Hello everyone. Being that the Missions times and bonus actions are already posted here, I will instead focus on telling you how to obtain this achievement.

First of all in tier 1 mode if you die you will be forced to start the level over again from the start. Also in tier 1 you will not be able to obtain ammo from your team! Tier 1 mode also has a timer (par time) you must beat. Lastly it is said that tier 1 is just like playing on hard but with these few changes included. So if you played on hard you should have a basic idea of what you are getting into.

Now the trick to not dieing is using cover, crouching, and laying down when you are getting shot and red blood is around your screen. It's wayyyyyyyyy better to take cover for 15 seconds and live than to die and start over.

Another way to avoid death is to allow your allies to take point! Never never never take point unless the mission forces you to! I can't tell you how many times I died because I ran up ahead and took point only to be killed by a cooked frag or an rpg!

As far as ammo goes it pays off great to switch all weapons to single shot mode (click d pad to the right). This will not only make your shots more accurate but it will conserve ammo big time!
Some weapons such as machine guns don't have single shot.

Also switch out shotguns for anything else, the last thing you want is a shot gun. Close range combat is not going to work here! A basic ak-47 is better! Don't pick up rpg's unless mission specific! The best enemy weapon is the sniper rifle and then the pkm machine gun.

Also there will be many times during the game where the mission will not
proceed unless you move foward. You may notice that you will kill enemies and they just keep coming back and taking up positions in the same spot.... This is when you must kill them and push foward to advance the mission.

My basic strategy was to get my team moving, and follow behind them, kill any enemies and move up hiding behind rocks or buildings as I advanced. Again when your allies are moving stay behind them, when they are not moving try to advance when safe to do so to get your team pushed up.

As far as par times go, if you follow what I say and don't rush things too much or take time to line up headshots you will always be under par time.

This guide is not for beating leaderboard times! And if you want this achievement don't bother trying to do so. It's better to just kill the enemies fast then trying to spend 5 seconds getting a headshot just to take off 2 seconds.

I beat all tier 1 levels in under 4 hours or so.

Excellent guide. A few things I want to add... On Neptune's net I went through the mission all stealthy and I barely finished under par time, with 30 seconds to spare. If you're having trouble, you might consider just shooting everyone with a quickness and running on.

On Friends From Afar, Dusty didn't coach me through each of the groups of guys to snipe. It took me a few runs through to memorize all their locations. So don't be like me and wait for three minutes for Dusty to point them out.

Thanks for the praise, on the sniper mission if you press the dpad it will show an icon to where the enemies are. This way you don't need to wait as long.

Shotguns work great in the first level inside the houses and tunnels. 1 shot 1 kill. Made me go through the first level much quicker. I used up all my shots at the moment i got the sniper rifle...perfect timing!

I also hate that a great portion of the time is taken by "cut scenes" or at least you have to wait until they are done with their converstations and stuff...you hurry to get somewhere quick only to wait for 30 seconds so your team can catch up and open a door :@

As SadBloke said, on Neptune's Net you have to traverse sections faster than the storyline tells you to. Ie, don't wait for you partner to tell you to take your shot in those sections where patrols sticks. Do it almost straight away. I still finished almost on par, but damn sure I wouldn't, had I kept listening to my partner :S

I'm surprised so few people have this achievement. I didn't have any problems, and aside from one or two missions, most were a one-time play and beat. Good luck to those who are encountering glitches, though.

That depends on how you play i guess.
I like the enemy sniper because you can use it from distance and it's one shot one kill. Than machine gun only because ammo count till you can pick up a better gun.

And again if you use my tactics a shotgun is pretty useless.

However, can anyone tell me why i have completed the game once and when i go to play tier 1 mode it says connecting and then "connection failed, please check your network connection and make sure you are signed into xbox live to access online features of this title" have the servers been shut for this already?

great guide, I will say this about shotguns, they are bonus MAGNETS in Tier1 mode. When you're going through the caves in Rescue the Rescuers, the shotgun will get a headshot almost every time. It's almost cheating, so if you want to add some decent time...Use the shotgun. You'll get bonuses galore!

Any tips for the end of Rescue the Rescuers? I did every other mission stupidly easily but I get to the part where you go around the edges of the cliff (constant RPG fire and respawns) whenever I try and take cover RPG's just kill me and whenever I move too fast I get gunned down.

As funny as it sounds Mav...take your time. Stick to the very left of the map and be efficient in picking off the enemies. You have enough team AI with you that they cause a good distraction. Utilize your grenades on the "respawn" points, stay low, but definitely move when you have a window of low activity.

My biggest issue is on Neptune's Net, the last part after you get spotted by the light and they want to take you prisoner...After Mother (i think that is him) tells you to move on his signal and the flare goes, i get the kills and go up the mountain, he says "coming to you" then more flares and gunfire, but it seems like i get killed with one shot from somewhere...and tips on the final gunfight for Neptune's Net?

If I recall correctly, there can be some guys that linger around the rock formations to your left as you go up the mountain with the mini-cave. Be sure to clear them out and there is a sneaky guy at the farther small cave entrance that likes to visually blend into a crate. Make sure to stay covered and take out the enemy that collects on the left side across the chasm from where (possibly) Mother has you go. And then the guys opposite of that on the right are crack shots as well. There will be a point where you have to hoof it to the "cut-scene" point and count your blessings that you don't catch one in the dome. I remember being crimson when I made it to the cliff's edge. Great guide. For me the hardest by far was Neptunes Net which I had to complete 3 times to get an under par time. The cut scene at the end goes on for what seems like forever nd adds about 40 seconds to play time. The crucial bit was the enemy around the camp fire at the 2 minute mark. Taking them all out stealthily not only gets headshot bonuses but takes much less time than open fighting. Even then I only finished with 1 minute to spare. Tier 1 Mode seems to have more bugs then the campaign, at least it seems like it.

Only small silver lining is that I've gotten real good at the parts before that, I can get up to the DDSK part in under 8 minutes. Gotten better at headshots too.

Thanks for the tips, but I just got it on my first try after trying again today.

I tried to make sure I was looking at the turret when it blew up, and it didn't glitch, the other times I was hiding in the back, staring at a wall.

Managed to get 22:30. Now I just have the last mission left, gotta make sure I take out all the RPGs, I keep dying in the same spot, seems to be a lot of guys with RPGs there.

Honestly I think its a personal issue with your game and save iDuL.

The servers were always misconfigured so they were useless from the get go. Server closure occured on the 16th but people still unlocked on the 19th. Nothing about this achievement seems to be tied to a server being up too.

Multiplayer achievements have been unobtainable long before the closure too. This one doesn't use the multiplayer to authenticate.

Well the achievement got flagged as discontinued as of today. And the Tier 1 mode is or was tied to the servers of the game. Not to the Multiplayer directly, but there was still a connection needed to the EA servers.
I also had issues with this game. I just unplugged my LAN cable while trying to connect to the Tier 1 mode. After plugging it back in and connecting to Xbox Live, I could finally load into Tier 1 mode again

Giincee, how did you get that to work? My 360 is hooked via Wi-Fi (Xbox1 is hardwired) so I disabled by Wi-Fi and tried to connect after but to no avail.

It worked before the official server shut down when I had issues connecting to the Tier 1 server. I just unplugged my ethernet cable, plugged it back and signed in and than the issue was gone and I could connect to the Tier 1 server again. But that's no more working unfortunately because the servers are gone

Default weapons are preferred untill you run out of ammo. Shotguns are capable of multikills at distance if used correctly. It will preserve your primary weapon ammo & is always handy as a CQB weapon. Although hitting your selection switch on your primary helps with ammo consumption, it greatly slows down enemy elimination & squad progression. If your dropping enemies efficiently with 1,2 or 3 round bursts, not only is ammo less of an issue but your squad members advance to the next position quicker providing you more support. Regardless on how one plays these weapons are adequate.

Belly of the Beast is garbage, it's glitched on me twice in a row now.

I take out the DsSk, but the dust cloud caused by the explosion, stays on my screen, instead of going away like it should, so I can't see a thing.

Twice in freaking row, I can't think of a FPS I've played that has more glitches then this one.

And that's not even counting the times in the campaign I had to restart a checkpoint, to progress because of a glitch. Had to do it 6 times in one of the levels.

Yah I got past one level then kept dying and i quit from frustration but i just took my time and never ran out in the open. I finished the rest the next day with about 3 minutes to spare on all of them.

I think the first mission is the hardest to get par time. On Belly of the Beast I was at the LZ with 10 mins left. I just stayed behind the building and took out the guys on the left. It's not based on how many guys you kill. I finished with 22:15. It is a long cut scene. I think 1 and a 1/2 minutes. My first time through I about cried when I finished with 24:15 and watched the cut scene go to 25:45......

this achievement is incredibly frustrating i literally got to the end of the mission where you have to take cover in the building while the Taliban rain everything on you, and the game expects you to stay alive behind a chest high wall to survive grenades and flanking enemies that's bullshit. /rant

I will tell you all the same as im telling everyone else, forget about the timer and concentrate on not getting killed. I got through all but 2 levels in one run. Breaking Bagram(through stupidity) and Belly of the Beast,BOTB was only because of the long cutscene at the end putting me 21 secs over. use cover and move foreward,most of the time your team will move up and help. I tried on Running with wolves,staying with dusty to see if i hit par, i did without running and gunning.
Im not meaning to sound elitest here at all beingS i didnt struggle, i bet some reading this didnt struggle with kung fu panda, which to this day i still cant 1k! As long as you dont camp for a week on the levels you will make par. Some i was close on,but a par time is a par time. +vote, and i hate serial downvotersTA need to do something about that.

hi all,

I found this achievement relatively easy with what everyone said, I chose to line up all the headshots I could and I always finished well under par time, nothing that's going to impact the leaderboards but good enough for me.

change assault rifles to single shots and with anything that you can't change to single shots just use short bursts of 3-5 bullets and you should have no problem getting plenty of headshots and freezing time.

in the other guide, it says to switch out shotguns I found that in certain parts of Belly of the Beast "village" and Rescue the Rescuer's "cave" having the shotgun was very helpful, but at any other time after that replace it with another assault rifle or the PKM in a lot of cases.

the only mission I struggled on was Belly of the Beast and I used these 2 videos which were a great help.

In the cave , the Grenade Launcher is much better than the shotgun . More over , this is the fastest way to cross the cave , and without any damage .

I did Belly of the Beast on the first try...ran out of ammunition in my main gun and had just a shotty left...hid behind the wall on the right side and blasted those guys as they tried to come back on the right side close. I used this video from youtube but after seeing it posted here I had to give it an upvote! Was very helpful to have a refresher as I remembered this mission was annoying and stressful the first time through.

This level is garbage, it's glitched on me twice in a row now.

Once I take out the MG turret, the dust caused by the explosion stays on my screen, so that's it's all tan, and I can't see anything.

I'm playing through this now and I'm stuck on Belly of the Beast at the moment. I have a little trouble seeing the guys in the hills at the beginning since it's very dusty so adjusting your contrast might help. I preferred to use the shotgun when going through the village since getting headshots is pretty easy and you'll need those extra seconds. I didn't have much luck chaining kills to stop the clock so killing people quickly was my best strategy in order to just progress the mission. Here are some helpful cutoff times from the video. If you're like me and struggle with headshots you might want to be a bit ahead of the cutoff times.

Crossing a small log bridge 4:10
Checkpoint at low rock wall right before MG turret 8:35
Crossing the Rock Wall after MG 12:50
Crossing a log 16:25

After you get the next checkpoint I think that the last part of the mission is scripted and always takes the same amount of time. If you can chain shots you can buy more time.

Tier 1 Mode is a game mode that you must complete missions under a specific time. If you die during any part of the mission, it will cause you to restart the mission. You must be connected to xbox live to play this mode. Here are some tips to help you complete this:

Stay back, your team will take care of some enemies, but not all of them.
Conserve your ammo and go for kill shots. You can't request ammo from your teammates like in normal campaign. You can rarely find a weapon, so pick your shots carefully.
If you are sprinting, pressing the will cause you to slide. Use this to quickly get to cover.
Learn to use the cover system. It will be a good amount of help while trying to get the upper hand on some enemies.
Take advantage of Headshots and Knife kills as they will reduce your time.
Also take advantage of killing several enemies (or getting several headshots) in a short ammount of time as this will reduce your time.

The Par Times for each mission are as follow:

TIER1 is basically a challenge mode where you need to complete the campaign under a specific target time. It is unlocked when you have completed the campaign once on any difficulty. You take more damage, enemies are more faster and accurate, and there is no ammo replenishment from allies (unlike playing on Easy :P). So. Here are the mission times you need to beat. First, a few notes:

- Movements.

Try to move quickly and as safely as possible. One thing to note here is that if you continue moving towards the next target (even if it hasn't appeared yet), your team's shots will become more accurate.

- Time slowdown.

Headshots and head knives stop the timer for 2 seconds; 3 headshots in a row stops the timer for 5 seconds; 5 quickly killed enemies also stop the timer for 5 seconds. There is also a special scale at the top of the screen. If you fill it out quickly, you will get an extra 5 seconds.
