How to unlock the Herculean Task achievement in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds - Definitive Guide

To speed up the time it takes to beat this mode I suggest putting the damage to Highest and the timer to 99. You are able to select these after selecting your team for the first time in arcade mode.

I found the easiest way to beat this mode is with my team of Iron Man (Proton Cannon), Hulk (Gamma Charge) and Magento (Magnetic Disruptor)/Another Beamer.

Using Iron Man as your first character, simply spam Unibeam (Quarter Circle + Att) while assisting with Hulk. This will lock down the CPU while doing a sizable amount of chip damage. When Iron Man gets too damaged or incapacitated, switch to your other beamer and repeat. If it really goes down to it, when your Hulk is out make sure to use your X Factor (RT + A) and you should be able to gamma charge them to death (Quarter Circle + Att).

When it comes to Galactis, the first part is easy since it follows the same pattern as the prior rounds. When he reaches his second form, try to jump up to his face and continually beam him (Do not use your assist).

If you do not kill him with your 2 Beamers, your X factored Hulk will be more than enough to kill him (Make sure to save your Special Bars). With all the combo bars, simply use Hulk's Gamma Crush (Back Quarter Circle + Att x2) and win.

The achievement will unlock after the credits (When it shows the final score).

Wouldn't the best beamer to use for this be sentinel since his beam is just a 1 button hit and you can spam it pretty quickly.

Raaj - After doing the achievement myself (I was trying legit up until round 5 to no avail), my friends were able to do the achievement right after with only 2 losses between the both of them using my method (So I figured it worked pretty well).

But thanks for posting your solution, I don't think people should have any problem with the achievement now that there are 2 really good guides on the subject.

Lurch - This was the first achievement I went for when I got the game, so at the time I didn't have anybody unlocked. I figure he'd be amazing.

I thought there was no way it could be as easy as you said. following both yours and raaj's suggestions it took no time at all, and I suck at this game. positive vote from me

Jaggexedge - I rather your solution be top priority since it does actually works. I was just posting because I didn't see any solutions prior and thought I'd add my method without creating a new solution as yours is great and similar somewhat. I just thought making it 30 seconds would make it quicker, mostly win by decision though.

Thanks for posting, been helping a lot of others.

Good guide to get me started, thumbs up! I'd like to share what I did for others because I'm horrible at this game and I got this achievement without losing a round.

Team: Sentinel, any character you're good with- Dante for me, and Hulk (assist Gamma Wave)
Controls: Simple
Damage: Medium
Time: 30 seconds

I spammed the hell out of Sentinel's down and Y move, and would bring in the Hulk's assist when the enemy got close to end with a Time Up/Win. I did this all of the way up to Galactus. Once fighting Galactus I did as much damage with my main two characters that I could (about 60%) while saving my Special Bars and X-Factored the Hulk when he was all I had left using my specials. No continues!

Piece of cake! This guide and the comments within should be able to help anybody get this achievement!

Can you lose and continue and still unlock the achievement?

Yes, you are allowed to continue and still be able to get the achievement.

Spamming the beams doesn't work because they just jump over them. The assist works sporadically but I got to Super Skrull and he spams the teleporting air to ground attack and keeps using Inferno as his Hyper. Not sure how to make this work when they just jump over the beams and then beat the shit out of you since you're exposed from said beam.

That is why you use Hulk's assist (Gamma Charge/Wave) . When you continue to beam, it will either force the computer to continue taking chip damage or to go on the offensive (At which time, Hulk will either hit them or force them to block).

If you find yourself stuck, then mix up you team to cope with it. Find who you are good with and incorporate some of the tips given here.

There is only so much a guide can offer without actually doing the achievement for you.

I beat this easily by Picking Sentinal, Hulk and Dante, just keep spamming B on sentinal while spamming Hulk's assist,

Just wanted to say thanks to RaajTM. Dante's attacks combined with Hulk and a beam character was the only way i was able to beat this.

Didn't see this solution until after I beat it, I did this kind of differently but also didn't want to make another solution because yours is pretty much similar and works, but I did things a little differently:

Set the timer to 30 seconds and left damage alone set to medium (default).

I selected Dante and the two assists characters are Hulk because of the (Gamma Wave) and Sentinel (Sentinel Force (Charge)).

The fights were pretty much me spamming Hulk's assist while I stayed back and spammed Dante's Hysteric attack, (quarter circle forward + H) the homing rocket launcher attack. Kept alternating that while spamming the assist buttons and most of the time the computer will block and switch out, but it does damage them. You can throw in a couple of hyper combos where you see fit but since the time is short you just want to work on getting hit less.

When it came to the Galactus fight, I actually found this easier than the journey. Do the same with the two copies and when the actual Galactus fight begins, just fight him normally like you would any other difficulty. You may want to be more cautious of attacks and block them often. If you can do this and attack him high it should be pretty easy.

Main with sentinel and have two allies with beam assists like iron man, magneto, and doctor doom. For every match use sentinel force with light attack. The computer will take heavy damage and will have a hard time avoiding it. After calling sentinel force you can cancel into another one very quickly. In-between call your assists for extra damage.

When it's time for galactus you can use the same strategy against his heralds. But save your hypers for fighting galactus.

This is super easy if you follow this setup. Might add that when you get to Galactus that you can do quarter circle back then the S button to make Sentinel fly then use your hypers, this makes it hard for Galactus to hit you.

The freakingly easiest way to achieve this is:
Team:
Sentinel(alpha),
Iron Man(alpha) and
Dr. Doom (alpha).

Set the rules for Very Hard (of course), 30 seconds, MAX damage.

Keep defending with Sentinel while you call Iron Man or Dr. Doom (alternate them Lb-Rb-Lb-Rb...).
When you have a Level 2 gauge for hyper combos, press LT for a Crossover combination if you want to finish quickly.

With Galactus minions, repeat the process; to beat Galactus punch him with your best moves; if Galactus starts to do his "Squishin'" combo and you have a decent Level 2 or 3 gauge, activate the Crossover Combination to nullify that move. Keep hitting and the big fella' must fell.

I know this is a spammer way but If you're really desperate, this could be the very best solution.

I dont understand all the negative notes on this one. It worked perfectly for me. It took 4 trys to get it right but its easy. While fighting the two dudes just before galactus himself use the sentinels breath shot while pulling backwards to block while also tapping the lt rt manuever... Theyll rarely hit you if at all. Youll go into the galactus part with a level 3 attack. Its perfect. That breath shot is B Button I believe.

Go to Xbox Live mode and select Event Mode. Find the event that makes you play through Arcade Mode in 1v1 battles and select it, then go to Arcade mode. This is the absolute fastest way to get through it and you won't have to rely on assist spam.

Pick your best character, or better yet one of the stronger guys (Hulk or Sentinel for example). The cpu will try snapbacks on you, but since there's no partners/teams it won't work. Guys like Hulk can use this as an opening for a combo. If you activate X-Factor (absolute must) then you can kill them with a couple good combos. Be careful, because the cpu will abuse X-Factor also.

When you get to Galactus, save your X-Factor for him and don't use it against his heralds. All your attacks will do more damage and you'll build meter fast, so spam him with your character's most damaging hyper combo.

My solution is using Sentinel(doesn't matter about assist), Hulk (gamma charge), and another person who can shoot as an assist. I used Iron man for his unibeam assist. Put settings on very hard, damage highest, time limit if you really want it. I prefer not. So spam Sentinels beam with heavy attack, then crouch and heavy attack. Stay away from the opponent. When he gets close, use Hulk assist. It pushes him away. Then repeat. You may die with sentinel, if you do, substitute other shooter (Iron Man for me) and repeat with Unibeam. Continue that until boss battle. In boss battle attack the two metallish guys the same way. When it comes to Galactus, substitute in Hulk, use X factor, and quarter roll down to back and hit two attack buttons to use special. You should have 5 special bars, so use that special five times. Galactus should have minimal life left, and just finish him. You should get the achievement.

Note: I died three times during this strategy. You will/may die. If so, continue. You will not lose your achievement and you will lose all progress if you give up halfway through. Good luck.

For this trophy, you first have to switch the controls to easy mode and then select - Taskmaster - H. Shot, Chris - Gunshot, and Dr. Doom - Plasma Beam.. Then set the maximum, difficulty and 30 seconds for the round and the highest attack damage.. After that, just hold down playing as Taskmaster, remembering to call for support.

Having reached Galactus, turn on X factor and then do Hyper Crossover Combo and then to finish off Galactus.
