How to unlock the ...But the War Rages On. achievement in Medal of Honor - Definitive Guide

Defeating this game on hard will not give you any trouble at all. Keep in mind the following and you'll breeze through it.

- the game isn't as "realistic" as being advertised so don't expect a COD level of difficulty.

- you can ask your teammates for ammo if you need it. You'll hardly ever need to though.

- pistol doesn't run out of ammo so don't be afraid of using it if need be

- let your teammates push forward and call out the enemies. Most of the enemies simply stand there so again, not really an issue.

- listen to the chatter from your teammates, they are good at spoiling what is going to happen next.

- don't bother with melee unless you need the achievement for that as well. Getting that close can lead to death and the hit\miss aspect of the knife isn't spot on

- keep an eye out for large green boxes you can use to grab more grenades from

- there are multiple instances will you will be stuck in the scenery of the game or a doorway or one of your teammates will walk through you and get you stuck. Nothing you can do but reset the level.

I just completed it on hard and no achievement =( Do you know of any reason why this could have happened?

I played through on hard first then went on easy to clean up. NO difference at all, you and enemies die just as fast and since you can ask for more ammo at any point, it was a breeze.

You can get shot at least 2-3 times on hard, and not die. I rarely play shooters on hard, but this one, there is no reason to play on a lower difficulty. Really no more difficult than the "easy" or "normal" difficulties on most other games.

Do you have to complete the game from the beginning to the end non-stop or not?

Can confirm that if you start at mission 3 HARD (What i did..) to get my first "Backlog achievement" in this game on "HARD".. (Story.. i did completed it before.. but that was aug. 2015.. but was not really into achievements..) But anyway.. the game does save youre progress..(even you can not check youre progres..) so if you skipped the first 2 missions on "HARD".. like me.. dont worry!.. You can after you completed it for like 80%.... do the first two/+ missions also on "HARD" and still get this one!
wink clap

Well even though Tier 1 is hard difficulty, it is counted separately so you must hard campaign in addition to Tier 1. But I must disagree with 1 point of your solution. I won't give you a negative for it, but I feel I must point out "- the game isn't as "realistic" as being advertised so don't expect a COD level of difficulty." is a misleading statement. Your statement implies that CoD is more realistic than MoH. The problem I have with looking at it as such is that we are playing a game with a controller in our hands therefore neither game can be realistic. Until we are all using a VR system and wearing pressure vests turned high enough that they can simulate pain from being shot, we are very, very far off from realistic. Also I find that the difficulty in CoD was a false difficulty based on 90% "if you don't move up fast enough you hit an endless well of enemies." Just my thoughts on the matter. Anyone who wants to bash me for my statement can go ahead now.

It's all about cover really. Crouching is the best because then you can use left bumper to lean; which allows you to lean in any direction you want, however far you want. So instead of crouching and showing your whole upper torso you only need to expose part of your head while returning fire. I say crouching is the best because you can use lean to go to a standing position to get a better view, or if getting hit you can go to the prone without having to hit 'B'.

As others have said this achievement really isn't as bad as alot of people think. The best advice i can give is to take your time, it's just a game so if you die just learn from it, the next time you go through you'll know where the enemies are.

Just keep these tips in mind and you'll be good to go!

-Grenades help alot. (try and save them for larger groups)
-Always reload between kills.
-The Peek and Lean ability will save you alot of frustration.
-Pistols have infinite ammo.
-Only take point when you need to in order to progress through the level (the times when the enemies just keep on spawning)

Good luck, hope this helps!

As said above the Game is not really hard like Cod veteran or Battlefield 3 hard difficulty but still keep in mind, preserve ammo, always look for cover and try to always carry a shotgun as it is probably the best gun.

I finished the game on hard in about 7 or 8 hours and the only hard part was in the mission were your chinook helicopter crashed and you had to move up, my advice just seek cover !!!!!!!!

This achievement will pop anytime you have completed ALL the levels on Hard difficulty.

My first pass through the game was on medium, and then I finished achievements on Hard.

Since I hadn't completed the first 3 levels, including the prologue movie on Hard - I started a new campaign.

The save was erased but the Achievement still popped at the beginning of "running with the wolves"

So good luck - and remember to beat all the levels!

This difficulty is a piece of cake compared to Killzone2's Elite, COD:World at War’s Veteran or even MW2's Spec Ops, so it shouldn’t be a problem at all. Take cover, take your time with shots and you’ll breeze through easily.

Please note that completing the game on Easy then doing TIER1 Challenge will not unlock this trophy. You need to play the whole campaign on hard. If you do this on your first playthrough, you'll unlock "The Battle is Won..." as well.

Hard on Medal of Honor isn't very hard at all. There will be times when you will get frustrated, but this is no Call of Duty Veteran.
