what the Ping is of your boosting partner because that is the only way you will be able to find thier game.

This will probably take a long time but what is nice is quit outs count towards your wins so after you get the other two online non-win achievements you can quit out the rest.

Quitting out does not appear to give the other player wins. I just tested 3x with my boosting partner and it never registered a win on the leaderboard when one player quit/left before the match was over. I tested with both the host and the joined player leaving btw.

The quitting out during a match does count towards a win when i did it with another person. I picked my characters, started the match, then let 5 seconds or so of the timer pass then quit out. I checked the leader boards and it added 1 to my lost/win count each time the other person or I would quit out during a match

Well it works because that's how I did it when the game first came out if this is no longer the case due to a patch or whatever if someone can try to confirm you may need to be the host to get wins

Quit outs do count and being the host matters none. Host quit out 50 times and the 50 one popped for non host.

Having just boosted this, I can confirm that quitting out DOES work. If you're going for the 50 One Character Victories achievement, then you must play those matches.

I got the achievement @ 96 wins, so perhaps quitting out when you're the host count but the wins don't show up on the leaderboard? Might be.

Quitting does work. I played the first 50 matches for the one character wins and quit the remaining 50 (I was host, 2nd player quit 2-3 seconds after the fight started). Unlocked pretty much spot on at 100 wins. Leaderboard doesn't always seem to update.

I'm always about efficiency, so here's what I did:

- Get matched up. Have the person who is dying Create Match with no voice chat and the 2P use Custom Match to view only those matches with no voice chat.

- Both players mash 'A'. You'll automatically pick the same team every time which works well if you're also going for [The Best There Is (At What I Do)].

- 2P mashes 'Y' and 'RB' (default) to kill the host quickly using Cable's gun and Cyclops' assist.

- Repeat. Match takes about 20-22 seconds each time.

Nice, quick, and easy.

Simply win 100 ranked matches online. This could be really easy or really hard, but time consuming either way. If you're boosting this it's a matter of how long is this going to take. However if you're doing this the hard way you'll be pitted against various combinations of teams. Make sure you have 20 unique teams already chosen and then stick with one set. If you're having trouble finding a match, just create your own room and wait for someone to enter or look under custom matches. Quick Matches rarely show any results. If you want to check your progress you can go into the Leaderboard and look under "My Score" showing the amount of Wins and Loses you have.

Tips:

  • Look out for any combination with Magneto and Storm, it could obviously be a tier spammer and you can expect constant infinites, don't that doesn't mean all hope is lost, fight strong and don't quit out. You wouldn't want someone to quit out on you when you're trying to get all your wins would you?
  • When choosing assist types, choose wisely between the choices, you don't want just one type of assist you want a variety and good ones at that. The game gives you recommended types but not all of them will necessarily fit your preferences.
  • When your character is close to death and has a lot of health it can still recover, its advised that you switch that character out with or depending on the character you want to choose from. Also time your switches, you don't want them to be blocking when you switch otherwise you're next character will suffer just as much punishment as your last.
